Issues with scan to email

Recently, the email/file server was upgraded to OS X 10.9.1. Since performing this upgrade, 3 of the 4 RICOH MFPs have not been able to scan to email. The SMTP Log shows this error for the non-functioning MFPs: Helo command rejected: need fully-qualified hostname
I attempted to add a Machine Name entry into the DNS for this device, but it made no difference. The thing that is really aggravating about this is that the newest model we have works with no issue.
Models:
Aficio 3045               not scanning to email
2x Aficio MP 4500   not scanning to email
MP C4502                 scanning to email
I would be greatful for any ideas the community might have.

Figured this out. I had to specify the domain name in the MFP settings, rather than allow it to gather from the DHCP.

You forgot to describe the 'issues' but there are no viruses that affect Apple OS X.

Hi, I'm using MAC OSX 10.6.8 and have intermittent issues with receiving new emails - sending is OK. I've tried the workarounds (take offline & take online), quitting mail etc - no luck. Have cleared space, checked Window - Doctor and server has green light.  Mail Activity shows 47 emails waiting to download, iPad and iPhone download them all OK - no extra big files stopping the download either.    In the past, quitting mail has worked, but not today... All I can suggest is that you open that file on the MBA and save it as a new file, then see if you can open the new one on the iMac.

  • Issue with iCloud.. email address and responding

    Hi Everyone,
Not sure why this is happening but I have encountered some recent issues with iCloud. A little history I restored my iphone 4s and have reinstalled and reset all my accounts, apps, and services. All was working well until this last week.
    1) Before (restoring my phone), I was able to reply to any email (icloud or other) on my phone AND select which ever 'from account' I had available, INCLUDING the icloud alaises. Now when I reply through the phone I do not get access to those alaises for some reason.
    2) Through the browser (Safari or Chrome), I can not reply to emails in iCloud. It crashes. I can however forward, but once I hit reply it generates an error.
iCloud has also somehow merged my emails addresses into mail but again disregarding the alaises created. I don't sync my MacBook Mail with iCloud Mail documents (Thank God), but I do sync Calendars, and Contacts. (Btw it would be nice to select which Contact groups to sync with as on iTunes)
Not sure what is going on but it has become quite annoying especially when it was working just fine about 2-3 weeks ago.
    Any ideas/solutions?
    Thanks

Try going back to http://appleid.apple.com and changing the ID back to the original address. If you can get this accepted, then go to the iCloud preferences/settings pane, stop 'Find My ....', and then sign out. Do the same on any other devices or computers.
Then go back to http://appleid.apple.com and change the ID to the new one. Sign in with that on all your devices.
However as the address which forms the original ID is now not working it can't be validated and it's possible that you won't be able to revert to it. In this situation only Support can help you.
To contact  iCloud Support: if you currently happen to have AppleCare, either because you recently bought Apple hardware or have paid to extend the inititial period, you can contact them here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/icloud/contact/
You will need the serial number of the covered hardware.
If you are not covered by AppleCare, then - in common with other free email services - there is no free support and you may be asked to pay a fee.

  • Issue with Service Request email Notification

    Hi All,
Whenever we change the status of SR an email should be triggered. But it is not happening. Is there any setups we have to look for. When ever an event is raised there is no notification sent.
Please let me know your comments at the earliest as it is an priority issue.
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

    Hi Mohammed,
Thanks for the reply. I will explain the issue in detail. The issue is with the iSupport.
User creates an SR in iSupport. Now the status will be in Open. Again user updates the SR by adding some notes by which the status of the SR will be changed to Updated by Customer. At this point we are getting an error notification. This error is as follows
    Event Error Name: WFENG_EVENT_NOTFOUND
Event Error Message: 3142: Process 'SERVEREQ/100794754-1997529-EVT' has no activities waiting to receive event 'oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequest.statuschanged'.
    Event Error Stack:
    Wf_Engine.Event(SERVEREQ, 100794754-1997529-EVT, CSEVTPROC, oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequest.statuschanged)
    Wf_Rule.Default_Rule(oracle.apps.cs.sr.ServiceRequest.statuschanged, CEEC6B02CCB86CD4E0340003BA4D7D08)
But If we update the same SR from service request form in customer support everything is working fine. \
Please let me know your feedback
    Thanks,
    Mahesh

  • Issue with Scanning Files...

So I have a program that scans a file and does a bunch of stuff with it...I won't go into details too much, as it's not relevant.
Basically, if the file didn't exist, it would return an error message. If the file existed, but the input inside the file wasn't formatted properly, it would return a different error message for each possible issue. I've done all that. But now I have a file that I know is in the workspace, properly formatted, but when i call it in the console, it claims I have an invalid file name. That is, the error that I get if the file doesn't exist. I think it's an issue buried deep into my code, and it's driving me crazy.

without thinking.Which is in my experience is the biggest problem with uni students, they just don't think.I think you have to put more into that category than just uni students--beginners and casual users in general, but as far as uni students, I've found grad students are by far worse than any of the undergrads. To get a degree in CS at the uni I went to (ages ago) each student had to do a block of "consulting", basically fielding any and all questions in the computer lab, for an entire semester. Undergrades you cold reason with, but "most" or the grad stufents that came, already knew "No under grad could ever help them." It was humorous to see these guys' project dying on the most simple errors and they couldn't get it through their head what it was. I saw one guy fish through his core dump for 2+ weeks to verify exactly what one of the student consultants told him after looking at his code for 30 seconds: he refused to beleive that was the problem, would not ever consider it to try and then changed labs after he found it was just that simple.Amen to that.
IMHO, there should be two default units in any CS degree- Problem Solving 101 and How To Debug 101. Not only would it solve half the problems on here (and in life) before they come up, it makes you less dependent on any one language.
I'm the first to admit that I have been guilty of, and will probably be guilty of in the future, bad debugging and/or problem solving practices. But I'll learn through experience to approach them better. If I'd been taught those at university, then I'd be a much more powerful programmer than I currently am.

  • Issues with "go daddy" email

I'm setting up do daddy email on my iPad, I can receive and even send email, but I can't get the curser into the subject line or into the body of the text? The settings appear to be correct.  Anyone have any ideas?

I dont care if its one year old or ten. I am having this problem NOW.
And no, i dont want to log into go daddys webmail everytime I check my email. I want to use my mac mail which i use on my laptop and my iphone and is all synched up and has smart folders, etc, etc. web mail is lame and inefficient.
Godaddy works fine for a couple weeks, then has all sorts of problems. Then it works ffine for a month - then problems. Just trying to see if others have the same issue and what they did to resolve it - besides ditching godaddy and finding someone else, which I will do at a last resort. I never had these problems with Cox, but Cox does not support IMAP, so I switched to GoDaddy because they do. Been having sporadic problems ever since.

  • Issue with SODIS and email with attachment

    Hello all,
I am using CL_BCS classes in report to send the PDF output as an attachment to the email ids.
I also have a standard disclosure template active in the SODIS with some text paragraphs.
When it is active, the BODY of the email which is generated through the programs gets appended in a text (.txt) file and in the email I get this as an additional attachment along with the attachment.
If i deactivate the SODI disclosure, then there is only 1 attachment and that is of PDF file . The body prepared from the email program appears on the email body whcih is correct.
So it seems, the SODIS is forcing the content of the email to be appended in a .txt file which comes as an attachment in the email and what is strange is this is happening in only 1 system. If i run the same pgm on another system, everything works fine.
Does any body have an idea what could be wrong ?
    BR
    Nilesh

    Hello,
this is the normal behaviour, if you use the disclosure option.
In this case the mailbody will only contain the disclosure text, and
all the other informations will be added as an attachment.
    This behaviour cannot be changed.

    Wen Peng

  • Issue with comcast sent email syncing between IPad and MacBook Air

When sending email from comcast account on my iPad the emails  don't show up in sent mail on my MacBook mail application, why not? This is a problem when following up on key communications during a consulting project.

That's because Comcast for the majority of account uses POP email, and with POP all sent and downloaded mail is local to the device. Received mail can be set not to be automatically erased from the server and hence downloaded and read on multiple systems, but sent mail is not and can only be viewed in the sending system. Hence you have to sync the email by some other means, such as through iTunes to see it all on multiple devices.
Comcast does have a "beta" of IMAP, where all mail, send and received, is kept on their servers. If you're interested in that, see:
    https://xcsignup.comcast.net/onboardingapps/imap

    HI All
My partner and I have both brought E71's, I set up access to my email easily then went to do my partners phone and we get up to the enter email address step and it kicks us out and wont let us enter a password or anything....not sure what is going on or how to fix this??

    @splash24
Don't know from which country you are posting, but are you both on same network?
For example in UK Orange is the only provider of Nokia Messaging and other network users have to decline terms of service and set up manually.

  • Getting SMPT password issues with a godaddy email

For the longest time I have been unable to send out reply messages on a godaddy email account I've added onto my phone.  I can receive messages fine, but when trying to respond I get the following error message:
"Cannot Send Mail No passord provided for SMPT:[email protected]@smtpout.secureserver.net
Please go to Mail account settings and enter a password"
I know for a fact the password is correct.
What can I try to fix this issue?
    Thanks.

I found a 2nd place to put the password & it seems to be working now thanks.  It's been like this over a year.  Shame on me.
    Thanks.

My Yahoo account was hacked and I had to change the password. Tried to update it through settings and I'm getting the message Server Unavailable. Try again later. Yes, Yahoo is known for this. - connection to server failed or unavailable.

  • TS4006 Issue with receiving notification  emails !

I use to receiving notification  emails each time i log into " find my iPhone " , but now i receive it just if i inter from new device , how can i receive  those emails again ?

    Hi,
Request and Response should be part of same agreement. I hope you are not confused between Acknowledgement and Response. Acknowledgement can be received in the same session (sync mode) but Response will always come in a different session and will be treated as a different document. If, for request, party A is initiator and B is responder then for response party B will be initiator and party A will be responder (as Requset and Response are two docs in case of Custom Document)
For configuring X-Path, please refer section 8.3.11 Configuring the XPath Expression for a Custom XML Document at below link -

On an old PC I had CS4 installed and 2 scanners connected, when imported images via scaner i was able to keep the scan window open to easily scan more pictures after finishing working on the first image. When I installed CS5 on a new computer the scan windows locks CS5 unil i close the window.
    How do i resolve this?
    // Fredrik

Are you using the same scanner? Have you installed the same driver? If you use a different scanner or different drivers/operating system, the behaviour of the Scan Import will vary...
