ITunes 9.2 (Error Message -50)
I seldom have the need to access iTunes Store (not iPhone, iTouch, iPad user) - However recently I discovered that my iTunes 9.2 is unable to access the online store at all! This will definitely affect me in the near future if I decides to get the new iPhone4, as updates and apps are done via iTunes Store.
I kept getting the following error message every time I try to sign in to my Apple account of the iTunes Store:
+*"We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-50). There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."*+
I have re-tried ample times, uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes, it just don't work till now. Even tried Apple's Support help "http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1811", that don't work for me either! I'm running a wireless broadband connection at home.
Any experts able to assist here? =X
I have a resolution to the problem! I hope it will work the same for you too!
1. Launch your iTunes as per normal.
2. Go to iTunes > Preferences > Parental. This is the area to resolve this problem!
3. Under Disable: Check the boxes for *'iTunes Store'* and *'Allow access to iTunes U'*. By doing these will disable accessibility to the 2 areas. Click OK.
4. Exit iTunes completely and relaunch iTunes again.
5. Go back to iTunes > Preferences > Parental. Now we uncheck the 2 boxes for *'iTunes Store'* and *'Allow access to iTunes U'*. This way, we are enabling the access again! Click OK to continue.
6. Now attempt to sign in your Apple ID to access your iTunes Store, it should be up and running properly! +(at least for me still...)+

can't update new version of itunes due to error message saying invalid si
That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer? -

I cannot open itunes. Getting error message: "the file iTunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes"
What do I need to do so I dont lose all my loaded music, etc.?
ThanksIf you still have an issue you may have to see about using the iTunes version (application) included with Snow Leopard 10.6 from the installer or an another one if available online, and see if that will install.
Sometimes you may have uninstall the bits left in your system by the earlier (or later) iTunes installers; as they all leave a trace and these can stop a different version of iTunes from being installed.
Not sure if the following site/link will tell the method...

ITunes displays -48 error message when syncing iPod Nano on Windows XP
My girlfriend's mom's iPod Nano ran out of charge while jogging so she decided to charge it on her daughter's iHome. The next day she went to use her iPod but it was totally empty of all music and files. When she tried to sync it to iTunes, she received an eror message stating, "An unknown error has occurred (-48)" from iTunes and a Windows message stating that some iPod folder/file was corrupted.
If anyone receives such a message, I was able to correct it by:
-Plugging in your iPod to your PC
-Ignore the error messages
-Go to My Computer
-Find your iPod's drive letter (ie. G:)
-Right-click on it and select Properties
-Go to Tools Tab >Error-checking and select Check Now
You should be able to sync your iPod as before. I do not claim to be an expert so be warned that it may not work for you. Good luck!Hey ermides,
Thanks for the question. The following resource provides information if you are receiving a -50 error message when syncing:

I am trying to remove the older version of iTunes but an error message appears saying that it cannot find the path to 'iTunes64.msi", and I tried the search option to find it on my computer but no such luck. Please help me
Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Be aware that Windows Installer CleanUp Utility will not remove the actual program from your computer. However, it will remove the installation files so that you can start the installation, upgrade, or uninstall over. -
I can't update iTunes because of error message "iTunes.msi is not a valid installation package for the product iTunes". How can this be resolved. I am using a PC with Windows XP
If you can, uninstall and reinstall itunes..... Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP

It sounds a lot like your phone was hacked or jailbroken to unlock it prior to your trying to update it.
If that is the case, it is nowpermanently bricked. -

The iPhone 3G is Not Compatible with iOS 6...
It also appears that your phone may have been Hacked and / or Jailbroken...
If this is the case... you are out of luck... Because...
