  • Itunes update to firmware fails, because connection times out.

I have been unsuccessfully attempting to update my iphone 3gs and ipad to iOS 5 for over a month now.  I have spent many, many hours on this, and many phone calls to apple support.  I disable Norton 360, and windows firewall, and my firewall on my router.  I've tried updating my router's firmware, which bricked the router--thanks apple for insisting this was the problem, and I have replaced the router, with a new one.  Itunes diagnostics gives me the following information.  I am using itunes as the administrator in Windows 7, 64 bit, although itunes doesn't recognize it, unless I reinstall it as the administrator, but then once I restart the computer, itunes no longer recognizes that I using Windows as an admin.
Also, the firmware cannot update, because the connection times out, despite all my firewalls, and antivirus being turned off.
I've tried downloading iOS 5 and then updating using restore, but that didn't work.  I've poured through support forums, and error codes: I get 1611, etc.  Cannot seem to resolve this.
    Any ideas?

  • Remote app on ipod fails to connect to itunes 10

After upgrading to iTunes 10, my remote app on the ipod touch 4G fails to connect. I've reauthorized, which times out most times, but eventually when it works, it only continues to connect to iTunes until I close and restart the program. I've disabled all firewalls and still have the issue. iTunes 10/iPod Touch 4G/iOS 4.1/ancient remote.app do not play well together.
Anyone else unable to get the remote app working reliably with this combination?

    Hello all,
I would like to get more details from people who are still having trouble getting Remote 2.0.1 to connect. If you are unable to connect, please email me <[email protected]> with the following information:
    - A detailed description of the specific issue you are seeing.
    - What OS is on the host computer? (the one with iTunes on it)
    - What OS is on the affected iOS device(s)?
    - A description of your network topology. Please be as detailed as you can, including hardware and firmware versions, if possible. Also please explain how everything is connected.
    - Is the base station running default settings, or do you have any non-standard settings enabled? If so, please elaborate.
    - Do you have the built-in firewall enabled on the host computer?
    - Do you have any other firewall or Internet protection (anti-virus, etc) installed on the host computer?
    - Were you able to connect with versions of Remote prior to 2.0?
    - If you have multiple computers, can you get Remote to connect to any of them?
    - Does Home Sharing work between computers on your network?
    - Do you see any messages in Console (in Applications/Utilities) on the host computer that seem to coincide with the connection failures?
    Thanks,
    Roy

  • After updating to Itunes 8.2.1 Itunes fails to connect to  all remote airp.

I have 2 airport express, used as remote speakers. Since the last update, both airport express fail to connect with Itunes. I have checked the firmwares, all have the latest firmwareupdate. My firewall allows connections for itunes. I have reinstalled the firmwares, but nothing helps. I still get the error -15000, -15006 and -3256.
Is there a solution? All worked fine before the newest Itunes Update.

My Airport Express doesn`t disappear anymore from Airport Utility after changing my WLAN Router from WPA2 to WPA.
Then I also followed these steps and everything`s fine again:

  • In App Purchase Error, ( Transaction Failed Cannot connect to iTunes Store)

O.k. on my iPhone when I'm in an app I tried to purchase something and it won't let me by saying, Transaction Failed, Cannot Connect to iTunes Store.. But I'm able to use the same app on my iPod touch and I can purchase what I needed.... So can somebody help me figure out what the reason is behind it? Both the iPhone and the Ipod has the same account information and both uses the same computer to connect to iTunes.... So why does one work and the other doesn't? Also its an iPhone 3Gs...

Although you may be using the same iTunes Account, things can get a little strange if you have different AppleID's for each device. On your device, check settings ==> Store. The AppleID for that device is listed there. It can be confusing because syncing to the same iTunes account is not the same as managing App and purchases through the iTunes Store Account.
On your iTunes window the uppe right corner shows which AppleStore ID is logged in. If it turns out they are different, simply log out of the store on iTunes, and log in with the other account. Download the updates. Log out and then back in to the other account.
As an alternative, download the updates on the device they were purchased. Sync to iTunes, and the updated download be transferred back to iTunes and available to the other devices syncing with iTunes.
Or....... if your iPhone is Airplane Mode, turn that Airplane mode off and ignore everything from above.

  • IE wont start or freezes after iTunes fails to connect to iTunes Store on WinXP.

On my WinXP PC the same problem occurs regularly. When first started, the IE connects to the internet and works without any problems. Once iTunes is started it can not connect to the iTunes Store and IE freezes and breaks down. When iTunes is first started, it also doesn't connect to the Store. In this case the IE can not even be started. Varoius other programs also experience problems once iTunes is started, despite working well beforehand. To me it seems that iTunes is my troublemaker. I alredy deleted iTunes and IE an put up the latest versions, this seemed tonwork for some weeks, but now the problem is back. Hope to find a cure here....
    Thanx

Your iTunes stores and sync problem solution here:
    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • "We could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection could not be established. There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later."

When I try to open the home page in my Itunes I get the message "we could not complete your itunes store request. The network connection is not be established. There was an error in the itunes store. Please try again later." It had been working just fine, in fact I had just purchased a song & edited my itunes account. Could changing the name on my account have cause the error message or is something else going on? This is a brand new computer.

I've got an Apple ID problem, too. All of the sudden in the midnight between August 31st and September 1st, the new apps I picked up on the App Store hung forever 'Waiting..' in my iPhone and never turned 'Loading'. When a substantial amont of time had passed, they reported, they 'could not connect to the App Store' and .. disappeared! Well what they told was not perfectly true because I could however connect to the store as I could browse and pick the apps, but the apps just didn't load. I tried to log into my account in iTunes on my Windows 7 laptop, too, and there got exactly the message in the topic title.
It appeared later my Apple ID did not completely fail because when I switched from my home WiFi to the phone 3G, everything worked just as nothing happened. Logically, this intimated my WiFi had flaws. Or, some place between my WiFi router and Apple servers did, to be precise. My router was not to blame because I did no changes to it whatsoever.
All right, it is Saturday today and my ISP is running in unmanned mode meaning no hotline, but I call them on Monday unless the problem disappears by itself. I just wonder what I say, because from non-i-world point of view everything works well, and I know for sure guys in the ISP support don't own any i-stuff, (because they are all android fanatics) . I'm not telling them my Apple ID to let them reproduce the problem on their home equipment, which means I come almost totally proofless.

I can no longer connect to the ITunes Store. CAn you help? When I do the diagnostics it says Securie link to itunes store failed.

I think I may be having the same problem.  "We could not complete your iTunes Store request.  The network connection timed out.  Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, then try again."   All tests pass the diagnostics.  iPhone restored to factory settings in DFU mode, but when beginning to sync I get this error message.  I've been searching online for fixes and tried several suggestions, but nothing worked so far.  (disabled antivirus, firewall, ie settings, uninstall/reinstall itunes...)  I'm getting very frustrated & hoping someone on here can help.
