It appears that my desktop Aspire Z5801 is not on the list for an available update to Windows 10?

Any yet my 8 year old Sony laptop is?My big screen desktop is 4 years old ..still so diappointed on finding this.Hope further updates are coming to make comaptible for those not "on the list?"

Your system is not listed as an eligible model on the Acer website but that does not mean your system will not support the upgrade itself. What that means is Acer will not be uploading Windows 10 drivers to our support website for your system.
According to Microsoft you have to meet these requirements for your system to support the upgrade:
Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster
RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) (32-bit) or 2 GB (64-bit)
Free hard disk space: 16 GB (32-bit) or 20GB (64-bit)
Graphics card: Microsoft DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM driver A Microsoft account and Internet access
I have upgraded a couple systems here that are not on the list and they are working fine, if that helps.

I have an Aspire V5 471P, also not on the list. Is there any reason for these exclusions? What options do we have? Seems kind of strange that some of us should be penalized for no apparent reason. I bought my model at an Office Depot, no different than any other Acer models that might be bought in large chain retail stores. I've loved previous Acers I've had, but this one has been problematic since the beginning. Now I may not be able to upgrade and will be stuck with terrible Windows 8.1? Please advise.

So nearly every Aspire V5 model but mine is in need of new drivers but mine isn't? I find that kind of difficult to believe. This is par for the course though now I think with Acer--minimal support, if any. I'll have to spend time going to websites of each of the hardware components to see if it'll work, look for chipset drivers, etc., just because Acer had decided that some of its customers are simply out of luck. I'll replace this computer as soon as it's financially possible since it has been problematic literally since Day 1 (had to call support). This is my third Acer--there will be no fourth. Hopefully I'll be able to go with Apple and avoid this Microsoft/PC manufacturer nonsense altogether. Microsoft AND Acer should be ashamed of the quality of their products over the past couple of years...

A web site that I use daily has disappeard from my "Most Visited" list. In spite of my continued use of the site plus deletion of other sites that I seldom use, thus making room on the list for the site I want to be listed there, it doesn't.

A bookmarked web site for weather that I use daily - often more than once a day - has disappeared from my Most Visited list. I have to open Bookmarks to access the weather site. So the site is still there, but not on the Most Visited list. Your browser has been hijacked. You can test it by going to any search site besides scroogle and looking up antivirus, malware removal, or any other term like that. It will show you the results but you wont be able to go to any of those pages. In my opinion this is the worst kind of virus because it is so hard to get rid of. You'll remove it and it will self replicate and you'll have it again. Scroogle works because it acts as a proxy between you and the search site google. Follow that guys directions who replied before me. When that doesn't work try to get a copy of Stopzilla antivirus. I had my browser hijacked once and that got rid of it. If that doesnt work, download the Comodo web browser. They give away a month of free Geekbuddy assistance with their browser. Use it. Chances are you will have to contact an IT proffesional of some sort anyway. But you'll never feel really clean again and you'll become paranoid about using the web and you'll get every popup blocker and java script stopper there is. But that still won't be enough and you'll dump windows altogether becuase there just are'nt that many viruses that work on Linux.... oh wait.. that was me...

You are not going to be able to run your old system from the backup on this old computer as the hardware is incompatible.
You need to get a new computer or a refurbished one.

The iphone is not a storage device.
The music sync is one way - computer to iphone. The exception being itunes purchases.
You need to copy everything from the old computer, or your backup copy of your old computer, to the new one.

I just upgraded to Mavricks and get this when I try to launch Remote Desktop:

I tried removing the application and reinstalling it to no avail. Any suggestions?

TS1702 I updated to iOS6 and the Passbook shows as an icon on the phone, but not in the list of applications. Is this a useless app at this point? And, the maps - not nearly as nice as Google. (Sheesh, did I just say that?)

When I try to install Connection Broker on a Windows 2012 R2 Server in a Windows 2003 domain I get this error:

But it still does not work :-(

Thank you for posting in Windows Server Forum.
Firstly please let us know by which method you have setup RDS role. You can have more advantage and feature when you will install with Standard deployment instead of Quick start deployment. So if you have setup with quick start option then you can try installing
with standard type and check the result.
In addition, please check SQL server database is properly configured for RDS server. Also check that domain controller properly communicates. Kindly go through below thread for more information.

Click the arrow at the far right (outside) of the Folder field (i.e. not the one in the Folder field) in the "Edit This Bookmark" window to access the complete folder list.<br />
This full folder list also opens if you click the drop marker in the Folder field and click the "Choose..." item.<br />
If folders in the list aren't expanded then look for a possibly faint arrow icon to expand/open the folders.

do you have a more recent backup and that's what it's saying you can restore from? it's possible that backup overwrote your previous one. in itunes on the computer go to edit > preferences > devices, and see what backups you have there

Generally, when you install Lync 2013 in the computer with Office 2010, a Lync Meeting Add-in will be installed and enabled in Outlook 2010. Please follow these steps to check it:
1. In Outlook, click the File tab, click Options, and then click
Add-Ins.
2. Please take one of the following actions:
If the add-in is in the Inactive Application Add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click
COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
b. Click to select the check box next to the add-in, and then click OK.
The New Online Meeting button should now be available in
Calendar View, and the Online Meeting button should be available when you create a new calendar item.
If the add-in is in the Disabled Application add-ins list, follow these steps:
a. In the Manage drop-down list at the bottom of the dialog box, click

I currently run OS X 10.10.1
Now i have been trying to work on this for a while now and what i want to do should be simple but its apparently not.
Here is an example of what i want to happen.
I will have 2 tabs: Contact | Sales
Now Contacts will have the list of names and various information about a customer, While Sales will have one drop-down box for each Cell Row that will show the names of the person in tab contacts
for what i am wanting to do i cant use the data format pop-up menu because the list is edited everyday several times a day.
Now how do i do this, Excel can do this so how can numbers do it?

How can I get missing contacts, notes, calendar dates and reminders that are just on my old iphone onto the iCloud for transfer to my new iPhone upgrade? Half of my contacts, notes, ect. were on my iCloud so have happily moved to my new iPhone but the rest are completely resistant. For example, on my iCloud I have 14 missing contacts starting with the letter A alone, however they are happily viewable on my old iPhone 4S and won't budge over into the iCloud.
There are also 3 notes missing yet still acessible on my onld iPhone 4S, the list goes on.
Your help would be most appreciated. Thank you so much.
