Itunes 9.0 import error

After upgrading to 9.0 I attempted to import two CD's. I can play songs from the CD and see all the track info, but when I click import CD, I get the error: "Error occured while converting <song>. The required file cannot be found." However, since I can play the songs on the CD within itunes, I know that they are there, how can I resolve this issue?

Apple better figure this mess out and FAST. This is ridiculous!!! Unacceptable that they would put out an update that does nothing but screw up customer's iTunes and i whatever they are synching to the iTunes.
Who did they use to test the upgrade??? I'm so ****** I can't see straight. I was going to buy the new 3Gs this weekend for my husband, now I'm not, not until they fix this error and without anymore lost data on the customer's part.
I'm reading too many horror stories.
Figure we will be seeing a 9.0.1 very soon.

When starting iTunes I continually get an error message " The registry Settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software. Please reinstall iTunes."  I have unistalled and reinstalled iTunes several times and have cleaned up the registry using a 3rd party Windows utility.  Any tips on removing this error message for good?

Can I uninstall existing iTunes without losing my media library?  and then install fresh to fix this problem?

  • Import Error on iTunes Producer

I have already uploaded succesfully two books on the iBooks platform, using iTunes Producer. However, I am having trouble uploading other titles. After my files pass all validation tools (Apple, Epubcheck and Flightcrew), my book is delivered. Then, by opening the Package History menu, I see an Import Error, with no apparent explanation, or error log I can send to apple. I have already checked for the obvious usual suspects (encoding, manifest, namespaces etc) but I cannot find something wrong. In addition, I have already used the Contact Us form in the iTunes Connect module, but there is no answer from Apple.
Anyone with a similar problem, or a possible solution ?
    Best,
    Nikos

    Same error here.
First book being uploaded. Book was created using Sigil, assembled with Calibre, and tested with epubcheck and FlightCrew. After iTunes Producer delivers the file, in a few minutes I retrieve the package status and the message is "import error".
I would imagine that a text file with the reason for the import error would not be that difficult to produce. If it is failing, it probably is reaching a condition that is not allowed during import (a condition would be an IF-THEN-ELSE or a CASE statement). At that point the import process should log what happened and send to us so we could correct it.
In the mean time I entered a request on the Contact Us page and I will post here any replies I receive.

  • IBooks Author / iTunes Producer Import Error

    Looking for some help....
I have now attempted 9 different imports of my iBook Textbook created with iBooks Author - all ended in Import Error.   I have scoured the forums and took some community members'  advice to:
Change all my video formats to iPhone / iPod 3gs .m4v instead of iPad .m4v (even though the documentation says that iPad .m4v should work)
Made sure there is a preview version of the iBook
Made sure all the Metadata is filled out
The ITMSP package validates successfully in Producer and gives me a green check mark on upload.  After watching the package status it goes from Uploading > Uploaded > Internal Processing > to Import Error ever single time.   This is beyond frustrating since there is no error log for me to review to have ANY idea what the error is.  Please advise!
This is going on over a week now of struggling with this and an entire week of work waisted.   I was told it will take about 10 days for the book to be reviewed to get placed in iTunes - BUT I CAN'T EVEN GET IT SUBMITTED!
    Please help!

I struggled with the same issue for a couple of days earlier this week.  My issue was definately related to vido, but not necessarily the format of the videos.  It was related to 2 things:
    1.  We had adjusted the Poster frame from the default to a selectable frame.
    2.  We had adjusted the start/stop of the video
I deleted the videos that had either of these settings changed and added them back into the book without any adjustments and the Import worked.  Unfortuantely, this took me 2 straight days of work to figure out since the error message doesn't tell you anything.
    Good luck.

  • ITunes producer import error

I have completed my first iBook and wanted to publish...which fails of course. Everything works fine through the whole iTunes Producer thing until it says "Import error" in the package status. When I go to the contact us at iTunes Connect and try to get in contact with apple it says that my Apple-ID is wrong, it has to be a numeric identifier.
Is there some file in the system that states WHAT is wrong with the book? Or is there a way to actually get in contact with someone at Apple? *frustrated*

iTunes for Windows: "Registry settings" warning when opening iTunes

  • Error msg at launch says "Registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing. ... Please reinstall iTunes."

Each time I launch iTunes (latest version) on Windows 7 (w/ latest system updates) I receive the following error msg:
"Warning! The registry settings used by the iTunes drivers for importing and burning CDs and DVDs are missing.  This can happen as a result of installing other CD burning software.  Please reinstall iTunes."
When I click on "OK" iTunes completes the launch process and the application functions properly.  This error msg appears without fail every time I launch the app.
I have reinstalled iTunes four times and continue to receive this message.  iTunes is set in the system Control Panel as the default program for all functions that iTunes uses.  I never burn CDs or DVDs and have never attempted to do so on this machine.  I have had iTunes on this computer since I bought it last November and never had a problem with it until 2 months ago when this message began popping up.  I did not notice any action I took that caused this, in terms of creating conflicts.
I hope someone can assist me in finding a way to stop this annoying error!  Thanks!
    David

Maybe someone can help me - lately, I keep receiving this error message when I want to burn a CD: "The Registry settings used by iTunes drivers for importing & burning CD's is missing. Same problem as me. No answers though. Also I can't access the itunes store. There is something missing in the registry but what? Seeing as your post was sometime ago it looks like there is no help.

I have edited the registery, downloaded the Gear drivers, uninstalled and installed itunes, and the error still appears.
What else can I do.  Cannot connect any of our iphones or ipods to itunes because of this error.

    I have edited the registery,
We'd better have a closer look at the keys to see what's going on.
Can you post a screenshot of the contents of the key you've been editing, please? Include all of the regedit screen, including the left-hand column. Save the screenshot to an image file, and insert the image file in a reply by clicking the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window.
