Itunes 11 will not install

I cannot get itunes 11.1 to install. During the installation, after it says copying files, it then says rolling back and I get an error message - "an error occurred during installation before it could be configured. Run it again." When I first tried this it told me to uninstall itunes from the computer. I did that. I don't know what else to do. I need to backup my iphone and have no way of doing this. I am running Win7 64bit. Please help.

itunes 11 will not install on my Windows 7 computer because it cannot start the 'Apple Mobile Device' service, what can I do?

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (Later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
See also HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP or HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
Should you get the error iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found after the above reinstall then copy QTMovieWin.dll from:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support
    and paste into:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes
The above paths would be for a 64-bit machine. Hopefully the same fix with the " (x86)" omitted would work on 32-bit systems with the same error.

  • Question: i upgraded to Lion and now itune upgrade will not install (error message appears)

i upgraded to Lion and now itune upgrade will not install (error message appears)

iPhoto needs to be upgraded in order to work with Mavericks. You can do that via Software Update or the App Store.
The iWork apps are free with a new iOS device since 1 SEP 2013. They are free with a new Mac since 1 OCT 2013. They are also free with the upgrade to OS X Mavericks 10.9 if you had the previous version installed when you upgraded.
Upgrading iPhoto does not involve your iPhoto Library. Your photos will still be there. But it never hurts to make a backup first.

Itunes 11 will not download on my computer. Itunes pop up saying it will not recognize my device unless I download latest version which I have done but still getting same pop up????

I figured it out. Just got off the phone with support took about an hour. First I uninstalled iTunes , after doing that it did not help. Finally realized The internet search engines I was using wasn't allowing me to download. I was using Firefox  and explorer. So I downloaded google chrome. I went to iTunes.com and tried it again and then it finally asked me if I would like to run program. Finally worked. Hope this helps.

  • ITunes upgrade will not install

I am trying to upgrade iTunes to the 10.1.2 version. I currently have 10.0.1.22.
It will not update; halfway through I get a message that says:
Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually.
Ok, so I did that, only to get another error message that said:
iTunes & QuickTime has an invalid signature. The download has been removed.
Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Yes, same problem. Where is the insert for a graphic so I can show Apple the precise message? "Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually". It doesn't save anything from the previous download attempt, starts from Zero again. That wastes bandwidth and time. Why does it not install properly? Obviously crappy software.

  • Itunes 7 will not install; it hangs in the middle of "registering"

I cannot install itunes 7. It hangs in the middle of "registering" and will not proceed any further. Can anyone please help me? I am so frustrated! Thank you very much.

I spent 6 hours last weekend with this installation problem and came up with a process that seems to work - I've posted it a number of times and no one has said it failed for them. Lots of people have said it worked.
First go to Control Panel, Add or Remove Programs and uninstall Quicktime and iTunes.
Next go to the Microsoft web site below and download the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Install it, run it, then uninstall Quicktime and iTunes with it, if they appear in the list.
    http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301
Go to apple.com and download the iTunes setup to your hard drive.
It doesn't hurt to disable or pause your virus scanner before installing, just remember to enable it again when you're done.
Try installing iTunes. You might still have problems installing iTunes because of QuickTime registry key access errors. If that happens, go to the link below, scroll about half way down and CAREFULLY follow the steps to change both Owner and Permissions on the keys that fail.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=688433&tstart=0
NEVER DELETE REGISTRY KEYS MANUALLY USING REGEDIT!
If this doesn't work, please re-post your problems. The more information we have to work with, the better we can understand the flawed installation process apple uses for iTunes and Quicktime and we can come up with solutions. It seems that the install problems are really with Quicktime rather than iTunes.

  • Itunes 8 will not install.. it says a program needed is not working??????

Help me someone!! I have tried uninstalling everything. No luck. itunes7 reinstalled with no problem. But when I try to install 8 I get the error message....
"There is a problem with this windows installer package. a program required for this install to complete could not be run. contact your support personnel or package vendor"
I have no idea what to do.. since now I have 2.1 installed on my ipod touch.. it will not connect to itunes until i install 8.

Exactly my problem. Very frustrating. It bricked my wife's iphone. She was not happy. I'll never update itunes or the iphone again!
    Apparently what happened is this...
I plugged her iphone into the pc.
    Itunes then updated the iphone.
Next, Itunes wanted to update itunes, but I kept getting the above Error.
So, I installed the Windows installer cleanup utility as the other posts say to do.
Then I deleted itunes with the cleanup utility.
    Still, I get the error.
But finially, and here is the Solution...
Use the installer cleanup utility to delete any itunes things listed.
Apparently the Iphone update installer was the problem... Delete It with the cleanup utility!
    Hooray!
Thanks Apple for this horrible hassle!

  • Itunes 7 will not install due to DEP (data execution prevention)

I am trying to install itunes 7 on a windows XP computer. It crashes each time I try to install immediately after clicking continue on the screen where it has 3 checkboxes (first puts icon on desktop, the second makes itunes the default audio player). I get an error that itunes installer has been shut down by windows by the DEP. It does this even if I exclude all the itunes on DEP. If I set DEP to only monitor windows processes, it still crashes at the same spot, it just doesnt bring up the dep window.
    Any ideas?

Either way I get the same installer error twice then an itunes error that it could not install because it needs quicktime. (which I have).
okay ... 7.0.0.70 needs QT 7.1.3. the itunes/QT installer bundle has changed up significantly, in that the QT part of the install runs before the itunes part. (it used to come second.) so if there's a problem with a QT install, that might be causing the current issue with the overall itunes install.
so let's try a careful standalone QT 7.1.3 install, to see if that goes in properly.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install from there rather than online.) switch off antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the install.
Quicktime 7.1 Installers … get the one that doesn’t mention itunes
if you get an error message on the QT standalone reinstall, let us know what it says. include error message numbers if you're getting any.
if the install goes through okay, try another itunes 7.0.0.70 install. does it go through properly this time?

  • Itunes/quicktime will not install

I am trying to udgrade my intunes to the newest version (7.34) to add music to my 2nd genertaion ipod nano. The installer will not even open giving the error message of invalid drive J:/. I already tried changing my ipod's drvie letter to (k) but it still shows the error message ivalid drive J:/.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you

You obviously don't need 7.3 or 7.4 for 2nd gen Nano.
It seems your system's temporary directory setting has been messed up so that the installer cannot unstuff itself.
