ITunes 11.1.4.62 Windows 8.1

iTunes is the most frustratingly poor software that I have ever dealt with.  Every update introduces new and ever more frustrating problems.  Today my Windows 8.1 machine invited me up update iTunes so I could sync to my iPhone 5.  After update iTunes no longer recognized my phone.  Surfing support turned up a suggestion to update my Apple USB Driver.  Now it sees my phone and phone beeps when connected but iTunes does not start.  When I start it manually it begins sync.  The beginning of my Sync was 15 minutes ago and it's still on Step 2, backup.  I can only imagine how many millions have been screwed by another untested update.  My Windows is the latest, my IOS is the latest, my phone and PC and both only 1 year old.  What the heck is wrong with you Apple?  Icahn has it wrong, you don't need to pump up my stock with buybacks, you need to pump it up with quality!

I have exactly the same problem after the update yesterday. In addition, I was looking through iTunes preferences and noticed my older devices listed along with my current ones and decided to delete the older devices that were listed.
I wasn't sure if the new "Trust This Computer" that is now appearing on the iPhone 5S and iPad after I connect my lightning connector without any sync occuring was due to my deletion of the older devices listed that somehow contained a backup for my current devices, or due to the 11.1.4.62 update.
After reading the above listing I am guessing the new "Trust This Computer" that is appearing with failure to sync after selecting "Yes" on my iPhone 5S and iPad is due to the iTunes update.
Hopefully this is not just a Windows 8.1 64 bit problem, otherwise I'm afraind it may take a long time to be addressed. It's a little scary to see I am only the second listing making me think this could be a Windows problem.

  • How do I install iTunes 10.5.3 on Windows Vista?

I've been trying for some time to install iTunes on my computer for some time now.  As I'm sure you're aware, the iPod Touch currently requires 10.5.3 in order to operate.  Here are the issues I've been having:
After the I run the Setup and the iTunes Installer starts to run, this message pops up maybe two minutes into the process:
An error occured during the installation of assembly
    'Microsoft.VC80.CRT,type="win32".version="8.0.50727.

    for more information.  HRESULT: 0x80070002
I click Okay, and the installation process continues, up until the Status bar reads "Starting Services," at which point:
Service 'Apple Mobile Device' (Apple Mobile Device)
failed to start.  Verify that you have sufficient privileges
    to start the system services.
Clicking "Retry" yields the same result, clicking "Ignore" skips to the end of the installation process, and clicking "Abort" rolls back the process and restarts at a certain point, until the end of the installation.  I get the "Congratulations!" screen, click "Finish" to exit the installer, but when iTunes tries to start up:
Apple Application Support was not found.
Apple Application support is required to run iTunes. Please
uninstall iTunes, then install iTunes again.
    Error 2 (Windows error 2)
I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes several times.  I have restarted the computer after uninstalling and waited to reinstall.  Nothing seems to work.  All of this is exactly what occurs and quite frankly, it's more trouble than it's worth.  If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know ASAP.

The forums for members of Apple's developer programs are here:
    http://developer.apple.com/devforums/
If you're not doing development yourself, I would advise against installing either iTunes 10.5 or especially iOS 5. Both are beta software and almost certainly have faults and incomplete features. You definitely should not install iOS 5 on any device you depend on for general use.

  • Why will itunes not install on my windows 8.1 machines

I've tried 4 times to install iTunes on a new Sony windows 8.1 machine but it keeps telling me that the program is incompatible.  I have been using iTunes for years and had it on my old machine running Win 7.  With win 8.1 I keep getting error msgs that the program is incompatible.  Once it did install but when I tried to use it the first time I got an error that the program was shutting down and that windows would look for a solution.
    Any help?
    Thanks,

I'm going through the threads to find a solution to my 8.1 problem as well but while I am here I will share what I have come across in the forums:
    1. Right click the installation file and run it into compatibility mode for Windows 7
    OR
    2. This user replied to someone else (which looks like a similar question):
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/24285339#24285339
It talks about moving a .dll file.
*Note this .dll thing worked for me with an earlier problem and I had seen it on another forum. It seems to work for a LOT of people with 8.1
    Good luck!
I am off to find an answer to why my audio disapears while watching a movie in itunes with a Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit PC.

    Hellooo Apple Community!

    Thankyou thankyou thankyou!
    Natalie.

I just tried running the Lenovo Hard Drive Quick Test both in normal mode and in safe mode.  Both times it indicated a failed read test on the HDD. The last two tests also failed.  I forget what those tests were called.
I am really beginning to think I have a bad HDD and the problem just happens to be in the reserved partition where my factory system software resides.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful if one component won't install normally.
If needs be, the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility (MS Installer "Fixit") may be able to help force through the installation.

  • Current iTunes MSVCR80.dll, Error 7 (windows error 126): SOLVED.

Dear avid iTunes users - I have cracked it!!!
The response from Apple/iTunes was extremely poor and did not solve the problem.
I have a look in msconfig and observed which applications/services were running - one of which was the 'Apple Application Support'
So ... I had a look at what was in this folder and found the APS Daemon.exe file causing all the trouble.
So ... I simply deleted the Apple folder found in C:\program files\common files\.
I did a restart and did not get the MSCVCR80.dll or Error 7 (windows 126) error messages.
I reinstalled the current version of iTunes (for the 16th time!)
    Hey presto!!!
    IT WORKED :-O Woooohooo!!!
So ... to all those smarty-pants boffin-brianiacs out there (apple/iTunes): this is how you do it!!!!!!!!!!
YOU DO NOT NEED TO UNINSTALL ALL THE APPLE/QUICKTIME OR RELATED PROGRAMS - JUST DELETE THE APPLE FOLDER IN THE C:\PROGRAM FILES DIRECTORY.
    Nuff said.

  • My itunes will not open in Windows Vista, I have tried everything suggested on the apple website, there is some type of plug-in issue..can someone please help me?

    Hello,
I need help! My itunes will not open in Windows Vista. I have tried everything suggested by the apple website. Even when I open itunes in safe mode, it still will not allow me to continue. I am assuming when it says something about Plug-ins that has something to do with the problem. Can anyone help me?

Thanks King_Penguin for taking time to read and reply.
I just purchased this movie on Thursday, May 15, so just a few days ago.  I have never had any trouble whatsoever since I have been in Vietnam.  I have downloaded several movies and even music and they have all synced to my respected Apple products except for this purchase.
Sorry, I don't quite understand what you mean by studios and different versions.  Could you please explain?
I checked my purchased list in my purchase history under my account and there are no hidden items.

  • IPod touch 4th generation will not sync with iTunes, but shows up in Windows 7 64bit(Acer Aspire laptop)

Hello all, I am writing this message in the hope that somebody can help me to solve my issue with my iPod touch fourth generation. It has been unable to sync with iTunes, but shows up in windows as the iPod touch. I also had this problem with my older iPods as well (Ipod nano 4th Gen, iPod touch 2nd gen(Batteries done for that one)) I can sync music with iCloud, but I have a bunch of songs that are not in the store, and I sincerely want to add those, alot.
I've checked the "iPod appears in Windows but not in iTunes" with the link here: (http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1363), and followed that process, but to no avail, it does not solve the problem. I've tried to reset the entire ipod by making it enter DFU mode and then rebooting the entire iPod (shows up in iTunes in temporary mode) but once restored, does not appear in iTunes, but still in Windows detected still as a iPod, looks like the iPod and everything. I also have the most uup-to-date iTunes installed (10.5 I believe, just got it today)
This is extremely frustrating because that is why I purchased the iPod (and for the games and apps, those are great too). The iPod was also purchased three days ago, and the setup still didn't detect it.  I am not mad at anybody here or the Apple company itself, but I have not found any help online with the browsing option (for support of course).
Please, I would absolutely love the help, i'd be eternally grateful for it.
    -Tyler

Never mind, turns out that by uninstalling the programs "Megakey" and "Megaupload" it had resolved this issue.

Click here, pick the option which best fits your situation, open the larger library in iTunes, move the media files from the smaller one into the library in the open iTunes program window or the Automatically Add to iTunes folder, and then import the playlists.
