It says I'm "not authorized" to play some songs, and they won't sync. help!
Ok, so I've been having problems with this before.. my iTunes would say that I was not "authorized" to play certain random songs for no apparent reason and I would authorize them, sometimes it would work, sometimes it wouldn't. But now I just got my new iPod nano and only about half of my songs synced to it because of this. So many of them "are not authorized" to be played! Does anyone know why this may be, or how I could fix this? I would really like to be able to listen to ALL of my music.

Could be a corrupt download of that song...

Error message when syncing says I'm not authorized to play the songs
I connected my nano to my laptop via USB port to recharge the nano. The songs normally automatically sync at the same time, no problem, but this time I got an error message saying it couldn't sync some songs because I'm "not authorized to play them on this computer." What should I do (or have done) differently?
2GB Windows XP ProPlay one of the songs on your computer or use the Authorize Computer command from the Store menu in iTunes; this will authorize your computer to play the music and transfer it to your iPod.

IPod not updating cuz I'm not authorized to play some songs on my computer
I updated to the newest Itunes version, but my ipod won't update with the songs that I purchased from Itunes. It did update the songs that I burned from a CD.
The error message is: Some of the songs in the ITunes music library were not copied to your IPod because you are not authorized to play them on this computer.
I went to advanced --> Deauthorize computer, and tried to click off of the top setting, which is "Deauthorize Computer for Music Store Account" but could not click off of that.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Anting

I purchased a song on my iPhone and synced my iPhone to my MAC iTunes. The song used to play on my iPhone. Now it won't. I have tried taking it off and putting it back on, but that has not worked. I tried reauthorizing, but the computer tells me it is already authorized. I have a few songs in my library by this name, but by different bands. Could this be the problem? How do I fix it?
Hi,
Try deleting track from your computer then redownload from iTunes Store>purchased.

I try to play the Itunes song I purchased. I have a new computer, another internet provider since I purchased the songs, and have switched to a new internet browser Internet Explorer 8. I keep getting a dialog box saying "this computer is not authorized to play the song. would you like to authorize it?
An old Apple ID popps up and I am asked for the old passwork which I no longer remember. I successfully changed to a new Apple ID and password.
when I enter that, a new dialog box appears, saying "this computer is already authorized." When I try to play the song the first box appears again,
I I go round over and over, with no success playing my songs. Can anybody out their resolve this? Thanks for any helpWere these songs purchased using another account?
" I opened a new iTunes account and copied the files to the new account. "
Do you mean to a new library?

When I click on a song iTunes tells me it is not authorized to play this song but when I authorize it, it tells me the computer is already authorized. What do I do to play the songs?
Delete the song from your Itunes music list, then redownload it, Itunes will ask you if you if you want to download it for free. This seems to be the fix for my problems.

iTunes skips a song. It tells me, "This computer is not authorized to play this song. Would you like to authorize it?" So I enter my password. Then it tells me, "This computer is already authorized." But when I try to play it, it's still "not authorized".

I tried that with one song and it charged me for it. I've got hundreds of songs my new iMac won't play! Help!
If you purchased the song from the iTunes Store go to your purchase history and re-download it from there. You will not be charged again.

Hi! I bought a song on itunes, and now it won't play on my computer or iPod. Itunes on my computer keeps telling me that I'm not authorized to play the song on my computer, even after reauthorizing it. Is there anything I can do to play the song?

"This computer is not authorized to play" (favorite song)
I opened iTunes and clicked on my favorite song, but I get this error message that the computer is not authorized to play the song. I've changed my Apple ID and password, but my favorite song won't play. Other songs on the playlist will play just fine, but my favorite song gets skipped over.
I got the same error message earlier today when I tried to play a movie trailer in the iTunes Store. I had to shut down my iMac and then switch it on again just to watch the trailer.
Anybody have any ideas?I have the same problem! I purchased some music today from the iTunes Store and it skips over one of the songs I downloaded. I deauthorized and authorized my computer and it still gave me the error. Bit fed up with it at the moment!

"This computer is not authorized to play this song" How...?
This is the message that was displayed on a friend's computer when trying to play a song. A box then appeared with an email address, asking for the password. What method was this song put onto this computer if the computer is not authorized to play this song, that I assume was purchased from Itunes.
Not sure of your question. If you put songs that you have purchased from itunes on a friend's PC, then you have to authorize that PC in itunes to play them.

I just downloaded an album but one song won't play instead a message that "This computer is not authorized" to play the song. The prompt has a log in and when I log in it tells me the computer is already authorized. What gives? Specifically the album is Flying Lotus - Until the Quiet Comes and the song is DMT Song (feat. Thundercat). I purchased the entire album and it even played fine the first listen through.
Hi,
If you are in a country that permits redownloads, delete track and go to iTunes Store > purchased and redownload. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2519

I purchased a song on this Mac, an authorized computer. I am now getting a message that this computer is not authorized to play the song. When I provide my username and password to authorize my computer, the song is still not authorized. Why?
iTunes repeatedly prompts to authorize computer to play iTunes Store purchases - http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1389. If your country permits re-downloads, delete the file and re-download.
