  • Itunes keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!

After new Itunes update ... it  keeps crashing with Windows 8.1 and doesn't recognize my iphone or ipad to syn.  Frustrated!!!  I have unninstalled it .. installed it, but nothing happens.  I even loaded an earlier itunes version, it worked without crashing, but it still did not recognize iphone or ipad.

Do you get an error message when you try to launch iTunes? If so, what does it say? (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes keeps crashing with windows 7

iTunes 7 keeps crashing on windows 7. please help.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • ITunes Backup crash on Windows 7

Recently I have been having a problem with syncing my iPhone 4 16Gb with iTunes 11.0.4.4. I would open iTunes and it would fine while playing music etc. but as soon as I plug in my iPhone and backs up, iTunes would crash when back up has reached step 2, leaving me with "iTunes has stopped working"

I have tried almost everything to solve this problem, if anyone could help, it would be greatly appreciated!
    BTW: I am using Windows 7 64-bit

Whatsupp y'all.. So my problem has been solved, thanks to none of the apple support people! Anyway the thing that solved it was something to do with a process that had to be terminated, I'm not sure if this will help you, but when I wanted to safely remove a USB from my PC, it kept saying "the device is currently in use" eventhough I wasn't using the device, anyway I went to http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-hardware/problem-ejec ting-usb-mass-storage-device-this/1863c012-ff54-e011-8dfc-68b599b31bf5 to solve the usb problem by downloading http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653 just after terminating a few processes I was able to eject my USB, for intrest's sake I tried to sync my iPhone and it worked.
A day or two later my iTunes gave the same sync problem and I tried the process ending thing again and it solved the problem..
    Anyways, hope this helped.

    Thanks,

So here is the weird thing. I got this error as soon as I attempted to access the iTunes store -- then again as soon as I restarted iTunes.
Both times it errored out with the above event viewer error which was of no help:
Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 11.0.0.163, time stamp: 0x50b71fed
Faulting module name: unknown, version: 0.0.0.0, time stamp: 0x00000000
    Exception code: 0xc0000005
    Fault offset: 0x00000000
    Faulting process id: 0x1674
    Faulting application start time: 0x01cdd96bd3867602
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes\iTunes.exe
    Faulting module path: unknown
    Report Id: 178b184d-455f-11e2-a2e9-0026b97a674b
However -- on my third attempt -- it loaded up just fine and has not crashed. I was able to access the iTunes store and my library but have not actually played any files yet.
And my setup is 64bit Windows 7.
If it happens again i'll repost any extra findings but I guess I was lucky enough that the problem went away and somehow corrected itself? Very strange.

  • How to fix 12.1.1.4 iTunes keeps crashing on Windows 8.1

How do I fix iTunes 12.1.1.4 which keeps crashing on Windows 8.1 (64 bit)?

See HT203206: iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8: Fix unexpected quits or launch issues.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Had you previously installed iTunes 9.2.0.x and lost your networks?
If you hadn't installed a 9.2.0.x or higher and lost your networks, it's possible that you're getting a version of the trouble with AMDS that produced those issues a little later than most folks.
Crazy_k's post in the following thread has been of some assistance to folks with that issue. (There are some refinements to the procedure posted in there too, but they're a bit difficult to track down since the thread is so big.)

  • IOS6 iTunes App Crash

In order to get iOS6 on my iPhone 4, I had to delete some music to have the necessary 2.5 GB for the update. When attempting to recover large music collections (The Beatles Box Set) the app crashes when loading up the list of albums. I've restarted, hard rebooted, and tried on Wi-Fi as well as 3G. I've let the app run until it just crashes out tons of times. A screenshot is below, it doesn't give much help but at least shows you the current step I am stuck on. Any one have any ideas on how to get the music back?

  • Itunes app crashes on opening.Cant open it.

    Hi !
I recently upgraded my Mac Mini (Mid 2011) with OSX Mavericks. Previously I had OSX Mountain Lion. After installing i noticed that the iTunes app on Mavericks OS had older version 11.x and my Mountain Lion HDD had latest version 12.x. So first I tried to copy the 12.x iTunes app and then replace it over iTunes 11.x on My mac but it was refused.
Later on what I did was, right click iTunes.app (12.x)> Show Package Contents ,copied the complete folder and replace the same with one on My Mavericks installed (11.x). The packages changed and iTunes New Red Logo also appears but when I click it, it crashes . Here is the latest Log.
Also, App store app also does not show iTunes update anymore as I have package contents for the latest one.

Please help me to revert back to 11.x app OR fix this one. Without reinstalling the Mac osx.
Is there any way I can force download iTunes.app ?
    Thanks,

Move your iTunes app to the trash using this Terminal command: please copy paste it or make REALLY sure you didn't make a typo.
    sudo rm -R /Applications/iTunes.app/
Then re-download and install it from here: http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
In the future, use Software Update to get a newer version of an application, instead of copying it.

  • ITunes App crashes when streaming podcasts

    Hi,
When I stream podcasts from the iTunes app, sometimes it works fine, but most of the time, iTunes will either close all together, or close out of the stream. I will sometimes have to click to start the stream 4 or 5 times before it will actually play. It has been this way with every OS I have had installed on my phone.
    Any help appreciated. Thanks!

I should clarify--I'm not trying to stream, per se, but rather my entire music collection is on a NAS. In the past I've added all this music to my itunes library so I can sync with iphone, etc. It's sometimes slow, mostly because of the ridiculous "gapless playback" check, but usable. Itunes 10 is completely worthless--couldn't even get the library loaded without an eternal spinning ball. If anyone else has had this issue and has updated to 10.01 successfully, please let me know. I don't want to go through rebuilding my library again if the update doesn't work.

  • ITunes BEX crash in Windows 7 Home Premium

Hi all, trust me when I say I researched this extensively before asking. I just got a new iPhone 5C today, and of course had to upgrade to the latest 64-bit iTunes from the version that had been flawlessly working with my 3GS for years. It absolutely will not finish opening no matter what: I've tried reinstalling, using an older version of 64-bit iTunes from oldapps.com, uninstalling and reinstalling the latest version of QuickTime, and removing the K-Lite Mega Codec Pak (another bizarre suggestion that apparently worked for some). All this activity was followed up with deep registry clean using Wise Registry Cleaner and other standard housekeeping procedures.
Here is the crash report -

I can see this issue has been plaguing iTunes upgrades in Windows for some y4ears now. Hope someone can help with the latest iteration, or none of my apps or music will ever make it onto the phone, and I'll likely tell my mobile provider I want to go back to the 3GS. TIA...

This is not Apple Support, but iTunes users.  Turingtest2 has a detailed tutorial here: Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates which should help you sort out your problem.  Some users encounter issues where the components that make up iTunes are not correctly removed, replaced or updated when a new version of iTunes is installed; others here can advise you on the procedure to follow to remove all the iTunes components before installing an update.

  • Itunes 12 crashing on Windows 7 PC

I've tried all the steps in the troubleshooting section for this problem, as well as uninstalling and reinstalling itunes numerous times to no avail. It will randomly crash and shut down anytime I'm trying to use it.

  • ITunes Match crash on Windows 7 pc

    Hello,
Anyone who could assist me with iTunes crashing when on step 2 from iTunes Match on Windows 7 64bit? I have reinstalled iTunes, no effect. I have taken the error tracks out as suggested in a forum, didn't help. Of course I prefer not to format and reinstall Windows as I just did it last week because of some other software issues.
Every time I restart iTunes I manage to get about 200 songs past the last crash point but since I have 20000 songs I can't keep on doing this.
    Thanks!

+I think it may depend on lots of factors, processor, ram, music collection,+
I agree with Miles on this. 1 minute sounds kind of long for 8GB, but if you have a lot of other programs open as well, I can see that.
Also, if you have security software, it might be scanning itunes when it starts up and that could add time.
