Item Check out/in in content areas published as portlet

I have a content area I have published as a portlet. I have noticed that if I add an item (a file) and enable item check out, the icon to check out the file doesn't appear in the portlet. You have to open the content area in the content area navigation page to get the check out/in icon (and a few others.) Is there a way to do this inside the portlet?
Thanks
null

This is the intended behaviour, to simplify the portlet interface. You'll notice, too, that you can't edit a checked-out item in the portlet.
This will all change in the 3.1 release of the product.

Jerry

  • OneNote file cannot be synced because Check-in Check-Out or Required Properties are enabled in the SharePoint library

    Hi All,
As per my requirement, I have a Document Library that's set to YES  for "Require documents to be checked out before they can be edited" and i have created a Document Set inside this Document Library.Document set is configured
to create a OneNote document content type within it. When i am creating a OneNote document I am getting below mentioned Error while trying to sync.
This section cannot be synced because Check-in Check-Out or Required Properties are enabled in the SharePoint library. Disable Check-In Check-Out and Required Properties or move this notebook to a different location. (Error code: 0xE000078E)
Is there any settings that i can do without modifying Document Library Settings.
I just try out the information given on below mentioned U, but No Luck.

Can anyone of you suggest me the best way to achieve this?
    Thanks in Advance!

Have you looked specifically at the Title field?  That's a common offender.  It might also be worth activating Content Type management on your library, so you can inspect each of the fields in the content type that's being saved too

  • Enable Item Check-Out

In "Checking an item in and out" topic of help:To check in and check out an item, the Enable Item Check-Out attribute must be selected for the item.
But I can not find the option of "Enable Item Check-Out".

You should edit the item's properties and in the 'Secondary' tab you can find a checkbox for 'Enable Item Check-Out'.
    Thanks,

  • Posting a content area as a portlet.

I am using a combination of content area portlets and PDK developed portlets. When I publish the folders in the content areas as a portlet they can sometimes be added to a page and sometimes cannot. All the time they show up on the provider list but I cannot understand why sometime I can add them and sometime I cannot add them to a page. All things are remaining the same.
Is there some checklist that I run against to see where I am going wrong?
    Thanks in advance.

Did you try refreshing your portlet repository? What release of Portal are you currently using? Which version of the PDK? On which platform?

  • Cannot publish a folder in my content area as a portlet

    All,
Has anyone out there experienced or encountered the following problem depicted below. If yes, please let me know what you did or what steps/procedures you implemented to resolve this problem.
    1. Go to content area an click the "Edit Folder" link.
    2. Click the "Create Folder" link an select "container" as your folder type.
    3. Click the next button and enter your folder display name and internal name. Leave the Category combo box as is General).
    4. Click the finish button.
    5. Edit the new folder.
    6. Under the "Portlet Properties" section, set the "publish as portlet" checkbox.
    7. Click the "Apply" or "Ok" button.
When I click the "apply" or "Ok" button, I receive the following error message:
    Error: (WWS-00000)
Copyright) 2001, Oracle Corporation. All Rights Reserved
    Location: PORTAL30.wwv_main.main?p_language=us&p_cornerid=11470&p_edit=1&p_siteid=35&p_currcornerid=11470&p_calledfrom=1
I then click the "back" link on this error page that takes me back to the folder properties page. When I click the "apply" or "ok" button again, I am taken back to my content area page, which is the normal way for this process to work.
When I try adding a "URL" item to this folder, I get a blank page after hitting OK.
Next, I then try to add this folder as a portlet on my page. This folder portlet does not appear in portlet repository.
I subsequently go to the portlet repository and click the "refresh" link. I again encounter the following error message:
    Error: (WWS-00000)
Copyright) 2001, Oracle Corporation. All Rights Reserved
    Location: http://www.reeis.usda.gov/servlet/page?_pageid=52&_dad=portal30&_schema=PORTAL30&_type=site&_fsiteid=2&_fid=1&_fnavbarid=1&_fnavbarsiteid=2&_fedit=0&_fmode=2&_fdisplaymode=1&_fcalledfrom=1&_fdisplayurl=
Oracle support is currently working on this problem through metalink. But, if anyone out there has encountered this problem and had it resolved, can you please forward your solution to me.
    This is very urgent.

In the Catalog, select the folder for the report(s) you want to update in the Folders pane. It should then appear in the Tasks pane (bottom left) with some options.
Select 'Permissions' and make sure that 'Hidden' attribute is unchecked. That worked for me.
There's also a 'Show Hidden Items' check box at the top right of the Catalog area that should be checked to view the filters in the Catalog area (rather than when ediiting a report).

  • Check-out originals from Content Server to File server?

    Hello Experts,
We have urgent requirement to check-out huge number of originals from the Content server and send to an application server (ftp server).
The input data that we can use to fetch the originals are  PHOIO nunber or LOIO or Original File name.
I tested below function module but they does not seem to meet our requirements.
    BAPI_DOCUMENT_CHECKOUTVIEW2  - Originals are checked-out to C:\Temp\
    CV120_KPRO_CHECKOUT_TO_SERVER
    CV120_KPRO_CHECKOUT_TO_TABLE
SDOK_PHIO_LOAD_CONTENT - here the content is written to table in binary mode.
    CV120_DOC_GET_FILE
Also i tested program - DMS_KPRO_READ. In this case, manual action is required to select the path in front end where the originals needs to be checked-out.
Please help if you have suitable solutions.
    Thanks!
    sandeep

    Hello Sandeep,
You can use "DMS_KPRO_READ" report to achive your purpose. In this report you will get PHIO ID & LOIO ID. with these ID's you will get originals path to download the files uploaded on content server to application server or FTP server.
Use F_BROWSE function to select all files in foreground/background to downlaod it on desktop. I have implement in my project & it is working fine till date.
    Thanks
    Pravin

  • Content area publishing date

In the Content Area in Portal, publishing and Expiration of items are only listed in the format DD-MM-YYYY. Can these be set down to the hour/minute and how/where do you change this. I have tried DD-MM-YYYY:HH but did not work.

    Robert,
You can use Dynamic Pages for that for now.
    Hope that helps.

  • Blank content area using navbar portlet

    Hi, using portal 3.0.9.8.2 win2000
I have a content area where 2 groups have the same rights (view rights on sublevel folders) I have the navigation bar, consisting of the available categories, posted as portlet as well as a few subfolders.
both roles can view and navigate the folder portlets perfectly from their respective pages. the navbar is displayed for both groups as well.
But for one group when clicking on a category in the navbar it opens the content area, the navbar is displayed but the contentarea itself remains blank.
To check I created another navbar displaying a list of folders: same result.
I deleted the group from the administer tab, recreated it and set access rights all over again within the content area for that group: same result
please help: this is driving me nuts

Try, to use Item Type URL like /pls/portal30/portal30_DEMO.TASK_HOME.SHOW, it's not good but work.

    Thank you for your help.

    Thank you for your reply。
The Server is M5000.and the storage is EMC Stroage Array,I don't know the EMC Model type too。
In some case (different machine such as V880),when we use a command “iostat -En”,it would show that there are some hard errors。
but when we reboot the system, use "iostat -En" again 。the hard errors would be 0.
But ,This Machine (M5000),it is running the very important application and i can't reboot it。
Do you need a explorer data to analysis。
    thank you for your help。
These disks shows that their capacity are 0 G.How can i to know if there are LUN or physical Disk。
