ITunes - Back Up To DVD Failing
Hello.
So basically, like 2 months ago, I backed up all my songs to this DVD. Lately, I got a bunch of new songs, and want to re-backup, now, when I do backup, it says "Disc burner or software not found".... since 2 months ago, i haven't deleted my DVD burner, nor have I change settings in iTunes, although,I did update iTunes to 7.1.1, maybe thats the problem?
Anyone? IM BEGGING PLZ!!!

Does your purchased rmusic appears under the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page (music can't be re-downloaded in all countries) ? If they do and you don't have the cloud symbol against them so as to re-download them, then do you still have the entries for them in your library i.e. where you would normally click on them to play them ? If you do then try deleting them from there (iTunes will be seeing them and assuming that you still have them somewhere) and they should then get the cloud symbol for re-downloading in the Purchased link.

Tried to update ITunes, but keep getting error: Service "Apple Mobile Device failed to start. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to start system services."
So how do I get my ITunes back?Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

Just tried to update iPhone 4S to 6.1 and it first of all failed to back up then it failed to update (Error 11) so i had to put it in recovery mode and restore it then it failed to restore with an unknown error starting to think its an itunes issue does anyone have any advice?
if your computer is not recognizing it, try using a different USB port or different usb cable. if that doesnt work you will need to uninstall and reinstall itunes.

I had to wipe my phone clean because of storage issues. It kept saying I didn't have enough storage for pics or apps, but I only had about 75 pics and 1 extra app. So, I backed up my iPhone on icloud and itunes, then cleared off my iphone using the steps in the settings. Then, when I am going back to restore my iPhone using iTunes back up and iCloud backup, it fails in both locations. It says it failed to be completed.

I was able to restore my backup from my time machine ext drive to a new 1tb seagate ext drive. so i felt sort of ok. but yesterday that older ext drive i used for time machine wouldn't open! i called applecare and they trouble shooted with me and said it's probably a goner and data is probably corrupted. it's only a few years old and i'm very careful with it. my husband accidentally dropped my new drive last night -- i know, unbelievable, i was SO upset, poor guy -- but I'm so stressed with all of this. i have 10 years of photos and videos. so now i only have the one newer drive with a backup. i have to buy another one today to backup again so i at least have two backups. i tried to delete a ton of files last night to free up the 30 gb of space i need to get my full library back on my mac. i have 90gb free and deleted 7 years worth of photos i had on picasa that were in my "pictures" folder and also a ton or random photos and videos i had in that same pictures folder and thought that would give me the 30 gb but it hardly freed up any space at all! do you know why that is? all of this stuff is really a pain and really stressful. thank god i did have a backup in the first place but now i am panicked the one i have left will somehow crash. especially after my husband dropped the drive lastnight! it didn't fall far and fell onto a wood floor and seems fine, but after my older ext drive crashed yesterday -- and i lost my entire iphoto library a fewweeks ago off my mac -- i feel cursed. any answers you have would be great. thank you.

DO NOT UPGRADE TO MAVERICK UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE DEPENDED ON APPLE’S CLOUD. It removes the ability to sync Calendar, Notepad, and Contacts between your apple devices. You then can only sync them via Apple’s Cloud. For those of you like me, that do not want to be depended on an external data base accessible via the Internet or Cel Phone (with data charges).
Why do I not want to use the Cloud to sync and backup?
1. I found I only have one device with me at a time or am sitting at a computer when I add to my calendar, make a note, or add/change a Contact. Syncing with iTunes while upgrading apps and doing a back up to two external hard drives worked great and met my needs.
2. I use WiFi and pay for the minimum data plan with my Cel provider (AT&T). I do not want to pay higher monthly data fees.
3. I do not like a central data base (that will be hacked someday) having the personal info I have in my Notes, Schedule, and Contacts.
4. I like the security of my most important data being on my own hard drives and written off to Data DVD’s, not subject to even rare central system outages/failures.
5. I do not like the prospect of becoming dependent on a Cloud in which the provider could decide at any time to either start selling information or charging monthly fees to recover the costs of providing the cloud.
I am reluctant to go to the trouble to go back to 10.8 because Apple will eventual stop providing updates to 10.8 and 10.8 compatible applications.
PLEASE APPLE, GIVE US SYNCING VIA ITUNES BACK!!!!!! Why take away one of the most valuable features of iTunes???? Why take away our choice of syncing via the Cloud or locally with iTunes????You will need to contact Apple through their feedfack channel. These are user to user forums, sorry.

On Windows Vista and tried several times to start up my iTunes, but keep getting 'application failed MSVCR80.dll error-7 (windows 126) is this an easy fix ...?
Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I want to know if it is possible to burn an itunes purchased movie to dvd to play on a stand-alone dvd player? If so, what is the quality of the burned dvd? Using itunes 8.01, i believe.

Your media is only where you put it.
If you have failed to maintain a backup, then you may seriously be out of luck.
Apps can be redownloaded as many times as you like.
If you are in the US and running iTunes 10.3 or later, then it is possible to redownloaded music via iCloud from the purchase history in iTunes.
Outside the US, you can try contacting iTunes customer support. Just keep in mind they are under no obligation to assist simply because the customer failed to maintain backups of the customers purchased content. -
Tried to burn a dvd of a slideshow created originally in iPhoto that had audio I'd downloaded from iTunes. Got error message that audio would only play back on authorized machine. Is it even possible to use music downloaded from iTunes when burning a dvd from a slideshow, or am I limited to music that I own rather than license? Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions.
iMac Mac OS X (10.3.9)Music you download from iTunes is in .m4p format and is recognized by the ilife apps as copyrighted. To get around this, burn the songs onto a CD and then "re-rip" them off of the CD back into itunes. This should remove the copyright tag and make them .mp3 and they should work. I have used this technique several times and it has always worked. Good luck.
