ITunes 9 won't store settings for iPhoto Sync

After installing iTunes 9 I experience the following problem:
In iTunes I select the option to sync all photos from the last year. It will sync with the Apple TV and you can watch the photos on the Apple TV. But after closing iTunes and restart it it will sync with the Apple TV and loose all the photos because the selection is gone. When I select specific events, they stay selected after a restart.
Who has a solution?

Sorry, no solution but I have the same issue.
I tried to sync all events from iTunes 9 to Apple TV, which works fine until I restart iTunes. Then, the photo settings revert to 'no events' and removes all photos.
I've set iTunes to automatically sync all photos and albums for now as this doesn't lose all my photos during sync, but would much rather sync all my events.
Maybe will be sorted after an Apple TV update? Here's hoping...

    Try reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
Note: Data will not be affected.

  • ITunes won't allow me to play/sync to ipod a digital copy

I've just bought X-men Origins: Wolverine on dvd and it came with a digital copy, so i tried adding it to iTunes and that seemed to work but when i tried to play it, it plays (the seconds and minutes go forward) but with no picture/sound. When i tried to sync it to my iPod it said that I'm not authorised to play it on this computer. Thoughts?

Try creating a play list and then choose only the songs you want in that play list.
Then in iPad settings for music. Select manual selection and then just put a check mark by the new play list you just created. This way it only syncs this customized play list and not all of your music.
Sorry, I don't have specific steps in front of me. You can probably just search for a tip on Apple's website if you need specifics.
    Good luck,

  • Best settings for iPhoto Slideshow Export

My aim is to export an iPhoto slideshow (iPhoto ‘11 v9.3.1) and import into the FCP7 sequence with the best possible quality.
Original video source - Sony camcorder - DV PAL (16.9 anamorphic) imported into FCP7 with a sequence preset of DV PAL 48 KHz Anamorphic (720 x 576)
    Stills for slideshow - 3648 x 2736 Jpeg
I realise I will lose significant quality to fit the restraints of the DV sequence and so after some tests the best result was through a custom export from iPhoto
    Compression - H.264
    Frame rate changed to 25
Keyframes & data rate - Automatic
    Quality - Best
    Encoding - Best Quality (multi-pass)
    Size - 768 x 576 SD
    A few thoughts -
Are there other settings for better results?
The resulting QT movie had a slightly inferior quality inside Final Cut than when played outside with Quicktime Player
Any movement over the stills created a strobing/flickering effect inside Final Cut - I have never been able to sort this problem out and now no longer set keyframes to move over stills.
I have tried a third party software (Industrial Revolution CoverFlux2) with no great improvement re flickering problem and general quality
The sequence is 16.9 but any attempt to export the slideshow to fit (eg 720 x 576 16.9) stretches the images.

You're already in FCP7 so why go to iPhoto and then back to FCP?  That just adds layers of encoding which will reduce the final image quality.  As TD pointed out keep it in FCP

  • Itunes won't recognise changes in iphoto

I noticed that when I did a sync, my recent photos were not appearing on my iphone. Then I discovered that the lists of albums and events on the itunes sync page were not registering new events or any changes that I had made in iphoto for the previous two weeks or so. I have no idea why not. I looked around these forums, and saw that Apple recommended that we delete the ipod photo cache from the iphoto library contents. I did that, but no change in behaviour. I restored from backup: no change in behaviour. The relationship between itunes and iphoto seems to be frozen in time.
    Any ideas?

iTunes does not have a 'Watched Folder' feature. If you add folders/files to the directory structure, iTunes will not automatically pick up the new songs.
You can just File=>Add Folder and point it to the new addition. Typically, iTunes will not re-add music files it already knows about, so you can perform this a bit more 'globally'.
That's the best you're going to get (with iTunes).

  • Help: iTunes won't burn cds for me

I recently got a new laptop-- a Dell Inspiron 700m (Windows XP, Service Pack 2, etc.)-- and when I try to burn a playlist in iTunes, it says that my disc burner or software are not found. I'm able to drag and drop files onto the cd icon in my computer and burn files that way, so I know the cd burner works. And I've been able to burn songs in Windows Media Player. So what's wrong with iTunes? In Properties on my hardrive, the hardware tab recognizes my CD-RW/DVD burner drive: NEC DVD+RW ND 6650A and V386 STEALTH DVD SCSI CdRom Device are listed.
Can anyone help me? Does iTunes just not work with some cd drivers? If not, then what do I do with all my iTunes songs that won't play in Windows Media Player? Are they convertible somehow, even the ones I purchased from off the iTunes music store?
I'm so frustrated! Any help out there is much appreciated.

    Hello TigerJon
I've had what appears to be the same problem as many many more people on this site, but I'm not sure if my issue is the same as yours.
For mine, the problem is Itunes hangs when I try to burn a cd.
I haven't got a complete fix, after 4 months of trying but I've got as far as I have with the help of Toonz and the people at Apple.
Now here is what I have found:
    1. The problem with my Itunes hanging at burning only happens if I have a mixed playlist that I am trying to burn. When I say mixed I mean a mix of purchased tracks and uploaded tracks from my cd collection. Just uploaded tracks work fine.
    2. If I just burn a playlist of purchased tracks it works fine too.
    3. If I don't control alt delete when it hangs, and I wait for up to 2 minutes, the burn evenutally kicks in. Don't do anything. Just leave it and see what happens. I was having to control alt delete to get out of the unresponsive Itunes, but by chance, yesterday, discovered that by leaving it it finally burnt my cd! This was a mixed cd with both purchased tracks and uploaded tracks.
Now, the people at Apple don't yet know why this is doing this. It only happens since version 6 of Itunes. This version (I think) was the first to introduce the "checkingplaylist" stage of burning and they seem to think that it might just be something to do with that.
Anyway, that all helped me. It is still frustrating to have to wait for a couple of minutes, but it's better than nothing. They are still trying to get to the bottom of this for me, too.
    I hope this helps you.
Please give me some feedback if it has, as I'd love to know that all my efforts over the last few months could help others!
    Good luck
    Jane

  • Itunes won't recognize my iphone and sync

When i pjug my iphone 4s into my computer it won't sync my phone.  The computer says that its plugged in and i can access photos through the laptop but itunes says there is no device in.  This happenend since i updated itunes two days ago.  I would like to avoid deleting itunes and reinstalling since i have 10,000songs in itunes with 8,000 checked and 6,000 set to sync on my phone, and redoing that is not something i would like to happen.  I tried restarting the phone, itunes, and my computer but thats all i know how to do.  Any advice?

  • I have one random Apple ID that appears only when I go to itunes or App Store.  For everything else I have my Apple ID and password all set.  Can I get rid of this thing?

This is a Question:  I have one random Apple ID that comes up only when I'm trying to access Apps or iTunes.  I have another Apple ID with a password that works just fine for everything else.  I do not have a password for this random id.  How can I get rid of it?  I can't perform updates is the big issue.

Jonathan:This seems to make a lot of sense.  My only follow up question is:  will I have any trouble getting iTunes and
    Apps back?
Will apple charge me?  I really can't remember clearly, but it seems to me that iTunes and Apps were present on the
iPad2 that was given to me as a gift, but I could be mistaken.
If I am all clear for getting those two stores back with an easy selection, then I will use your solution.
Have a great season, my friend- this was driving me nuts!  Thank you so much!

Google search has explained to me that this is related to Bonjour but nothing further. I have done the 'usual' - booted in safe mode, repaired permissions, updated software, reinstalled Mountain Lion via Disc Recovery, restarted my modem etc.
Before I just wipe the hard drive and start again from scratch, maybe there's something obvious I'm not doing? Every other device in the house (2 x Iphones, 2 x Ipads, 1 Apple TV, 2 wifi radios and 1 other IMac desktop) have no problems with the wifi network.

I am having similar issue.  Getting these same 24 error messages everytime I start iTunes. Sharing is already off.

  • Itunes won't transfer purchases for upgrade to os because not authorized and won't authorize

I am trying to update the ios on my iphone 4 and when I connect to itunes it asks to transfer any purchases.  Then it says I have to authorize the computer. Then it says that I have too many computers authorized (over 5). When I check itunes on the web it says I have 4 out of 5 authorized.  So it sounds like I have to de-authorize the new imac, the old imac g5 and the old pwrbk g4 titanium and then re-authorize them 1 at a time.  Any one else know about this or have some advice?
    Thanks in advance

sign into the Itunes store on the Itunes store tab on the Itunes app.  Then look at the devices authorized for Itunes and de-authorize all.  Then re-authorize the devices you currently use.

  • Smtp settings for Iphoto

I have a rather annoying problem. On an Imac I want to create a mail account in IPhoto with the same smtp server that I use for the mail client. I tried to use the "Other" option while creating it but it doesn't work. The smtp server I use is the one from the ADSL provider which is fine and doesn't need an account and password. But somehow the IPhoto client runs a check and if you leave the account box empty, IPhoto typs the name "John".  It makes me crazy. No, I don't want to use gmail, AOL, exchange or ICloud, I want to use my own smtp server which I use in every mailaccount and which works fine. But it can't be done...Why?  Or what am I doeing wrong???

Contact support for your mail service and have them assist you with your settings
    Or
IMHO the better solution is to set Mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

  • Photoshop Elements 4.0 won't save changes for IPhoto 6.0.2.

At some point following installation of IPhoto 6.0.2, a problem appeared during editing photos with IPhoto preferences set for opening in Photoshop Elements 4.0: When I hit "save", the following dialog box appears: "could not build a preview because of a program error." My edited changes are lost and don't appear back into IPhoto. (On force-quitting PhotoShop Elements, I now CAN properly save the changes back to IPhoto.) Or sometimes Photoshop Elements “unexpectedly quits” during the editing attempt.
The problem was not solved by reinstalling Photoshop Elements 4 and is similar on two different computers (IMac G4 and PowerBook G4).
I assume the problem resides with IPhoto (presumably v 6.0.2), not Photoshop Elements. Even though I have my IPhoto Library backed up on a Lacie external hard drive, I've hesitated tweaking my IPhoto program (such as to ditch preferences or reinstall).
    Any suggestions?

Lori, thanks a million! The answer does seem to have been found in the Adobe forum you suggested: It suggests going to user>library>preferences folder and delete Adobe Save for Web prefs. A friend also suggested saving Photoshop Elements edited changes by using "save as" as opposed to "save" which gives another (slightly tedious) fix that translates back to IPhoto.
