Itunes 10.2.2 crash when syncing songs into Iphone 4.3.2

Just got my iPhone two days ago and as I sat in front of my computer, I was excited about syncing my playlists into my iPhone4 32GB (over 2000 songs). Unexpectedly, it crashed during the process of ''20 out of 2000''. So I thought ''oh, maybe I'm syncing too many at a time?'', I turned the iPhone to maually handle on the songs and decided to put the playlists in one by one BUT it STILL crashes. I was able to put in one whole playlist (one album) at a time but halfway the second playlist, iTunes crashes. Happens EVERYTIME, it's fine if I just plug-in for charging, crashes during sync but it also crashed when I was attempting to download and upgrade my iphone from 4.3 to 4.3.2. I suspect it may be the computer's problem because I uprgraded fine without any crashes on my Acer laptop.
I've never had this problem before with my iPod Classic 120GB and I'm syncing the same number of songs. I'm operating on Windows XP Professional.
Any help? D:

And sometimes, itunes would refuse to detect my phone and give me the pop-up message ''The iPhone cannot be used because the Apple Mobile Device service is not started.''

  • ITunes gives unknown error (-50) when syncing songs with iPhone

I recently ripped a few mp3 files to my library and started up iTunes to sync them with my iPhone. If I recall correctly, this prompted me to upgrade to 9.2 of iTunes.
Everything synced perfectly - apps, photos, excpet for the new songs I had ripped - I got the unknown error (-50) syncing the new songs. This puzzled me as I followed the exact same process as I had when ripping all the other songs in the library.
I then removed an existing song from my iPhone, and tried the sync again, and now THAT song also failed to sync. Thus - it sure does not look like a problem with my mp3 files, but some sort of problem with iTunes.
I found this article which was very similar, but ended up being only specific songs:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1539
I followed all the steps there, but have yet to achieve success. I have also followed every iTunes upgrade since I started - I am currently at 9.2.1.5.
I also have an iPod Touch, and it experiences the same symptoms, thus once again pointing to iTunes not the device. I even went through the process of restoring my Touch to factory settings, and that did not help. I even upgraded my Touch to 4.0, still no change. With this restore to factory settings, all the music on my Touch was wiped out, and unfortunately now NONE of my songs sync - which includes the almost 300 other songs that were synced perfectly fine before I did the restore.
After the restore - photos, videos, etc. all synced fine - it is just music that has this problem. I do not suspect my USB connection as a result (some of my videos are very large) I have over 10GB free on my 1 GB Touch, and much more than that on my 32 GB iPhone.
I am really stuck here - everything else is working but I can not get any new songs, and I am afraid of doing too much more in case I lose the songs I already have.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions!
    Brent.

I just wanted to add that I have updated to iTunes 10, and this problem still exists.

    Hi Sarah,
Is the PC showing a blue screen after connecting the iPhone? If it does the information in this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1502 may help.
Try updating any Logitech QuickCam/Webcams, Lexmark scanners, or built-in media card readers that are attached or built into your PC.

    Hello,
For some reason my PC crashes when I attempt to sync my photo collection to my iPhone. Everything else syncs correctly except photos. I have tried syncing different photo albums, but the PC still crashes. Does anyone know what would be causing this problem?
    Here is my configuration:

    iTunes 8.2.1.6

  • ITunes gives error code -54 when sync with my iphone 5

iTunes gives error code (-54) when i try to sync with my iphone5

I am having the same issue. Since updating to iTunes 11 my iPhone 5 will no longer wirelessly sync. I am operating the latest version of Mountain Lion on a two month old Macbook Pro. When I plug in the USB I go through the steps of making sure the box is clicked to Wireslly sync, but after a few minutes of un-plugging the cord my phone dissapears from my devices. It tries to locate it, but cannot.
Furthermore, when I launched iTunes 11 for the first time my phone was synced, but since I accidenttly hit the eject button in the top right, this button has yet to come back. Even when the iPhone is linked via USB. Am I Crazy, stupid, or is this a bug?
BTW, how did MrTrav15 have this problem on 10/17 a month-and-a-half before the launching of iTunes 11?

  • ITunes 12 crashes when syncing apps with iPhone 4

Does anyone know the solution to this issue, I know it has been around for ages and I can not find anywhere anyone who has resolved this.
When I try to sync my iPhone 4 apps with iTunes 12, iTunes crashes and leaves ghost icons on my phone. This did not happen on the previous version of iTunes. If I make the app versions identical in iTunes and the iPhone it will go through the rest of the sync process,eg adding songs ect. I have tried all the normal fault finding stuff like reinstalling and factory resetting phone with no joy. Can someone from Apple please confirm this is a known issue and if it is likely to be addressed?
    Thanks in advance

I thought that would be the response when a iPhone model is not supported any more, thanks Apple

  • ITunes crash when syncing apps to iPhone 4s

I recently had to restore my phone as new.  I was able to sync to iTunes from my PC with no problem.   However, when I try to sync ANY apps, iTunes crashes.  How can I stop this from happening???

Every time it crashes, it adds to 'other' which is why I had to restore it to begin with.

  • ITunes crashes when syncing photos since iPhone upgraded to iOS 5

Recently ran the iOS 5 upgrade on my 32GB iPhone 3GS, everything works fine on the phone (despite losing an app I'd paid £6.99 for - grrr!) but iTunes syncing isn't working properly.
I can sync books, podcasts, music, ringtones all fine, but when it comes to photos, it just crashes as it tries to sync the first one. I tried restoring the phone, but now I just have no photos on it at all, and it still won't sync.
I get the same issue on 4 different PCs, different versions of iTunes, different cables, so it has to be a problem with the phone? So annoying as I'd really like to have photos on the device, as as Apple make you use iTunes to sync them (why you can't just drag and drop them on there is a mystery to me) I'd quite like them to fix the problem they appear to have caused with their update.
And yes, I can sync the photos fine to an iPod Classic, 3 different Nanos and an iPad 2.

I had identical issue and just found the answer here -

  • ITunes 9.0.2 crashes when syncing and enable Spoken Menus is checked.

I have had no problems syncing my 5th generation iPod until I checked Enable Spoken Menus. There is no problem with Enable Voiceover. I have tried this 4 times and each time iTubes 9.0.2 crashes. If I uncheck Enable Spoken Menus the problem goes away. Firmware is 1.0.2, worked ok in 1.0.1

Actually, iTunes 9.0.2.25 was the first version that supported Windows 7. The Windows 7 64-bit issues with iTunes are complicated by things by the nVidia chipset issues (which tends to crop up on 64 bit systems because they are more likely to have 4 GB of RAM installed), and the issues with PM55 and P55 intel chipsets (which is a BIOS issue). There's also trouble with AMDS installs on some 64-bit systems, but that's hitting Vista systems as well as 7 systems.
I'd try giving 9.0.3.15 a crack. From the release notes:
iTunes 9.0.3 provides a number of important bug fixes, including:
    • iTunes no longer ignores your "Remember password for purchases" setting.
    • Addresses problems with syncing some Smart Playlists and Podcasts with iPod.
    • Resolves a problem recognizing when iPod is connected.
    • Addresses issues that affect stability and performance.
... So fingers crossed, that might include your particular issue.
In particular, if you're still at 9.0.0, you'll likely have the 1.0.1 version of Apple Application Support. That was linked to some syncing issues. With a 9.0.3.15 (or a later version of the 9.0.2.25 installers) you'll have a Apple Application Support 1.1.0 in place which might also help matters.

  • ITunes 10.2.1 Crashes When Trying to Update iPhone 4 to iOS 4.3.2

When I plugged in my iPhone 4, iTunes told me that iOS 4.3.2 was available. I clicked on the "Download and Update" button and then from the iPhone Software Update dialog box clicked on the "Next" button and then the "Agree" button. At this point, iTunes crashes.
    Has anyone seen this?

I have not tried re-installing iTunes, however interestingly enough I plugged my iPad in and it successfully upgraded it to 4.3.2.

  • Itunes for windows 7 crashes when I plug my Iphone 4s in

I'm running Itunes 11.1.4.62  in Windows 7 Professional SP1 environment.
It works fine until I plug my new Iphone 4S in, then it just becomes unresponsive... no matter how long I leave it.  The only way to exit is to shut it through task manager.
Its always worked fine with my Ipod!

The error message that eventually shows on the frozen application (if I minimise all other windows) states:
iTunes was unable to load data class information from Sync Services.
    Reconnect or try again later.

  • ITunes 12.0.1 crashes when restoring iPad 3 iOS 8.1

    Hi,
I updated our iPad 3 (err the new iPad) to iOS 8.1.  In order to do so, I had to do the full restore process.  We use W7P64.
iTunes now crashes all the time, so we have an iPad with black apps "waiting", and unstable iTunes 12.0.1, it crashes after about 1 minute.  Great.  Unstable iTunes, useless iPad.
    Here's the error:
I've tried reinstalling iTunes, turning on "Prevent Devices from Syncing Automatically"
Any other suggestions appreciated.  iTunes folder is on a network drive.

Despite resetting iPad, uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, Shift+Start iTunes and use a mapped drive for iTunes library, it still crashes when syncing.  The only way to keep iTunes working, and remove the "Waiting" icons on 50+ apps, was to
Check "Prevent Devices from Syncing Automatically"
Uncheck "Sync over WiFi" when the device is connected in iTunes
I then deleted the "waiting" apps one by one, will reinstall from the iPad app store.
WP8.1 is just getting so much better, more quickly, than the iOS environment...

  • ITunes 10.4 crashing when syncing music

I'm having a major problem after upgrading to iTunes 10.4 for Windows.  I'm now randomly crashing when syncing music to my Ipad 2.   It seems some sync fine and then all the sudden it crashes.
    The crash I'm getting is:
    AppName: itunes.exe     AppVer: 10.4.0.80     ModName: quicktime.qts
    ModVer: 7.69.80.9     Offset: 001cd746
What's odd is that it's even crashing on audio podcasts that I downloaded on my iPad 2 which are being synced to my PC without issue, but then cause it to crash when syncing back.
I had no problems with 10.3.1 or earlier.

This is long, jump to the end if you don’t care about my new life problem! And sorry for my English, I’m not a native English speaker! Also, I’m just posting this stuff so people with this issue don’t have to try it all also.
ok, so my problem started with the ipad 2; i had a lot of pictures there but wanted to change the "stupid" way (for a windows addict) that apple arranges, or not, folders hierarchy. I deleted every single picture and imported my new structure (in windows). Useless to say that i got stuck here. i tried 100 times and i got the quicktime.qts module error (iTunes crashing). Good to know, obv, but what do i know of quicktime!? nothing...
Since i have an iPhone 4, and the iPhone only ever carried pictures taken with it, never had synced pictures before i decided to give it a try. same error…Ok, now i know the problem isn't in the devices but in iTunes itself, Quicktime, most likely.
Not happy with this conclusion, i decided to restore factory settings on both ipad 2 and iPhone 4 (4.3.5 ios). Gave it another try, after deleting every ipod photo cache folder in my library and re-installing iTunes completely (i tried re-installing before devices restoring with same error). No luck here either...
Went to discussion boards and figured a lot of people are having this issue, so i thought it’s probably in the iTunes 10.4 update, since i didn’t have a backup of my previous library, and i have 20000 songs, and didn’t want to lose the only library i had, i opted not to install previous iTunes version because i knew my library wouldn’t work and i rather have a decent library with no videos, than videos with a new library to build. So I didn’t try this.
i tried everything, there's a post that a guy, a while ago, resolved this issue (or similar) simply by deauthorizing and reauthorizing computer, or just by logging in to his iTunes account... other person resolved his issue by logging on a new windows account and syncing with a "clean" iTunes then moving to his previous account. Or deleting some quicktime files and folders that are on system32 folder, besides the 2 files that are needed... i only had the 2 needed files, no more! I tried it all, no luck.
Somewhere i read it could have to do with quicktime not being the default video player for .mov files, so i made it, still no luck.
My last try was messing with the registry looking for "stupid leftovers" of quicktime, a lot of them i knew shouldn’t be there and i deleted, but i was still stuck on the crash error. for this i removed iTunes, cleaned computer from apple stuff (all but my library files that i backed up),
cleaned registry and installed everything back again.in the meanwhile, no sure when, i figured since this could have something to do with quicktime (i noticed that it gets stuck when starting to optimize videos), i created a test folder with one picture and 1 video and I managed to pass through optimizing process. tried with 3 movies, after emptying the device and deleting cache folder (like from scratch), but Kabooom, crashed again. tried same thing, but first i opened the movies in quicktime in windows, then synced and it worked!! probably this could be the solution, tried with my whole library (2k+ photos and about 100 movies) but crashed again... probably i forgot/messed up to open some movie in quicktimes pior to syncing, but well, i was fed up with .mov files, or .mp4, m4v, FWIW (i tried them all).
After this (i only did all this because I’m computer addicted!) i rested my case, i posted on the forums and had 2 choices: wait for apple to solve this, if they care or Format my PC and probably be getting the same error, this is the only thing i didn't try cause i have lots of stuff to backup and configure, and lots of onetime license software...
I kept doing stuff with computer, installed a bunch of software (not related to this but related to DVD and movie editing stuff), after i stopped working i retried again, Meh, cleaned everything and got thru once with my new test folder (with different videos and pictures), but when i went to my REAL folders, APPCRASH again. Broke my mouse (apple owes me this!), stopped working and went to sleep.
I was real convinced this could have something to do with video encoding/decoding stuff. And also about quicktime
Now, the only thing working for me was:
Opening movies in quicktime prior to syncing (worked once or twice)
syncing right after I turned on the computer, but only small folders.
Makes me think problem is in the processor, since it eats a lot of CPU and memory at the end of a 1000 picture and videos sync. And it crashes when starting to optimize videos, sometimes I see it passes like 2 or 3 movies and crashes after. That’s why I can sync small folders right after I turn on my computer, but with big folders itunes just lags my windows wayyyy to much and at the end (when gets to optimizing videos) is really hot and slow, and crashes, I could make 1 video at a time but I believe itunes should work for itself without these “workarounds”.
I’m a computer guy and an application that uses up almost all computer CPU when “working” and “eats” way too much RAM is not a  solid application… in this part itunes *****.

  • Iphone5 crash when syncing with itunes

My iTunes (11) crashes every time when syncing with my iPhone 5 though it's never happened before.

I had done all of that to no avail.  I did call Apple Tech Support and after he suggested I try a USB port in the rear of the Win 7 computer, things starting working again.  I had tried switching the USB port at the front of the machine but that had not helped.  Everything is good to go again.  thanks for  your reply
