It is impossible to update the latest BIOS for Satellite L40-17S
First of all why are there so many BIOS updates in a short time? I get my brand new L40-17S (20/05/08) with the BIOS 1.70, the Tempro software from Toshiba give me the warning to update it to 1.80 that works fine, after a few day's a new warning update it to 1.90 and now 2.00 in June! The problem is that I can't update anymore above 1.80, when I click on the winflash.exe only a short screen and then nothing.

I really want to have the latest BIOS before I install SP1.

Who knows seems Toshiba releases the drivers and BIOS like the Microsoft own Windows patches do you known a Microsoft patch day? ;)

Ive got a notebook which is about 3 years old and there are newest BIOS updates for my notebook but I have never done a BIOS update.
Its not necessary because the machine runs troublefree

How to find the latest BIOS for my T60P?
Dear Experts,
I own a T60P 2007FBG which I like very much cause it still works like a charm. I'm interested in uploading the latest BIOS but, unfortunately, "my" model type isn't listed on Lenovo's website:

My guess is that you need to clear your selection on the support site before trying the quick path or following my other link. By the way, the drivers on the linked to page will be relevant to your system, 2007 is the important relevant part in the MTM as far as drivers and BIOS are concerned.

What is the latest BIOS for a PXI-8175 comtroller
I need to know what the latest BIOS is for a PXI-8175 and how to down load it.
The latest version of the BIOS for the PXI-8175 is 1.75.

Why can't I download the latest BIOS for the H50-55

Sorry to hear you have encountered additional problems.
Try clearing the CMOS. Sometimes after a BIOS Update the new BIOS will have a conflict with the information stored in the CMOS which can cause a boot up failure. By clearing the CMOS the currently stored information will be erased and on the next reboot the computer will refresh that information.
To do.... unplug the computer and remove the coin cell battery from the motherboard. The battery's socket will have either a little tab that when pressed will eject the battery or a slot in which a small screw driver can be used to lightly pry the battery up. Once the battery is removed, press and hold the power button for 15 seconds. Then reinstall the battery, plug the computer in and see if the computer will now boot. -

The Toshiba European driver page provides BIOS for XP and BIOS for Vista.
Both BIOS versions must be executed while the operating system is running!
If you use the Linux on your notebook, you will be not able to update the BIOS!!!

I bought a A100-749 (PSAARE) in France and I would like to update a firmware. I found a firmware version 5.90 for model PSAAR (there is no PSAARE so i think this model match) and inside the archive there are two files:

Which firmware should i use?

Thanksno, you are wrong, download the firmware for psaar and look what is inside the archive, there is a flasher (WinPhlash.exe) and after execution you need to specify the rom file, inside archive there are two roms mentioned above, the flasher don't choose the file automatically, you have to do it manually
there is also another exe file (SA10Flash.exe - probably this is a flasher, WinPhlash.exe is just a graphical interface) and using it also you have to specify a rom file
someone told me that s10gm590.rom is for Intel 945GM chipset (with graphic card built-in) and s10pm590.rom for Intel 945PM chipset (without graphics). it means that for my laptop s10pm590.rom is correct

Satellite Pro A300D-161 why i can't download the latest Bios from Toshiba
Hi,
i want your help because i can't download the latest Bios for my notebook from toshiba-europe support page.
Either internet expoler 8, either firefox can't open the Bios download page.
Why is that problem? Is thre anyway to fix it?
Does anyone has the same problem with me?
Note: I'm using windows xp and the version of the bios is *3.10*v dated +30/4/2009+.

Do I have the latest Bios?
okay, I believe I updated my BIOS.
When I ran the disk, I selected option 1 which *I hope* was the right option. It seemed
successul. I have gone to RUN> and typed in system information and get the following:
SMBIOS Version: 2.6
is that correct? I have successfully updated my BIOS?
Also, what were the two options when running the BIOS upgrade? I wasn't clear on what all the
terminology meant nad if I was doing the correct procedure or not or do I need to do both?

Here is the link to see the BIOS updates for the W520, on the bottom of the site there are instructions to determine which version you currently have. You can find all of your Drivers and Updates from the Lenovo W520 Driver Matrix.
There are two ways to update the BIOS:
1. EXE file - this is what many people do because they can do it inside Windows which is more convenient. But it can also carry a certain amount of risk. If something goes wrong, you could potentially be left with an incomplete update thus bricking the machine and requiring a motherboard replacement under warranty. I recommend doing a system backup before any BIOS update or changes.
2. .ISO file - an ISO is a CD or DVD image encapsulated on the file. You can burn the file to a CD or DVD with a tool like ImgBurn. After the CD/DVD is created, you can boot the W520 from it and follow the instructions to update the BIOS. This is more of a hassle but considered safer because there is a reduced amount of risk another program might interfere with the update process and leave it incomplete.
If all of this sounds scary, I would recommend finding an IT Professional, Partner or Service professional to do this for you. All Lenovo Products come with a 1 Year Limited Warranty, if you would like to have more in depth troubleshooting or support, do not hesitate to contact your support center. I was updating the latest version for my I-phone 4s and now my phone is frozen. It will not shut off. When I try to shut it off it shows an i-tunes connection and then goes black.

Music player problem after updating the latest ver...
After updating the latest version for my phone, everything seems perfect. But today i see there is a serious problem of the music player. I still can play the music but i cannot change to another song or exit the player because whenever i do that, it is frozen (only music player).

I restored the phone using the backup file but it didnot help me. I cannot play even 3 songs consecutively, the player is getting hang and I am forced to restart. Please do not update your firmware. All the problems after I updated my firmware to 40.0.005 version. I am planning to take my phone to nokia care and reset the whole software once again so that it comes with the factory settings.
