Items on ipod that do not show up on Device list, want to remove them

A pod cast and a video I downloaded from itunes and copied to my ipod are on my ipod but when I connect the ipod they do not show up on the lists of items on the device. I can see and play them on the ipod, but cannot find them on the list of items on the ipod when I connect to itunes...
I want to remove them and can't
baffled....

They should be able to help you. You must have the iPod set to manually managed. Podcasts generally work best when set to auto-sync.
To find these files it is easiest to create a smart playlist on the iPod itself with the right rules to find the files while it is set to manually manage. To delete files through a smart playlist you will need to hold the "Alt" key on the keyboard then hit the Delete key. Atl/Delete is for Mac but may be a combination of Delete and Shift, Control, or Windows key on Windows PCs.

  • TS3716 installed the new itunes and now my ipod nano  does not show in the device menu

    installed the new itunes and now my ipod nano  does not show in the device menu

    There's a couple of ways to get through to the authorisation controls in the 11.0.x versions.
    The control is still in the Store menu, but first (if you're using iTunes versions 11.0.x) you might need to bring up the menu bar to see the Store menu.
    If you're using 11.0.x, click on the wee boxy icon up in the top-left corner of your iTunes to see the "Show Menu Bar" control, as per the following screenshot:
    Then you'll find the control in the Store menu:
    Alternatively, if you don't want to bring up the menu bar, it's still possible to get into the authorise controls via nested menus accessible from the wee boxy icon. Here's a screenshot of where to find them:

  • HT3624 additional airport express not showing in wireless device list

    I have an additional AX to extend my WiFi but it's not showing in wireless device list; it is plugged in, next to base AX, did a hard-reset, amber light is blinking. Everything was working fine for a more than a year. Thank you for your help.

    I don't use Xserve but when this happens to me:
    I reset the express. I use a wireless Mac to "find" the Express. Need to select the network under the Airport icon. If not there then System prefs/netwrok/status/airport then drop down menu to preferred. If there select it and then select apply then back to that airport icon and finish by using the Airport Utility or in your case Admin utility. If not found in preferred then use the + button. I have never failed to "find" my "lost" network using this counter measure.
    If you don't have a wireless Mac then do it with an ethernet connection.

  • Apple TV does not show up in device list

    I've read all the post with the same subject but still can not get the Apple TV to show up in the device list of itunes.
    I have multiple computers on a wired/wireless network, one is a windows XP laptop machine and it sees the Apple TV fine, can sync with itunes works great. This machine is connected via wireless connection. This machine does not have my music or photos that I want to sync so I want to sync the Apple TV with my desktop, I was just using the laptop as a diagnostic tool and to better understand the interaction between itunes and the Apple TV. I have tried all the steps given and still can not get the Apple TV to show up as a device on the desktop.
    I originally had norton firewall on the desktop, uninstalled that so it would not be in the way, did not help. Windows firewall is not enabled.
    I have sharing enabled in itunes and I have look for Apple TVs enabled. I have rebooted the router, Apple TV, computers etc. Reinstalled itunes.
    I have a linksys wreless router in the system. I have tried connectnig the desktop via a wired connection as well as a wireless connection, no difference. The Apple TV can get on the wireless network fine, it can access the internet fine to play movie trailer etc. I have also connected it directly to the router via a cable, does not help. I tried connecting the desktop to the Apple TV directly with a crossed ethernet cable, did not work.
    The desktop can ping the Apple TV.
    I am assuming I do not have a problem with ports as the laptop sees the Apple TV fine?
    Any suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated

    Welcome to the Apple Discussion Forums.
    To summarise and for clarity: You have set up your laptop itunes library and it works as it should with the tv, now you are trying to add your desktop and it doesn't see the tv.
    First point: the Laptop is your primary library, you can only have one primary library and if you wish to sync from the desktop you will need to make that your primary library instead of the laptop. You will need to turn of syncing for the laptop and register the desktop with the tv for syncing first and then the laptop as a secondary (streaming only) library. If you are trying to use your desktop without de-registering the laptop it will only ever be a secondary (streaming) library.
    You may have realised this and if so all well and good, but if not you might want to continue to establish your desktop as a secondary library and satisfy yourself that all is well before turning off your laptop and setting everything up again.
    On the assumption you are setting up the desktop as a secondary library at this time, how far have you got with registering the desktop, have you successfully entered the pass codes, did the tv show in the device list at any stage. As a secondary library itunes will only show the tv in it's device list when that itunes library is selected as the source library from the tv itself, could this be why you are unable to see it in the device list.

  • EA4500 Router Device not showing up in device list - Please Help

    Hi all
    I have an EA4500 and am using Cisco Connect Cloud software. Its working mostly fine except that I have one device on the network that will not show up in the device list. This is not an issue in itself and normally I would ignore (although it used to show up when I forst got the router) however.......
    The device is a WDTVLive media unit and required access to windows shares on a media server. Now the WDTVLive device is server an ip address by the router and is available from everywhere on my network but every couple of days it loses the capacity to search windows shares.
    I know what you are thinking and I initially thought the same, this is an issue with the WDTVLive box. However one day I spent a few hours trying to resolve (Am an IT Consultant and know a little about networks) and found that I could not fix the issue. I then rebooted the router and it started working. I have since confirmed that every time it breaks I have to reboot the router.
    So I kind of think the two issues are linked.
    Sorry for the ramble. Can anyone help please.
    Thanks in advance
    Alan

    Further to this issue which I ignored as it did not really cause any issues, I recently clicked a samsung tv device which thinks that is three different devices. It has three lan addresses listed. One of the addresses listed is the original device that will not show up so I suspect that this is why it does not show up.
    It seems that I have a conflict but I can find nothing anywhere to allow me to resolve.
    I cannot even delete the Samsung TV device as its x button is not editable.
    Should I just try removing the cloud connect software. I must admit that I am starting to think that I made a bad decision with this router.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

  • A Camcorder that's not on the "Qualified Devices List.." Still work?

    I everyone. I own a Sony DCR-TRV-250 Digital 8 Hanycam Camcorder and I am looking into Final Cut Express HD, but I noticed that my camcorder is not on the qualified devices list. For those of you who know about this, is there a possibility that my camcorder may still work? Your Support Is *GREATLY* appreciated! Thanks so much.

    To use a camera with FCE, it needs to be DV and have a FireWire connection. Your TRV250 does both. Digital8 is a Sony thing, but under the covers it is a DV codec recording on a Digital8 cassette. There are some technical differences in the tape transport speed and how the magnetic recording is made on the tape compared to miniDV tapes, but the codec itself is DV, and the output via the FireWire connection is also DV. So, it should work with FCE, and iMovie too.
    The only way to know for sure is to give it a try. Find your local Apple store and take your camera there & try it. That's the same advice we'd give anyone, regarding any camera.
    Oh, and by the way, I noticed that your profile says you are running 10.0.x - for FCE-HD you need at least 10.4.6 and QT 7.0.4 - check the full specs here.

  • Apple TV not showing up in device list in iTunes

    Apple TV stopped showing up in the devices list in iTunes when I tried to sync my movies, and iTunes froze in mid-sync. Since there is no "eject" button for Apple TV in iTunes, the only thing to do was to close iTunes. When I opened it up again...no more Apple TV under devices. Apple TV works as a stand-alone and I can purchase and view using controls in Apple TV, but I can't sync iTunes with Apple TV, so all my previous purchases are stuck in iTunes until I can sync again. I have tried all the work-arounds suggested by Apple. This is my second Apple TV. The first one did the same thing before the returns deadline kicked in. Hey Apple!! Wake up and fix this!!! If I can't sync with iTunes then I am not putting any money into movie rentals or purchases!! This is costing YOU $$$$$$$$!!

    I had this problem and tried most of the suggested solutions. I could ping the ATV, so I had not network problems. Finally, this is the suggestion that worked for me (Windows 7 user running iTunes 9.1.0.79):
    - power off the ATV
    - open iTunes on the computer;
    - ensure "Share my library on local network is enabled in iTunes (Edit--Preferences--Sharing);
    - power on the ATV;
    - go to "Add Shared iTunes Library" on the ATV (Setting-->Computer menu, second line of the menu) which puts up a new passcode on the screen;
    - DON'T proceed with inputting the passcode number to add the shared iTunes Library, but instead press "menu" button on ATV remote to exit the "Add Library" function and return to the ATV setting menu;
    - this step seems to wake up the ATV<-->iTunes connection and at this point the ATV device reappeared on iTunes!;
    - on the ATV (Setting--Computer menu) I was then able to connect to the nominated iTunes library (top line of the menu) and enter the passcode required by that screen.

  • Old iphone3 photo albums not showing in iphoto and I want to import them

    I found my old iphone3 today and discovered a heap of photos on there that we lost years ago when our hard drive died.
    I'm very keen to get these photos onto the computer and of course then back them up onto an external drive!
    When I plug the phone into my mac, both iphoto and image capture only show the photos that are in the camera roll to import, not any of the albums that are on the phone. I'm assuming this is because at one point in the phones life the album photos had already been imported, but that doesn't help me now.
    Any suggestions?
    I've also tried opening the photos in preview, but again it only shows up the camera roll photos.
    Thanks in advance

    I'm assuming this is because at one point in the phones life the album photos had already been imported, but that doesn't help me now.
    Have the photos been synced to your iPhone using iTunes? Then you cannot import them directly. iPhoto, Image Capture, Aperture will only import photos, that are in the Camera Roll, not synced photos. On no account sync your iPhone again with iTunes, until you have rescued the photos.
    See:  iOS: Syncing photos using iTunes
    You can't reimport pictures synced from your computer to your device back to your computer. You can only import pictures in the Camera Roll or Saved Photos from your device to your computer. If you need to retrieve synced photos from your device:
    Email them from the device to yourself.
    Copy them from the emails to your computer.

  • HELP (Apple TV not showing up in Devices list)

    Has anyone resolved this issues. Like many others, i have things set up perfectly. My itunes stream, but when I go back to sync photos,etc. there is no Apple TV in the "Devices" list (as there is no devices list).
    HEEEEEEELP

    AppleTV does not show up in my Devices list unless there is a code on the screen of the AppleTV. It's not the way I understand it's supposed to work, and apparently not the way everyone's works, but it's a reasonable workaround for me. I think this is a bug in the software that's interacting with something else on my network or a QC problem with some hardware component, because it doesn't happen to every AppleTV.

  • TV not showing up in device list

    I've always had problems with my TV disconnecting from the network but yesterday and today is the worst it's ever been. I ran the update yesterday. After that I tried to stream an HD version of Body of Lies from my computer (about 2.5 GB). I only got 18 min into it with constant disconnects. After several attempts to get this streaming to work correctly I decided to try and sync the video to TV so I wouldn't have to worry about the signal breaking down any more. At this point, the TV disappeared from the devices list and has not shown back up in my iTunes. I've factory restored it and updated it again and nothing. Any ideas?
    Also, this may have to do with ******** networking. My roommate messed with the wireless settings (manual vs dhcp blah blah) and may have ****** it all up though I'm not sure. The service in general (Zoomtown DSL) just isn't very good.

    Have you tried linking your iTunes account with your Apple TV?

  • IPhone not showing up in devices list

    I have an iPhone 3Gs and a 27" iMac i7. I downloaded the remote app from the store, and the setup worked the first time I tried it. I added an AppleTV to this mix, and now the phone won't show up in the devices list (and can't find my library). The TV does, but the phone doesn't. When I look in the iTunes preferences, the TV says syncing even though it appears to be done. The "look for remotes" box is still checked on the devices tab. I tried resetting everything, and even deleted and re-added (and re-synced) the TV. It still says "syncing" in the preferences. Everything is on the same wireless network. It's annoying since it worked fine before I added the TV. Although, even when I unplug the TV the app doesn't work.

    Download the current iTunes installation and re-install it over the existing - not need to uninstall iTunes first.
