Itunes 7 doesnt even open

i downloaded and installed, and it said some parts were left out and to reinstall, so i did. No help. Im downloading it again rite now. anyone got solutions?

i think i might be able to help you get it open, but not using the shortcuts, i still can't figure those out myself. The way i open iTunes is by pressing CTRLALTDEL and clicking "new task," then click iTunes.exe and it should open. Or you could right click your music file and go to "open with", then just click iTunes and it should open iTunes and play that song. This is the only way i'm getting i Tunes open, but if someone could PLEASE help me get the shortcuts and normal stuff working, please give me some advice! I've already reinstalled a million times (and uninstalling first) and done it separately and i don't have norton.
thanks

Let's first try the following document, only be sure that none of the boxes in the compatibility mode tab are checked (not just the compatibility mode box itself):

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) (not for XP) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

  • After Downloading 10.4..my itunes wont even open on my computer..anyone know the solution to this?

After downloading 10.4 my itunes wont even open on my computer..we have tried different things to see if it will open, downloaded it again..and still it wont open.

try running as administrator -- a temp solution for me anyway.  Waiting for apple to fix whatever this is.   At least one other poster here had same problem and "solution" worked for him as well.

Everyting was perfect earlier. Used to convert all my videos into iPhone mp4 format using Any Video Converter - then add it to my iPhone 3GS. But last few days, I cant add video files to iTunes. and the iTunes doesnt even specify the reason except for that "files are not supported"
    Everything is fine.
    -They are the right format
    -Quicktime is updated
-I have tried simply dragging them into the 'movie' library
-I have tried going to file<add file to library
Nothing works, has anyone else had this problem and found a way around it?
    Any and all help appreciated.

In addition to Mike's suggestions,  you only have 4GB of RAM and Mavericks does use more RAM than other versions. You may also want to look at the apps that startup on login and the possiblity of upgrading RAM.

  • Itunes wont even open. Double click = hour glass spin then nothing..

I'm having a problem with itunes8. When I doubleclick on the desktop icon, or access itunes from any shortcut or the direct EXE the mouse cursor turns into the hourglas for about 3-5 seconds, goes back to normal cursor, then nothing happens. itunes wont even pop up. I get no error messages, and I DONT get the BSOD like most are reporting problems getting. I get NOTHING at all.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled with the newer updated itunes8 installer and that still will not work. I also had itunes 7.7 downloaded from the other week before 8 was released, it does the same thing. It wont run either..
I was on the line with tech support last night (iphone tech, not itunes tech; they were closed) and we tried removing ALL startup items, installing, ect and it still did not work.
Does anyone have any idea whats up?

    Yes, I've tried that guide..
I spent 3 hours with tech support over the last few days and they have no idea what it could be
    I've also:
disabled firewalls completely PLUS adding all Apple applications to exception list just in case
done COMPLETE uninstall of ALL apple products plus used microsoft install cleaner then reinstalling
tried booting up with NO startup items whatsoever and no services except microsoft services
Installed quick time separately first, then itunes
    tried installing itunes 7.7
I thought MAYBE it was because I'm running a custom version of XP (Bariski edition) so I installed itunes 8 on my other computer which is running the plain old XP SP2 from MS and it actually did the exact same thing. It "pretended" (as i like to say) to load itunes then never popped up.

  • HELP!!!! Itunes wont even open, no point to Ipod can't put music on it.

Ok, first of all I have tried EVERYTHING. I've tried reinstalling, uninstalling, redownloading, that anti-spyware program ewido or something? i've tried running Msconfig, I've tried windows compatibility, I've tried deleting the temporary files folder. I've tried removing Quicktime and windows. I've tried installing older versions of Itunes. ITUNES WILL NOT RUN. I just got a brand new Ipod video and I can't put any music on it because i can't install itunes. When I try to open Itunes i get a window saying "ITunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvience."
Now, there is one thing i've noticed if this helps...it does not appear that Quicktime is installed. Its not its own program in the Add/Remove programs list. But there are quicktime processes running in the task manager. Is there any way i can put music on my Ipod without Itunes. I dont care for Itunes, i just want to be able to use my Ipod. Please anyone, any help would be great! I need to figure this out. Thanks

One solution is as per roaminggnome's suggestion - copy it from the old computer.
The other way is to get an app such as Senuti (iTunes  written backwards...!) and it will let you move music from the iPod to the Mac.

  • Itunes refuses to open "quits unexpectedly"

    Some troubleshooting basics:
Ensure that you have the latest version of the OS and Quicktime and the iTunes.
    1. Repair Permissions using Disk Utility
    2. Delete the com.apple.iTunes.plist file from the home / library / preferences folder. You'll need to reset your User options afterwards.
    3. Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts) and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

  • My iTunes won't open...is there a virus that effects iTunes?

when i try to open itunes it takes awhile, shows the hourglass and then does nothing. doesnt even open up anything. i havent had any problems with the program until recently when my computer got hit up pretty bad with some viruses. im wondering if there are certain viruses that wont let itunes open. ive unistalled and re-installed itunes to no avail. still wont open...
anyone hear of something like this and could help?
    hp   Windows XP

Personally I think your computer just needs a thorough clean - removing all files/folders relating to iTunes and QT and not just by using the standard uninstall. Get yourself a good virus checker and firewall and once all this is done try re-installing iTunes and QT.
    I hope the above helps.

You are not able to view purchase history on your iOS device.  You may only re-download previous purchases from the iOS device.
To review your iTunes Store account's purchase history, follow the steps in this article from a computer only:

  • Itunes doesnt Open, at all

Ive been having this problem for a while on my laptop, Itunes doesnt open when i plug my Iphone in, or even when i open it seperatly. The process shows up in process manager but the itunes window never appears. I have tryed Uninstalling and re installing everything but it still occurs.
    Any help?

Some questions aimed at narrowing in on possible culprits.
    (1) Does your QuickTime Player launch, or do you get an error message of some kind when you try to launch that?
    (2) If your QuickTime Player seems to be launching fine, try (by way of experiment) disabling the BonJour Service.
In your Start Menu, right-click Computer and select "Manage".
    Expand "Services & Applications".
Open "Services". (Maximise the window to better see what's going on.)
Right-click the BonJour Service and select "Properties". In the "General" tab, set Start-up type to "Disabled".
Restart the PC, and try launching iTunes again. Does it launch this time?
If iTunes launches with the BonJour Service disabled, by any chance do you have a recent version of IOBit's Advanced SystemCare utility installed on the PC? If so, try uninstalling and reinstalling Advanced SystemCare. Can you launch iTunes with the BonJour Service enabled, now?

Power the phone off completely. Plug the USB end of the cord into the computer, leaving the other end unplugged from the phone. While the phone is powered off, open up iTunes, hold down the home button on the phone, and plug in the USB cord to the phone, making sure you keep holding down the home button. In about 15 seconds you should get a pop-up in itunes saying that it's detected an iPhone in recovery mode. Click 'Ok' and 'Restore'.
Your iOS update crashed and your phone is in recovery mode. The good news is that this will fix it, bad news is that unless you had everything backed up in either iTunes or iCloud, you've lost everything as your phone was wiped when the iOS update crashed.

  • TS3212 what do i do if my itunes doesnt open after downloading or not at all?

what do i do if my itunes doesnt open after downloading or not at all?

    Okay.
Can you check something for me please?
Restart your PC. after the PC restarts, bring up your Task manager, and go to the "Processes" tab. Click "Image name" to sort the processes alphabetically.
    Now try to launch iTunes.
Does an itunes.exe process appear? If so, does it vanish after a second or so, or does it persist in the Processes tab (even though iTunes itself never shows up)?
