Issue with running reports on the portal

Hello Guyz
1. I have a question regarding running reports on the portal.
2. I have standard web templates that have been installed in BI.
3. But in the portal, we are not able to run these reports.
4. Do we need to create custom I-Views or can we install them from business content?
5. Can someone explain the process to me AND also any other issues that we might have?
Thanks.

Hi Srinivas,
Standard web templates doesnot get installed with attached queries.Create custom web templates in WAD and attach ur queries based on the type of display u like either tabular or graphical. In order to diplay in portal you have to attach webtemplates to iViews and then group iViews to worksets and attach to portal roles. Then add those roles to portal users. From BI Prospective u just create web-templates and give technical names to EP consultants if you have any then they can takecare of rest.If you want to call standard web template 0ANALYSIS_PATTERN from portal you need to have Business Explorer role added to ur user in EP.Using that template u can only open one query at a time and execute.Hope its clear

  • Integrating ECC reports with BW reports in the Portal

    Greetings experts!
How, if at all, can one integrate BW reports that are in BW Roles in the portal (i.e. an enduser runs reports using the "new analysis" button in the portal via the 0analysis_pattern template) with ECC reports in the portal?
    Requirement:
End users are looking for one location to go for all their reporting needs (ECC and BW) in the portal.
BW developers wish to continue the deployment and management of reports via the BW roles that reside in BW and stay away from creating an iview for every BW report.
Is this possible?  thanks in advance for all your responses.
    best,
    -ravi

I am not sure how your ECC reports display in the Portal however I assume they are associated with an ECC Role.
You do not need to create an iview for each BW report.  Upload your roles into the Portal under System Administration > Transport > Role Upload.
Each role in your ABAP (BW) role will be created in an assoicated Portal Role.
These roles will display in the Top Level Navigation, as do all roles that have been assigned to a user.  The Reports of the Roles then display in the Detailed Navigation frame in the portal, once the role has been selected in the Top Level Navigation.
In this way your users go to one place, the portal to execute reports.

  • Issues with BEx Reports in SAP Enterprise Portal

    Hello Experts,
I am facing issues with BEx reports integrated in portal. Below are more details:
    Scenario 1:
Execute a BEx report in the portal, save it in 'My Portfolio' using 'Save As' button. Now open the saved report from 'My Portfolio'. Below is the issue for this scenario:
When I open the saved report, I get 2 error messages and 1 info message at the top of the report. They are as follows:
The metadata of 'ITE' 'TEMPLATE_PARAMETERS' are incorrect for parameter 'COMMAND_PROCESSING'
The metadata of 'ITE' 'FILTER_PANE_ITEM' are incorrect for parameter 'TEXT_WRAPPING'
Variables for characteristic Fiscal year/period[0FISCPER] cannot be processed
    Scenario 2:
Execute a BEx report in the portal, save it in 'BEx Portfolio' or 'Favourites' using 'Save As' button. Now open the saved report and click on 'Send' button. As expected, the BEx broadcaster wizard should appear but, it shows '400 BAD HTTP REQUEST'. While if I open the report (not the saved one) and click on 'Send' button, it works.
    Helpful pointers appreciated.
    Thanks
    Vikash

    HI Suman,
I am not adding the report to favourite using browser favourite. Below is the flow:
    Run the report in portal.
There is a 'Save As' button at the top of the report. When I click that button, I get a pop-up with 3 tabs  for saving the report.:
    Favourite
    BEx Portfolio
    My Portfolio
save the report in the favorites or BEx portfolio tab and then open it and press 'Send' button
BEx Broadcaster Wizard should appear but instead of that, it shows '400 BAD HTTP REQUEST'.
If I press send for unsaved report, then BEx broadcaster Wizard is shown.
    Thanks,
    Vikash

    Hello,
I am trying to run a certain report under a certain user in the portal.
If I run this report with this user from the BW it is working but if I run it from the portal with this user it doesn't. The error I receive in the portal is this:
ABEND: Program error in class SAPMSSY1 method : UNCAUGHT_EXCEPTION

    ABEND: Error in BW:
ABEND: You do not have authorization for the data transfer process

    Hey Roy,
Check with the User Portal Roles and all Authorization Objects in BW.

  • Problems with running reports having parameters, on the web

    Dear all,
I have recently installed Oracle 9iAS v1.0.2.2.1 on Suse linux 7.3. Also, installed
Forms and Reports 6i alongwith it.
Building and running reports both static and ones that accept parameters was a breeze.
I could also run reports from the web successfully until now when I am trying to run a
    report that accepts parameters.
When I enter the following URL:
    http://<webserver>/cgi-bin/rwcgi60?report=<some.rdf >userid=<user/passwd@db>
    server=<reportservername>destype=cachedesformat=html+paramform=yes
    This is what happens:
    1. I am prompted for a parameter value in the html format
    2. On entering a suitable value, I am prompted for information to connect to the
database viz. username, password and database name
    3. Entering suitable values for the above results in a hung state. There is no output and
the busy signal is all that I get for a long long time.
    4. Also, stopping this session results in other such sessions resulting in a hung state, too.
That is to say, if I had run a report throug the web successfully before trying this
one, after aborting this session, I cannot re-run the previous successful report. That
too results in a hung state. I have to restart the reports server rwmts60 once again
as well as the web server for things to work smoothly.
I tried recreating the cgi env and ran a strace on the rwcgi60 command. It produces
an error saying 'libzrc60.so.0: no such file or directory' where as it is very much
present in the default LD_LIBRARY_PATH. This could be misleading as I am not sure
how I correct I was in re-creating the CGI env.
This is a problem I face only when I enter the "paramform=yes" option in the URL.
Also, excuse me for my ignorance , but I have no idea how to interpret the cgicmd.dat file.
It does mention that %P, %PT, %PC are amongst the currently recognised special
    parameters, though.
Will someone please help me out asap as this is quite urgent.
    Thanks a million in advance
    Hema

    Hi Hema,
There could be various things that explain this, but from your symptoms it looks like the engine is hung processing this report. This could be as simple as a PL/SQL trigger that is in an infinite loop. Anyway, a simple thing to do is to add TRACEFILE=filename&TRACEMODE=append&TRACEOPTS=TRACE_ALL onto your URL. This will create the specified file and dump information into it about what Reports is doing as it is processing your report. If it is hung in an infinite loop, you should be able to see how far it got when you kill it.
Also, you can see the status of the reports job queue by using the http://.../rwcgi60?showjobs command. If the report is executing forever, you'll see it sitting there in the job queue.
    regards,
    Stewart

  • Doubt With Report in the portal

    Good Night.
    I have the following doubt:
There are is a variable in the system in where I can know if a report  abap  is executed in the portal and the backend?
I has created a report ABAP and I published this report report in the portal. I need do a validation in this report, but i want know if There are is a variable in the system in where I Can know if the report is executed in the backend or if is executed in the portal.

I don't found form of know if a report ABAP is executed in the portal or r/3

  • Printing a report with print sheets from the portal

It is my understanding that a print sheet uses a variant to make a connection between the variable settings set in the web portal and the variable / filtering settings that are used when printing a report. It is also my understanding that without a print sheet and variant that when a user prints a report from the portal that the printed report would not have the same filtering (variable settings) as what the user sees in the report. I have created a report and a print sheet that uses a variant, but when we view reports in the portal there is not a print icon... we can only print from the browser. Printing from the browser only prints what is on the screen, not a formatted report set up in the reporting agent. How do I print a report that uses a variant and a print sheet set up in the reporting agent to be available to print from the portal... i.e. display an icon to print the report? If you have a better or more detailed explanation of what a print sheet is and how to set it up, please include that as well.

The BW Reporting agent print settings is used for batch printing of BW reports not online printing from the web.
Currently there are no SAP delivered formatted reporting print functionality for BW. BI 7.0 will have formatted reporting and PDF export options.
SAP had recently released a How to Document on printing using MS Excel. See the attached link for the same.

  • Get a Report crashed error while running report using the mode character

    Hello,
I'am getting an "Enable to run report - Report as crashde" issue only when I'am running reports using the mode character. The same report with desformat pdf never has any problems. I have changed the englife (set to one) increase the cachesize but I still have the same issue.
    I'm using report 6i and Oracle 8i.
Thanks in advance for your help.

  • Performance Issue with VL06O report

    Hi,
We are having performance issue with VL06O report, when run with forwarding agent. It is taking about an hour with forwarding agent. The issue is with VBPA table and we found one OSS note, but it is for old versions. ours is ECC 5.0. Can anybody know the solution? If you guys need more information, please ask me.
    Thanks,
    Surya

    Sreedhar,
Thanks for you quick response. Indexes were not created for VBPA table. basis people tested by creating indexes and gave a report that it is taking more time with indexes than regular query optimizer. this is happening in the funtion forward_ag_selection.
    select vbeln lifnr from vbpa
appending corresponding fields of table lt_select
         where     vbeln in ct_vbeln
         and     posnr eq posnr_initial
         and     parvw eq 'SP'
         and     lifnr in it_spdnr.
I don't see any issue with this query. I give more info later

  • CRS 5.0(1) issue with historical reports

    Hi support community,
I'm facing an issue on a CRS 5.0(1) with historical reports (HDS).
Last known issue on the Windows Server was that there were no free space on hard drive.
This is now fixed and everything looks fine again.
Now the user reporting that they could not get historical reports.
As far as I could troube shot this issue by now, I can say that all regarding services are up and running.
I can still run reports for the current day but not for the last week or month.
So I guess there is a issue that the CDR don't stay in the MSSQL server.
I go through the logs and could not find anything suspicious.
Just one thing gives me to think of, in the database "da_cra" / table "ConfigLog":
    - last entry was on 07.11.2012 where the space issues started
    - I could not get any usefull information about the last entries
CRS 5.0(1) is not supported by TAC anymore so I hope some one could put me in to the right direction for further trouble shooting.
The user need the HDS reports until a new soloutin for CC is online.
My action plan looks as following:
    - enable tracing for SQL - HDS
    - perform check table / repair table on MSSQL
Unfortunately there is a message when I try to enable the tracing, but I don't get it what this message try to say me.
I don't know any MSSQL commands to run such checks / repairs.

    Hi Anand,
let me see if this could help.
I'm facing an issue that we could not get data older than current day.
So if the database would be reached the maxium size so I guess we could not get the latest CDR but older one, right?
But in our situtation we have a vice versa situation, we get current CDR but not historical.
    I checked the purge settings:
    - schedule is configured to daily "12:00 AM"
    - purge data older than "99" months
    - notify when database reach "70" % of 2048 MB
    - initiate autmoatic purge when databse size exceeds "80" % of 2048 MB
    - auto purge data for the oldest "15" days
    So this should be fine
I attached the PurgeProcess.log and have some questions about it:
line 4: Calling execute with purge date sat nov 27 00:00:03 CET 2004
--> where is this date coming from? date time settings are correct on Windows host
line 17: oldest record in the database has a timestamp of tue feb 26 07:27:39 CET 2013
--> this is excatly what I experience, any how the purge process gone crazy and deleting to much CDR's
line 18: database size exceeded auto-purge threshold of 80%
--> why is the database have such a great size if the lates record is from day before (call amount ~ 500 calls per day)
So at this point I have two questions why is the time stamp wrong and how could I clean up the database (what are these data which fill 80% of database)
    Thanks and Regards, Alexander

  • Reports Server/running reports on the web.

I am trying to configure my web server to run reports on the web. I have followed the instructions provided by Oracle, but some is not clear. When i try to run report on the browser, i get the following error:
    CGI Error
The specified CGI application misbehaved by not returning a complete set of HTTP headers. The headers it did return are:
Oracle documentaion say the following about the steps to configure the web server:
1-Start your Web server by entering the following:
    2-Start your browser.
    3-Create a listener.
4-Configure your Web server mapping and note the physical and virtual directories. For example:
I have done all the steps above except creating a listener. The documentation doesnt explain that step at all.
I have created a cgi-bin directory and made it excetable and copied the rwcgi60.exe from reports server machine to the web server machine. I also copied the TNSNAMES entry for the web server from the reports server machine to the web server machine.
Here is the command i use(just trying to make sure that web CGI is responding, but it doesnt work)
    http://web_server/scm/cgi-bin/rwcgi60.exe
Other question: On the server machine, i have 3 oracle directories: ORA81, ISUITES, 806, which one should be the home directory for the reports to work on the web??
    I am using oracle 8.1.7 with 9iAS release 1.
    Thanks

  • Error when running reports on the WEB

    Hi,
I have been successful in deploying our application on the Web,
using WebDB listener, Developer Server, Report Server and JInitiator 1.1.7.18.
Now the forms on the web runs fine without any problem but
when I run Reports from Forms using RUN_PRODUCT built-in by passing parameters from Forms to Reports it generates this following error: REP-0081-Error During I/O operation and REP-0110: Unable to open file "<<file>>.html" scaba 14.
The strange thing about the REP-0110 is, it refer to a path that is not defined in my registry(FORMS60_OUTPUT,_MAPPING, REPORTS60_PATH,_TMP,_WEBLOC,_WEBLOC_TRANSLATED) and neither my physical directory in the directory mappings which I defined on the web server. (I refer to a the path mindpack4.1 and the REP-0110 refer to mindpack4_1)
    Any help appreciated.
    Thanks

    Hello pals,
i have set the following parameters: TMPDIR and REPORTS60_TMP...

i hope that the problem is not somewhere else.
NB. I was having problems with 2 reports only. the others were

Ok, I was able to figure out the functions that were confusing me. For my own record and for those that do not know, I will list how to create the objects necessary to add a new report to a menu.
1-Write JSP (should be written just how Oracle writes theirs)
2-Creat function for the new JSP page as System Administrator responsibility
3-Use Sys Admin to add the function to a menu somewhere
4-Using AK Developer responsibility, create an attribute with the label of the attribute being the name of your function you created. Oracle's convention is the name of the attribute has FS in it.
5-Using AK Developer, lookup the ASF_FUNC_SEC_REG region
6-Drill down into that regions attributes
7-Add a your newly created attribute to this region

  • User issue with a report supply planning area today monthly

this is a support issue....the user has an issue with a report supply planning area today monthly.  The user is getting wrong values in BW, it sums PLOs and POs under production (config).  for eg:  BW says we are producing 46T while in R/3 we have 4T.

The issue was related to the heap size being too much and as a result the Class block memory was not getting enough memory. I think we can make a use of -XXCompressedRefs:32 parameter in the Java start up to allow the heap size to increase till 32 Gb.
