IT-Servicemanagement - Selection of Categories

Hi experts,
we using the IT-Servicemanagement which is based on Solution Manager 7.1 SP8.
We are already having around 10 000 changes/incidents on SP8.
However, we are always facing the problem, that endusers are selecting the wrong categories.
Today we did think about a possibility, not only to select category step by step, also to provide a searching-functionlity.
So that the users don't needs to know exactly where is the category.
I mean a similar functility, which SAP provides on Service Marketplace at creating an Incident (Component-Selection).
Does someonw know, if there is a functionlity in standard or how to achieve this?

    The interesting thing is that the user
    is able to arrange her own mailboxes messages in that fashion with no such problems.

    Thank you for your response Allen; however, the issue is not with Tasks, but with Messages.
    For example, if the user selects an email with the Categories "REMINDER", then clicks on
    Categories column heading at the top of the window to arrange the messages.
    (It doesn't matter if they arrange from A to Z or Z to A.) Then the window with the list of messages focuses on messages with no Categories, rather than on the messages with the Categories "REMINDER". The user then has to scroll
    up or down to find the emails with the Categories "REMINDER" and the folder has hundreds of messages.
    I appreciate the suggestions. I will try them and let you know if either works or not. Thank you!

    I have created a list of construction works in categories with subtotals for each article.

    Yes, using the Reorganize control. It's done in the opposite order though—create the (parent) category, then create the subcategories.
    Detailed instructions are available in Chapter 3, Using Tables, of the Numbers '09 User Guide. The guide may be downloaded through the Help menu in Numbers. A search on 'categories' will take you to the TOC page where you can click to go directly to the discussion of Categories and Sub categories.

  • Registration of Suppliers to New Product Categories

    As we have seen, during registration of new suppliers, system offers a list of product categories to select. System sends questionnaires related to the selected product categories, to prospective supplier's email ID. The supplier submits answers to these question. The buyer will scrutinize the details, registers him as supplier and also maintains supplier list for the product categories which he has requested.
    Now the supplier is interested in some more product categories. So he has to select some more product categories. The system should send him a questionnaires for those product category. The buyer will scrutinize the answers submitted by the supplier and maintains supplier list for those product categories.
    How to map this scenario in standard SAP?

    i assume that supplier want to register some more product category which is not in the system . sorry if i understood wrong.
    or it is just understanding between buyer and supplier.
    There is no fixed rule that whatever supplier register the product category and he will receive the PO or contract.
    It is understanding between Buyer and Supplier what type of product category supplier expert to do service for the purchase organisation.
    Whatever product category is existed in the ROS system the same only can be registered by the Supplier.
    Because purchase organisation uses only some product category which they wants for their organisation.
    For ex
    step 1:-BREAKS product category - TVS registerd in the ROS system and become supplier
    step 2:- again TVS supplier want to add WHEELS product category ? and expects a questionaire for WHEELS from the Purchase organisation?

  • Item Categories in Popup

    Hi,
    We have a requirement where we need the Popup for Item categories in Opportunity which is like after selecting the Opportunity type we should get another Popup of Item categories.  Is this possible with standard confirguration. 
    We are using the PCUI.

    Hi Naveen,
    The Item categories are automatically assgined once you select the products. This functionality of creating pop ups to select Item Categories is not possible both in PC UI as well as SAP GUI.
    There cannot be any pop ups assigned for ITEM categories, simple because one Item can have only one item category. This functionality is not possible

  • Categories missing from transactions (Employee Requests)

    Hi,
    We are on SAP 5.0, using EIC scenario
    We have an issue,
    1) User create a employee request and select 4 level categories defined
    2) Saves the document, does some activity like changing the partners or so on and comesback using bread crumps
    Problem------> the categories are missing
    3) The user selects the categories and saves and ends
    4) user open the transaction and finds the categories  are missing
    we have applied all the notes as asked by SAP
    PS: this problem occurs occassionaly and very rare, we are not able to reproduce this in out other systems
    Can any one help, this is very very urgent

    PRTC Shows all the transactions...Nothing is missing there...but the problem is
    the Document number(reciept number) is repeating twice for those missing transactions and not paid from FI.
    Here is how it shows:

    12 reciepts are there in this report with duplicated reciept number and 1 reciept not duplicated but not showed up in the trip.
    when i see the report (Travel expense statement)..The amount Paid by company only shows for 37 reciepts..and iam not able to find what happend to the missing 13 reciepts...and thru the PRTC report it shows that all the reciepts are being used in the trip and iam sure that SAP will not let us delete the reciepts from the buffer.
    Please let me know if you have any idea how to get this...in worst case i can reload the 13 entries into the buffer and create the new trip but i want to find out what happend to those reciepts.

    Hello Venkat,
    Yes , it is possible to replicate the selected product categories form R/3.
    This can be achieved as follows. when you are defining the middleware settings for the customizing objects using the trasaction R3AC3. Here you will set the filter(3rd tab) based on the material group and activate the object adapter.

  • Selecting Multiple Members for Allocation SP7

    Before upgrading to SP7 from SP3, I could select multiple product categories in my data manager for allocation, ex. PROD_CAT_001,PROD_CAT_001,PROD_CAT_001 and then my allocation would run smoothly. But after the upgrade, whenever I select more than one product category, I'm now encountering this error:

    I revised my code as shown below but I still get the same error. I really want to avoid selecting all product categories since there would be 450 members so I don't use select statements. I just want to select the product categories that have values so there would be no need to loop all 450 members because it's causing my logic to hang when validate and save it. Any suggestion on how I can select product categories that have value only?

  • FTP x64 Install - Error at Selecting Packages

    After I begin the 2nd step from the main menu, to select the packages, I get to choose a server, but after doing so it just shows me a message saying something about "refreshing" before it quickly closes and returns me back to the main menu again. I then press select packages again and get to select the server again, after which the checklist appears (that would normally display the packages to select), but instead of the names of the packages, it just says "Error:     ^" on the first line and "Expected     ^" on the second. If I try again it just adds another pair of "Error:     ^" and "Expected     ^" on the third and fourth line and so on as I keep trying (If I select cancel the lines are cleared).
    Edit: btw, this is what the "Select Package Categories" checklist looked like after the first try

    I had considered that my last post wasn't my usual  'as thorough as possible'  was busy and also not quite sure what I could add that would be helpful.
    Basically whether I was installing in vbox or not is probably a non-issue..
    i've had the error before with FTP installs...
    as I recall I could ALWAYS get around the problem by making SURE I had a net connection via wire that worked and then the actual problem my end I could always overcome by re-formatting the drive FROM within the arch install routine....
    so basically if I went back and repartitioned the drive all would be well....
    my guess is that there may be something that's fixed or soon to be fixed in the install.....dunno though...
    Also, I LOVE and ONLY do FTP installs now.... I get a better sense of 'clean' when doing one...
    Well, I hope you can see from the above that I didn't really know how to elaborate earlier.... this all may not be that helpful.

  • Filter Panel - Add Categories

    I use the Filter Panel extensively when editing images in ACR.  Does anyone know how to add categories from the EXIF data to the Filter Panel?  I want to select images where the flash hasn't fired so I can adjust them separately to those where the flash has fired.  Obviously there is a significant White Balance disparity between the two.  "Select Filter Categories" is greyed out when I right-click on the Panel.  Can't for the life of me find anything that helps with this.

      Yes, well if Adobe want to have an item in their menu that says "Select Filter Categories" then maybe clicking on that should let you choose from the EXIF data at least.
    As said, that can be quit a long list and also possible scrolling needed, but you can add your idea as a feature request, the link for this is present at the main Bridge Forum Page. The more that wish for it the higher chance it eventually will be realized.
    Given they price-gouge their Australian customers by charging us more than they charge US customers, they are not on my list of good corporate citizens.
    You can't simple compare prizes between different countries, this has also to do with the amount of potential customers, promotion budget etc etc. and often VAT and other taxes, US normally does not include VAT in advertising.
    But I agree, somehow other people seem to have it better then ourselves...

    I did Tutorial: Displaying Database Info in the Missing Manual for Dreamweaver CS5.5.
    My problem is with "Editing a Recordset and Linking to a Detail Page" (which starts at pg 1002:
    I did this exercise ,over 5 times nowe, but every time with "Building the Detailed Product Page" at pg 1007, I get a bad result.
    I only get one page (the default one with productID = 1) for every link on the indexpage.
    In the adressbar (Live View) I see the right adress: for example: http://localhost/cos...hp?productID=16, but for all productID's only the detailspage for productID are shown.
    There is also a message: Notice: Use of undefined constant ‘productID’ - assumed '‘productID’' in E:\xampp\htdocs\cosmo_shop\product.php on line 34
    But I don't understand what could be wrong in this line.
    Here is the code lines 33 -48: is is about the second line:

    I can manually type in double brackets, like this:
    $varProduct_rsDetails = "1";

    this is accepted; no syntax-error report.
    I can manually type in single brackets, like this:
    $varProduct_rsDetails = "1";
    if (isset($_GET['productID'])) {
      $varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET['productID'];
    this is also accepted; no syntax-error report.
    Dreamweaver itself made this code:
    $varProduct_rsDetails = "32";
    if (isset($_GET[‘productID’])) {
    $varProduct_rsDetails = $_GET[‘productID’];
    this was not OK; there was a syntax-error report.
    But strange enough, when I do paste this now from here, it is accepted.
    So the problem has been, that DW created code that gave a syntax error.
    I could repair it by replacing the single qoutes of DW, by typing single quotes in DW manually, or by typing in in DW manually double qoutes!!!
    So maybe everybode was right!!!
    But is was a very bad problem; maybe a "bug" of the program?
    I repeated this about 10 times before I got the solution frome this Forum.

  • I get a blank white screen on iTunes Games page

    I can load every other page in the iTunes store to my knowledge, but for some reason when I go to the Games section of the App Store I get a blank white screen. This has been occuring for months. I have the latest version of iTunes and have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the program. I am running on a Macbook OS X Mountain Lion Version 10.8.4

    Same boat here.  Has been an issue where I have not been able to select any categories beyond the App home page.  Everything comes up blank.  It started a few months ago with just the Games page coming up blank.  Now it has spread to all categories within the App Store.  All my purchases have mostly been either off the main page or on the iPod istelf.  Is starting to get frustrating.
    Have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes a number of times.  Defragged and cleaned up the hard drive.
    I am running:
    -iTunes (11.1).
    -Windows XP (SP 3)
    Connected devices:
    -iPod Touch 5th gen (iOS 6.1.3)
    -iPad 2 (iOS 6.1.3)
    -iPod Touch 2nd gen (4.2.1)
    -iPod Touch 2nd gen (4.2.1)
    Any and all advice is welcome.

  • Authorization check based on item category on sales order (VA01 or VA02)

    I want to be able to restrict authorization of users based on item category. We only want certain users to be able to select a certain item category.  I know I'm going to have to check one of the userexits in MV45AFZZ. The issue I'm having is the authorization object .
    The item category is field VBAP-PSTYV.
    What we are going is having a item category for emergency orders. But this requires more manual steps to associate with the original order. We already have the emergency item categories defined and working (no credit check etc) so there's no reason not to have them added to the original order. The issue is its use has to be restricted so when the user selects an alternative item category it checks whether they have the authority.   
    Any help would be appreciated

    You can achieve this through authorization objects.
    Transaction
    SU20 - Authorization Fields
    SU21 - Authorization Objects
    Create the field PSTYV in the Authorization Fields.
    Then Create the authorization object and include this field along with the standard field ACTVT (which determines what activities can be performed by a certain user i.e. Create, Change or Display) & user-name
    In your your-exit, you can either use the ABAP command AUTHORITY-CHECK or the function-module AUTHORITY_CHECK and pass the values for these fields. The system can perform the test based on this values & based on the sy-subrc value you can restrict the users that are not having the authorization to select item-categories for emergency orders.
