Itunes 9 Syncing problem

Hi i am getting this message...
'iTunes cannot sync information with the iPhone 3Gs because syncing has been disabled on this computer. Do you want to enable syncing?
Click on Yes.....
Error Message- iTunes was unable to load provider data from Sync Services, reconnect or try again later...'
Can anyone help, this was working fine before i updated to 3.1 and iTunes 9...
Thanks and regards
Mat

I broke down and called Apple support. Eventually I got to a second level support person and after trying a few things which didn't help. She said I needed to uninstall iTunes and re-install. Actually you have to uninstall iTunes, Quicktime, Apple Software update, Bonjour, Apple Mobile Device Support & Apple Application update. And that's the order she had me do them and she said it did matter.
I rebooted. Downloaded a new iTunes & re-installed. Eventually it all worked.
So far no problems. I don't know what went wrong but the uninstall & reinstall answer was worthy of Microsoft at it's best.
If you try it I hope it works for you as well.

  • Itunes syncing problem...HELP!

Hello! I've got a REALLY annoying problem with my iPhone currently, out of nowhere it is crashing when syncing on step 2 the backup stage, I've looked through possible suggestions, tried numerous things but cant find a solution! Any ideas!?

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes, Sync and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • ITunes sync problem: file could not be read or written

I am running itunes 10.5.2 on OSX 10.7.2 on a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Macbook
A week ago i did a so called "clean install" on my Mac, making sure to back everything up on one external drive, and clone the disk on another before beggining. I started with snow leopard and then installed the upgrade from the app store.  I then reinstalled all of my software, loaded my photos, setup my preferences and devices, and finally directed itunes to the media folder on my external drive.
I had been using the external drive for itunes for a couple of years: on the previous system and even my previous desktop, with no problems whatsoever.
All my songs apps etc. showed up and there seemed to be no issue.
Then I tried to sync my iphone 4s and it started off okay, but about halfway through the message "could not sync ___ song to iphone because the file could not be read or written". When i located the song in question it was where it should be and even played properly in itunes. The second try would bring about the same error only with a different song. This went on several times before I realized something was really wrong.
I made sure to change the permissions for all itunes folders, music folders, even the external drive itself to have read & write permissions for all fields, and checked the box to include all internal files. I also tried resetting my iphone, syncing through another usb port, and running permissions checks on the main drive.
Thinking it could be a broken hard drive, I tried moving my aperture folder to the internal drive and all 30 GB transfered no problem. But when I tried to move the itunes folder to another drive, it stopped midway through and the finder gave me "error -36" saying that some song could not be transfered because "the file could not be read or written".
In case it helps I have included the Console log from on of my attempts to syc.
Any ideas? Thanks for your time and effort in helping.

  • IPad, iCal and iTunes sync problem

Early last year, I posted (https://discussions.apple.com/message/18503738#18503738) that syncing between my iPad 3 and my Snow Leopard iMac behaved oddly.  AppleCare Support dweebs had failed to resolve the issue and no one on here managed to come up with any suggested fix.
However, for no apparent reason, the problem stopped and I stopped monitoring this august and highly esteemed forum and all went well ...
    ... until recently.
I sync via a USB cable and I do not use iCloud (as I'm on Snow Leopard) save for Find My iPad, all other iCloud options are switched off.  All other app syncing appears to work correctly, it is only iCal and Calendars that don't.
Just why things have started to go wrong now, probably in the last three or four weeks, I do not know but now the following syncing errors occur ...
    1) On the iPad: new appointments or changes to appointments made on the iPad are not synced to the iMac;
    2) On the iMac, changes to appointments already on the iMac are shown on the iPad as both the new and old timings/details, not as replacements;
    3) On the iMac, new appointments are made in the default (or last) calendar used.  These are then edited as required, with the details put in and, if necessary, calendars changed.  On the iPad, however, these will show as both "New event" in the default calendar and as the edited correct appointment, not just as the finalised entry;
    4) Appointments deleted from the iMac are not deleted from the iPad.
In other words, changes on the iPad are not synced across to the iMac and changes on the iMac are synced twice, once as the unedited appointment and once as the edited appointment - if an appointment is deleted it remains on the iPad.
When the original problem arose (similar but not identical) the Apple dweebs suggested deleting my iCloud account (not synced, used only for Find My iPad) but doing that this time does not remove the bug.
I'm running a 27" quad-core i7 iMac under MacOSX.6.8 (Build 10K549), iCal v4.0.4 (1395.7) and I sync via USB  and iTunes v11.0.2 (26).  The iPad is a 64GB 4G/wifi iPad 3, currently running under under iOS6.1.3.  To the best of my knowledge, all available updates have been applied to both devices.
I have deleted all calendars off the iPad by deselecting Calendars in iTunes' iPad tab, turned it off.  Swicthed off the iMac, Safe Booted and run OnyX full suite, I have then Single User booted, run fsck -fy three times then run applejack AUTO restart, then rebooted the iMac, rebooted the iPad, sync'd without Calendars then resynced with the Calendars selected again.
I had hoped that this would remove any cache files, temporary files, stuck RAM or whatever else could conceivably be causing this bizarre behaviour - to no bl**dy avail!  It is behaving exactly and frustratingly as before!
What on earth is going on?  if I can't use my iPad as my main calendar and add new appointments when out and about and have them synced properly and reliably to my iMac then the whole thing is a waste of time andI shall have to revert to a paper diary again!
HELP!!!!! Please, before I go mad with frustration!

I'm not sure whether getting no replies to this (or the earlier) query is something of which to be proud - or terrified!
Am I the only person in the world with this bizarre insoluble problem?  if so, why me?  Am I a Chosen One or, more likely, someone to be punished for a lifetime of misdeeds!
But there is progress.  I have no idea what happened at a technical level or why, but the matter has now resolved itself and things are syncing normally.  Until the next time!
Perhaps there is a clue somewhere in the following ...
I run my iMac 24/7 and thus I rarely close iCal on the iMac and when i do it is usually by accident.  The same applies to Calendars on the iPad, although I do reboot from time to time.
Anyway, I installed some software on the iMac which required a reboot and, as susual, iCal opened via Preferences > Accounts > Startup items - only this time I was presented with a perfectly blank calendar.  A message appeared, from within iCal (oh, how I wish i had noticed what it actually said) saying something along the lines of "importing calendars".  This took a little while and it wasn't instant - maybe it does this every time it reatrts but too fast for me to notice.
After this "import", if indeed that's what it was, the syncing was corrected!
Coincidence?  Cause and effect?  Magic?  Too many magic mushrooms for breakfast?
If that is what resolved the issue, then how can I cause an import deliberately for when the syncing goes astray again and just what does an "import" do that a normal launch doesn't and which might have resolved the glitch?
I have had this "import" message before, but very very rarely, so it may well have resolved the syncing issue last time and I just didn't make the possible connection.
Does that help anyone come to my rexcue with an explanation and, possibly, a strategy for preventing or deliberatly correcting syncing issues in the future?

  • Can anyone help me with iPod/iTunes syncing problems after recent software update?

    Hi there,
I wonder if anyone can help me.  Last week I updated my iPod to the latest software (8.2).  Today I deleted some albums from iTunes and added a few others.  I also made some changes to a few of my playlists.  I then synched iTunes and my iPod.  However the synching has not worked.
When I connect my iPod, it shows up in iTunes pretty instantly.  When I click on sync, I can see in iTunes that it is syncing and also on my iPod, but the changes do not appear on my iPod afterwards.  Also, after the first syncing attempt, I lost two-thirds of my album cover art.  So, I lost covert art, but no other changes were made.  The albums I deleted from iTunes are still on my iPod and the ones I added to iTunes are not on my iPod.
I have looked at the music on my iPod while connected to iTunes.   I can see the songs/albums I have added are there, but they appear in grey and have a doted circle (to the left) next to them.  This shows that they have not synched (I guess).
I have already restarted my McBook Pro and iPod a few times.  I synched my iPod with iTunes after every restart, but it has not made any difference.  I also deleted the music I added to iTunes and added it again.  I synched iTunes and my iPod after this, but it has made no difference.
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Many thanks
    Summary:
    Updated iPod to iOS 8.2.
Made changes in iTunes i.e. delete and added music
iTunes and iPod show they are synching, but changes to not appear on iPod.
Also lost cover art on iPod after synching.
    Products:
    iPod Touch, latest generation
    iTunes 12.1.0.50
MackBok Pro OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Thank you for your reply.  I followed your suggestion and restored my iPod to its factory settings.  I then restored it from a backup file.  All the problems have been resolved.  Quite incredible that I had to go through that process to fix it.  I hope Apple will find a solution to the iTunes problem soon.

  • Itunes syncing problems

i tried to synce my ipod with itunes and its keeps popping up a window saying " Songs on the ipod cannot by synced because all of the playlists selected for syncing no longer exist" can anyone help me im going on a raod trip tomorrow, I need songs in my ipod!!!

You get this problem when the option 'Sync Music - Selected playlists' is being used to sync your iPod and then the playlist it has been updating from is deleted. Most people use this setting when the iPod is smaller than the iTunes library. If your library is larger than the capacity of your iPod, iTunes by default makes a new playlist called something along the lines of "Owner's iPod". If you for any reason delete it, you will not be able to sync your iPod.
Open iTunes and create a playlist to update your iPod from, call it -iPod to make it the first playlist in Sources. You can make this a normal playlist and drag whatever you want to it or you can make it a random Smart playlist. If you are making a smart playlist limit it to just less than the size of your iPod (for example 3700MB for a 4G iPod Nano). Now connect your iPod and when it appears in the Source list click on the iPod icon to bring up the preference tabs in the main pane. Go to the Music tab and choose Sync Music and the Selected playlists radio button. Choose the playlist you just made from the selection and click Apply. You can also sync from any existing playlists by choosing the same setting, you just need to make sure that the size of the playlists don't exceed the capacity of your iPod:
iTunes: Creating playlists of your favorite songs
How to create a Smart Playlist with iTunes
To make a random playlist go to File>New Smart Playlist.
    Uncheck "Match the following rule"
Check "Limit to" put "3700" in the number box, choose "MB" from the first list box, choose "Random" from the next list box. Check "Live Updating"
When you want to change the selection in the playlist just delete everything in it and it will add a new selection

  • ITunes Sync Problems With iPhone & iPod Apps

Since i upgraded my Mbp i started getting this strange problems,
its effecting both iPhones and iPod,
I got a new model MBP so copy my entire itunes collection and sync it with the new mbp,
also copied over the iphone and ipod data (backups)
now everything was fine but the last 2 weeks itunes doesn't let me remove any apps from my iphone or ipod,
if i remove the apps from the phone/ipod and then connect to itunes it will reinstall all the apps,
if i connect to itunes and remove the apps it will some times reinstall or wait till the next time i sync my iphone or ipod and reinstall the same apps,
i have run out of solution to sort this out,
if the apps are deleted this does sort the problems out,
but some of the apps are paid apps, so don't want to loose them,
also if i delete and re-download the apps i still end up with the same problem..
any help on this will be great...

copy entire itunes folder with itunes data files,
remove itunes and completely erase it,
then download a fresh copy of itunes re-install,
and copy the itunes folder back over,
    then run the itunes setup,
connect your apple device all should be working fine now...

  • IPhone 4 won't back up (among other iTunes sync problems)

I've posted this issue in the iPhone forum (https://discussions.apple.com/message/18962855?ac_cid=op123456#18962855) but I'm having a series of overlapping problems related to my iPhone 4 and iTunes so I'll post here as well.  Here's the long diatribe
    1) 90% of the time that I try to open up the  "Music/iPod app" on my iPhone, it crashes before it loads anything viewable or listenable.   5% percent of the time it simply loads an empty interface with no music.  I know that there is music on there becuase the reamining 5% of the time it does work, and even when it doesn't work I can hit play on my headphone remote and listen to tracks.  These symptoms are present regardless of whether I have iTunes Match turned on or off on the phone itself (yes, I'm a paid user)
1A) During the 5% time that the Music/iPod app does work, iTunes Match, or iTunes in the Cloud, or whatever the **** ya wanna call it, doesn't work in any stable shape or predictable way.   Although I can "see" my tracks, any attempt to download them to my phone (even with WiFi connection) usually causes the phone to get confused about what it's downloaded vs what it hasn't.  For example, if i choose an album and click download all, then it'll start playing the songs as they come in (sometimes with hiccups, presumably from unfinished downloads).    Fine, no problem.  However, even if all song completely download as intended, I will eventually get an alert on the iphone saying "can't download track from the cloud" or "error downloading track from cloud"  (I don't have this alert committed to memory so I'm paraphrasing).   When this happens and I go to the Music Store to view the download que (which is somewhat odd since I'm not buying the tracks, but I digress) ALL of the tracks that I have selected to download  show a status of "waiting" even though ALL of them have actually already downloaded and I've listened to them.  The only way to alleviate the neverendign cycle is to do a restart on the phone.
    2) I wanted to back up my phone and do a complete restor to factory setting but I can't sync through iTunes.  When I connect the phone with the USB connector, iTunes sits in a perputual state of "Syncing iPhone (Step 1 of 5)" while the never ending sync clock spins at the top of my iPhone.
2A) If I disconnect the phone manually (pull the cord), the syncing arrows still spin. The only way to stop it is to do a restart on the phone.
2B) I've tried deleting previous backup files and manually backing up with no success.  Someone on the iPhone forum suggested manually deleting from ~/Library/Application Support/MobileSync/Backup but that path doesn't even exist on my system.  Sounds like that could easily be the culprit but even a new install of iTunes isn'ts solving the problem and it raises other questions of where my backups are currently residing.
    3) When the phone is connected to my laptop with the USB dock conector, iTunes says that my 32gb iPhone 4 is over capacity by 3.1gb.    However, when looking on the iPhone itself, it says that I've used 17.4GB and have 11.2 available.
Notes which may or may not be of significance:
    A) I had a corrupted iTunes library on my external hard-drive a few months ago.    I don't know if this was the cause or the result of the above problems but that issue has since been taken care of. Sadly, my phone problems still persist.
    B) I've just learne of the application iExplorer and was thinking of using that to address any bad iTunes library that might exist on my phone. However, because I can't back up my phone yet (see 2 and 2A above), I'm reluctant to use any third party solution just yet.   I would love to know anyone's feedback on this product however.

I just updated my iTunes to 9.2.1 and my iPhone 4 backed up just fine. Did you make sure you did a restart of you computer after update. Check in your iTunes prefs and see if you have your auto sync disabled under devices. Let me know what happens

  • ITunes sync problems with iphone 5

Is anyone having problems with iTunes (11.1.2) not syncing properly with their iPhone 5?
    Some examples:
    Example 1
Existing playlist on Mac Mini (Mac OS X v10.7.5) edited to add a song
iPhone 5 (iOS v 7.0.3) "Sync Music" setup to sync 'Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres', with edited playlist selected
iPhone 5 hardwired to Mac Mini and 'Sync' clicked.
Upon completion of sync, playlist is not updated
Follow-up Action taken - unchecked "Sync Music" in iTunes for iPhone 5 and click 'Apply'
Upon completion of sync, all 'Playlists' are removed, but all 'Artists' and 'Songs' are still listed.
Re-checked "Sync Music" and clicked 'Apply'...sync showing that all selected music is being copied to the iPhone
Upon completion of 2nd sync, "Playlist" now updated.
This type of issue happens constantly.  I experienced something similar after I added an album and then "Selected" that artist to be included in the sync.  The initial sync did not include this new ablum.  It was only added to the phone after I unchecked "Sync Music", synchronized, and then re-checked it and synchronized again.
Can someone provide some insight as to why this is happening?

Alright. I was having the same problem at first. I would tell iTunes to synch playlists and it wouldn't synch the playlists at all, so it kept all the playlists that had been on my iphone to begin with. I followed some steps somewhere in Apple Discussions to get my iTunes to synch. So now it at least synchs!
    I did this:
    1. in itunes with the iphone plugged in uncheck the Sync Music Box from itunes
    2. on your iphone go to settings/general/usage/music and DELETE all music I know it's scary but trust me it works!
    3. power down the iphone
    4. unplug iphone from computer
    5. power down the computer
    6. power up iphone
    7. power up computer
    8. plug in iphone
    9. check Sync Music Box (except it was already checked for me...)
    10. sync
NOW my problem is that a smart playlist that I've been trying to synch has 106 songs on my iTunes (and according to iTunes that's how many songs are on the playlist on the iPhone), but on the iPhone itself, it has 274 songs on it. They aren't even duplicates, they're random songs that aren't on that playlist!
I really don't see the sense in backing it up and restoring it from the backup since that's literally giving the phone the same problems, and I'd clearly like to avoid wiping the slate clean and starting over both on my phone and on iTunes (I have 7100 songs. Would YOU want to wait that long to rebuild iTunes!?). Any tips?

  • IOS 7.1 iTunes sync problems

I updated my 64 GB iPhone 5 to iOS 7.1 the day it launched. Since then, I've had several bizarre issues with syncing music in iTunes. Certain songs will not sync that worked perfectly well prior to the update, without any error messages or other indications of cause.
I went straight for the nuclear option: I restored my iPhone to factory defaults, set it up like a new phone, and started a new sync. The problems persisted. In fact, iTunes is now telling me that I'm over capacity by 4.47 GB, with 15.37 GB used by "Other" storage. (I have 45.61 GB of music showing (roughly accurate), and just about 1 GB of app/document/etc. data. I wiped off all of my photos in the restore.)
Is there anything I can do to fix these problems, or do I have to wait for iOS 7.1.1?

Update on the problem: Syncing by wifi didn't change anything, so it's not the cable.
Furthermore, if I go into iTunes and view the music currently on the iPhone, all of the songs are supposedly on the phone. However, only 5885 of those 7872 songs are visible in the Music app. None of the "missing" songs can be found by Spotlight either. The 45.47 GB currently reported for audio on the sync screen is also accurate.
And yet I still have 15.42 GB of "Other", and I'm supposedly over capacity by 4.50 GB now - a higher number than last time, despite reducing the file size of several songs with the "convert to 192 kbps" feature since my last sync.
I am absolutely stumped. Does anyone have any idea at all what is going on?

  • IOS 8 iTunes sync problem

I bought a 128GB iPhone 6 Plus in order to sync all my music. When I tell iTunes to sync all my music, it does so (takes over an hour) and my phone shows as having 80GB of Audio. All the music plays on my phone.
However, without making any changes, the next time I plug in the phone *all* of my music becomes unplayable on the phone. Each track just skips immediately to the next and each is marked with the 'square in a circle' icon.
Now when I look at the used space on my phone in iTunes, the 80GB of Audio has changed to 80GB of 'Other'. The music won't play on the phone and there's no way of removing that 80GB of Other without wiping the phone.
    What's happening?

Yep, exact same thing happened to me.  I have synched my Iphone 6 128gb many times without issue, and adding new playlists/tracks.  Then suddenly yesterday it got hung up on the synch step "waiting for changes to be applied" and all but about 15% of my music was gone from my phone.  The playlists were showing up but they were empty.  Reset the phone, restart macbook, no change.  After multiple attempts, I was finally able (don't remember how) to re-synch my music to my phone, however, now I have 40gb of music & 40gb of "other" using storage.  It's as if there is a ghost copy of my entire synched library stored in Other, with no way to delete it because it doesn't show up under "Usage" in Settings.  Which really *****, b/c now I only have 19gb of free space on my phone when i should have about 50gb.
I am reading that many people are having multiple issues with synching music so this is a common problem.  It is very annoying, i'm glad I was able to get my music back on the phone, but i'm afraid to plug it in again as it might delete the music again, or put even more into Other.  And I can no longer edit what music and playlists I have on my phone.  This is a basic function of itunes that is now failing.  What has happened to Apple quality control?

  • Itunes sync problems (and wish list)

No doubt the iPhone is the most beautiful mobile phone with the greatest (and most consistent user experience). Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for iTunes! This tool (and being forced to use it) is the single greatest frustration in the iPhone experience!
I am sure many may not agree with me, especially considering it works fairly well as long as you don't change computers, want to sync two different iDevices (with same account BUT different content), temporarily remove apps/songs because of storage limitations, use app folders and expect iTunes to respect their content and placement, or try anything else outside iTunes limited scope. In short, iTunes is either incredibly non-inuitive, I am an idiot for not figuring it out, or it is absolutely the worst part about the iDevice family.
My problems began when I changed computers and since then, I have not been able to sync to my new computer. The problem is (or seems) that iTune is insisting on syncing in *one direction only*, with the message, "Are you sure you want to sync apps? All existing apps and their data on the iPhone "xxxxxxx" will be replaced with apps from this iTunes library." This message appears when I attempt to check the Sync Apps check box.
So what do I do? I have already deleted iTunes and reinstalled it.
    - Yes, I have right-clicked on DEVICES, and selected BACKUP and SYNC and TRANSFER PURCHASES (why so many options AND what the heck are the differences?)
    - If I ignore that dire warning and select Sync Apps, the preview window shows all my apps in a jumbled mess. In stark contrast, my iPhone apps are arranged in my own logical order and placed in organized app folders. I am afraid if I click SYNC, this is the mess that iTunes will send to my iPhone!
All I want to do is start over... I just want to back up (or sync) the contents of my iPhone like I have done for the past two years.
Can someone please tell me how to sync iPhone ---> iTunes?
I love iDevices... if I have to purchase another tool, I am happy to do so.
    What about Touchcopy? http://www.wideanglesoftware.com/touchcopy/index.php?gclid=CPqksPK0wbICFYdxQgodV EQAGQ
Or is iTunes more capable than I realise?
Thank you for your kind assistance!

Oh yes, my wish list for iTunes:
    - Clearer messages that are more intuitive than what appears now.
    - The ability to store/swap apps/music/etc. temporarily off-line (because of iDevice storage constraints)
A backup/offline storage area that is ignored when syncing
    - iTunes should respect apps and app folder content and placements
    - Allow for multiple iDevices (with different content) on same iTunes account
I have an iPod, iPad, and iPhone - I want to be able to independently sync them on a single computer
      with a single iTunes account.
    - Make it easier to sync in either direction (and change sync direction)
    - Allow syncing (or backing up) of apps content. For instance, QUICKVOICE app! I cannot sync the content of this app! Apple doesn't allow access to the datastores (like Android) - very frustrating that I may have to resort to backing up this audio analog via an audio cable! Ridiculous!
    - Allow us to use the iDevice as a temporary USB storage device! Grrr... this is frustrating that I cannot do this! I admit, this has little to do with iTunes
However, it is the forced requirement of iTunes that is frustrating. This means that I cannot easily place documents to/from my iPhone (documents too large to email) when I at work because iTunes is not an allowed software.

  • IOS music library and iTunes syncing problems

    Hello,
Just wondering if the issues that have been bothering me for some time and with multiple recent iOS and iTunes versions are going to get fixed in the future?
Adding or removing music manually or automatically between iTunes and the iOS has resulted in the corruption of the music library on the iOS device several times and the solution to fix the problem is always to empty the device and to start over. For example today I noticed that the album art had disappeared from my music (a known issue) and I searched the forums for a solution. Well the solution is to empty all of the music from the device and upload it back again and the album art will be back. Great! Except the music got deleted and still the space in use is showing "other usage" for the exact size of my deleted music library. If I try to add some music it adds to the space of the mysterious occupied space and the device is soon full. Time to start from scratch again. The syncing is broken and the software is buggy and I'd like it to work flawlessly instead of starting from scratch every time I'm making any minor changes to my music library. I think the reliability of the software and the basic functions is more important than the ability for the phone to ring in the computer whenever I get a call. Which is pretty amazing in someone else's opinion I'm sure.
Oh yes and the iPad is not uploading updated apps to the iTunes automatically which it did some software versions ago (a known issue). This is annoying.

    Schpoiler,
I had the very same problem with you. I think the main reason for this happening is purchasing and downloading content with your phone. I don't know how it happens though, this seems the problem with me.
What I did is, I basically erased all content and settings from my iPhone and used my backup in my mac to install everything back again. After that, the "other usage" got really small in size and as I deleted all the songs by using syncing, I saw that music occupied no space in my phone. Then, I synchronized my music back again and now everything works just fine.

  • IPhoto / iTunes Sync Problems

Hi all, not sure if anyone else is having this problem.
Since the upgrade to iTunes 10.5 and iOS5 and iPhoto 9.2 and OS X 10.7.2 (phew!), I've had problems with photo synchronisation on my iPad and iPhone.
    So....
iPhoto reports that it has 2,610 photos in the library.
iTunes, when I select "all photos", says that it has 2,588.
My iDevice (whichever one it is) says it has 1,410 photos.
I'm not entirely sure why, but not all the pictures are transferring across, despite there being plenty of space. Synchronisation gives no error messages and completes like everything's ok. It's only when I open up "photos" on the device concerned that I can see there's a problem.
With the upgrade to 9.2, I used the "cmd/option" button thingummy to try a rebuild of the entire iPhoto database. That helped a bit (got another 26 pictures across during sync), but hasn't cured the missing items problem completely.
The missing pictures problem seems fairly indiscriminate - all the albums seems to be missing a few, so it's not as though I can say there's a particular cut-off time that's given rise to the issue.
Anyone got any suggestions? I've also repaired permissions and all sorts in an effort to rectify things.
    Thanks,
    M.

I suggest that you try to reset your sync history. Open iSync, go to preferences, and click Reset Sync History.

  • Please help! ipad/iphone to itunes syncing problems

For the past few days I've been having problems getting my ipad to take the new update.   Everytime I would tell it to update it would either freeze shortly into the backup or it would tell me that "itunes could not back up the ipad " " because the ipad backup could not be saved to the computer".  Anyways, I finally thought I fixed this by following the steps of deleting the backup, etc.  After I did that, it started giving me an error message of "itunes could not back up the ipad " " because a session could not be started with the ipad".  I've looked at other error messages associated with this, and they seemed to point at a direct ipad-itunes problem, but whenever I tryed to sync up my iphone, it gave me the same message.  It also is not connecting to the itunes store (will only say itunes store on a white background), but will download updates and things. I've taken down all potential firewalls, and I'm just plain stuck and confused right now.
Please someone help me... I feel like I'm losing my mind being unable to figure this out!

    - Try another cable
    - Try another computer
