Issue with Delete Index in process chain

Hi All,
I have a situation with Delete Index in my process chain.
Delete Index step, before loading data to cube, is taking around 2Hr to complete but some times it completes within 5 mins.
Anyone faces such issue? If yes, how can I fix it?

Hi,
If Statistics are not maintained for the cube then also it might casue the high run time in index deletion.
if its urgent then, can u try doing it manually form performance tab....
or once process chain step is complete, create statistics for the cube. Next run should take less time

Hi,
Normally index creation or deletion can take long time in case your database statistics are not updated properly, so can check stat after your data loading is completed and index generation is done, Do creation of database statistics.

Problem with delete index of cube in process chain

HI ,i have a problem with my process chain,here on process name as delet index is ther which has been turned to red.when iam going inside of that in Display message iam getting the msg as"Indexes for InfoCube SMS_C06 have been deleted successfully".
since the process is in red next process is not been triggering,but i have to continue the process chain.
can anybody put some light into it.its very urgent........

I ran into the same situation with one of my process chain that is part of a metachain. The process chain has the Delete Index that turned red. But the messages show that the indexes on all the cubes were deleted sucessfully.
As suggested, I did a repeat on the delete index variant, but no luck as it turned red again.
Anyone aware familiar with this issue?

If you are having issues deleting a specific message from an iMessage conversation (not seeing the Trash icon), you may want to double-check that you are following the steps outlined in the following article:
How do I delete a message?
To delete a message, tap and hold the message bubble, then tap More.
Tap Delete All to delete all the messages. Or tap to select the messages you want to delete, then tap .
After you delete a message, you can recover it only by restoring from a backup.

Urgent : Issue with deleting Line Item in ME22N

Hi all,
I have an issue with deleting line item in ME22N for some Purchase Orders.
When I try to delete the line item, a warning message comes up saying that " Quantity invoiced or delivered is less than the quantity ordered". And I am unable to proceed further and save the PO. Could anyone let me know as why this is happening?

there is no need of group key.
if any of these 3 are done, payment will be done in total.
1.In setup all company codes for payment transactions , DESELECT seperate payment per business area check box
2.In setup paying company codes for payment transactions , DESELECT seperate payment for each reference check box.
3.In the Vendor Master got to payment transactions tab and below the payment method , there will be individual payment checkbox. DESELECT that check box.
try again with first two with DESELECT options , i will check out with DME.

Problem with a stuck yellow process chain

Hi all,
I have a problem with a stuck yellow process chain.
A Meta chain calling a sub chain. The sub chain loads some master data.
Some months ago one process stopped in yellow, no processes still running.
So after that day when the meta chain runs the error msg is as follows
Diagnosis
The previous run of the current subchain, BW_METADATA_MD_ST , is not yet
     complete. This leads to communication errors with the metachain called,
     BW_METADATA_MD .
System response
The current run of the metachain is cancelled.
Procedure
1. End the previous run of the subchain, or wait until the run is
         complete.
         It does not matter whether the run was successfully completed or
         not.
2. Restart the metachain.
How do I end the previous run of the subchain?
There is no process running, just want to set the flag to ended.

Hi,
You can use transaction delete_facts to generate program for selective deletion and use the program in your PC to automate it.
You can also try program RSDRD_DELETE_FACTS as well for cubes.

Delete PSA Using Process Chain

I need to schedule some PSA deletes using a process chain and wanted to make sure I'm doing the right thing.
I have MD 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR and in RSA1 if I click on "manage" I can see my PSA's that were loaded. Yeah, there were 2 different loads.
If I go to RSPC and create a variant to delete this PSA after its 45 days old I look up the PSA and I see the following:
/BIC/B0000782 Work Breakdown Structure Element (WBS Element)
0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR_DA Work Breakdown Structure Element (WBS Element)
Using se16 looking up this table: /BIC/B0000782000 it looks like it doesn't have any records so my question would be:
Is /BIC/B0000782 the PSA?
What is 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR_DA?

OK here are my answers:
1) You seem to be disagreeing. One says use the /BIC/B0000782 the other says use 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR_DA in the Process Chain.
I used /BIC/B0000782 in the process chain.
2) When I look up 0WBS_ELEMT in table RSTSODS using the ODSNAME I see:
ODSNAME VERSION DATETO DATEFROM OBJSTAT ODSNAME_TECH
0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR_DA 000 9999/01/01 1998/01/01 ACT /BIC/B0000900000
0WBS_ELEMT_TEXT_DB 000 9999/01/01 1998/01/01 ACT /BIC/B0000541000
these are the internal tables for the transfer rules I guess
3) /BIC/B0000900000 is the internal table for 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR_DA correct?

4) /BIC/B0000782 which I saw when I was looking up the PSA entry for 0WBS_ELEMT_ATTR is the internal table for the PSA?

5) Still confusing is that neither /BIC/B0000782000 or /BIC/B0000900000 has any records.
/BIC/B0000782000 must be the default table for the PSA, and /BIC/B0000782001 did have the same number of records I saw on RSA1 (Manage), and /BIC/B0000900000 is the internal table for the rules
so we are all good!

Delete Initialization using Process Chain

Hi Experts,
How to delete initialization using process chain? Additional question, why does our DTP couldn't get any data from PSA? We just transfer our DTP to other process chain and left its associated infopackage from the original process chain but when we check our extraction, our DTP always gets zero (0) records. What do we need to put in our DTP settings? and infopackage and DTP should always be in the same process chain??

Anyway, our InfoPackage in the other Process chain executed succesfully and has an extracted data. Now, our DTP can't get any data from the PSA where the extracted data of InfoPackage resides first. Is there any other way around to separate DTP and its associated infopackage in different process chains? Or those objects should be in the same process chain?
Another questions, how can we delete an initialization using a process chain? and is there a function module that can we use to remove the initialization request so that we could re-initialize a process?

Delete Request in Process Chain - still need to delete indexes?

I have a cube here that is a full load every day. In the process chain I delete the 1 request (because there's only one request in the cube at any time) and then I reload using a full load.
My question is that with a normal load into a cube I delete indexes and then load and then recreate indexes. Now with my cube since I am deleting the contents of the cube do I need to add the delete indexes process in the chain?
Do the indexes get deleted when the data is deleted?

Yes, when you delete the content of the InfoCube the Index associated with also gets deleted. So in the process chain Delete Content -> Load Data -> Create Index will be enough.

Index in process chain question

Hi Experts,
I am creating a process chain with only 1 infopackage, do i need to add a "delete index" and "create index" variant in this chain or do i NOT need to do this because it is only one infopackage? Your advise is appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Also note that if the number of data records to be loaded is small as compared to the total number of records already in the cube, then deleting and recreating (would affect load perf) but would take more time and resources than loading in the presence of these index.

Creating cube index in process chain

From my previous post I realized that we build index of cube first and then delete the overlapping request from cube.

If I design a process chain in which I delete the overlapping request first and then build index then in the checking view it does not give me any error.
The process chain also works fine.
How does it hurt to have it this way or what is the concept behind having the sequence as recommended by SAP.

Hi Sam,
Writing performance is increased when there is no index --- So we delete the index before updating data.
Reading Performance is increased when there is a index -- So we create Index so that when queries are executed quickly by reading the data in the info-cube.
BI Best solutions suggests that old requests are to be deleted before loading new one.So we delete ovelapping requests.

Infopackage deleted - error in process chain

I have a problem in process chain.
Today the log advices an error because an Infopackage (that is used in the chain) was deleted yesterday; in fact, in the chain there is an other name for the Infopackage (first question: is this automatically generated?).
It seems that none deleted it.
Can you help me, please?

I think that the problem can be resolved with the creation of a new Infopackage with the same features of the precedent, but I don't understand the cause of the problem.

Hi,
you can check in the log what went wrong for this InfoPackage: transaction SLG1, object RSSM, subobject SDL, external ID = *.
What kind of name do you have in your chain? Is it a generated name or a name one of you typed for the IPack.
In a chain some of the packages are generated automatically depending on the process you drag in your chain.
Creating a new IPack with the same name would work I think, if the package in your chain is not a generated one. If it is a generated IPack, then create a new IPack and drag it in your chain.

Object requested is currently locked by ALE Remote is the message i got while dropping indexes from the process chain and is red
Entire chain is now status R. I tried by repeat still the dropping indexes step fail in the process chain.

Even check any lock is happened for the cube in SM12. If it not rectified with all possible solutions please paste error log in batch monitor tab.

Cannot update data from DSO to Cube with further update in process chain

              This is the message am getting when am trying to update to cube by process further update with process chain.Process fails at further update with the following below message.
However at DSO level i can see the data mart status but no request at cube level.
Error Message:

    Message no. RSM1523
Diagnosis
    System checks show that request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR cannot be
    updated to a data target.
    The system checked whether
    o   request REQU_D57WAP7Z2WAI1CG5Y5OQ5W7JR is already in the data target
    o   the data target has active update rules for the InfoSource
    o   the data target was selected for updating
    o   locks exist
    o   for a DataStore object as a data target, that the request was
        updated in the correct order, if the DataStore object stipulates
When i check the monitor screen under status tab it says "A caller 01, 02 or equal to or greater than 20 contains an error meesage" and under details tab "Data Package 1 : arrived in BW ; Processing : Data packet not yet processed "

It seems you used infopack when you select update data inot datatarget then system prompts you a infopack.That's the infopack which is generated by system being used in process chain variant to update data into datatarget.
Create new infopack/ DTP manually then use that infoapck/DTP on the process chain variant then try.
