ITunes behavior after downloading version 7.1

After downloading iTunes version 7.1 the behavior o my library changed drastically:
1) In cover flow, the song order changed from track number (1, 2, 3,...), to alphabetical order;
2)In cover flow, the albums do not appear in alphabetical order and I cannot understand what the criteria for the order is;
3) In cover flow mode, each song is shown as a seperate album - they are not grouped any more as one album.

I just took a closer look at the way the new version works. U have to select from the title bars what U want.

Me too. I'm runing 10.4.8 on a PPC G4 1.2 mhz 1.5 gig & it's all hiccuppy and stuff.

After downloading the 11.1 update, my iTunes won't bother in opening. I click on the app on my Mac, and after just one bounce, it does not respond. I have tried turning my computer on and off, but it still won't respond. I'm really worried since I have about 13GB of music in my iTunes, and I really don't want to lose all that music. I'm having the same problem Kyrabashi's having, and did try to open iTunes from Applications folder. Icon bounces once, sadly, then nothing happens. I've obviously tried rebooting laptop, etc., with no effect. Anybody have an idea?

The reply from cor-el assumes that the question was about an ordinary download, managed by the "Downloads" panel interface. A Firefox update does its downloading (before installation) with a different interface panel. I do not have a screen-capture of the actual panel in that it's appearance happened a few days ago and our final approach was to suspend the automatic download (note that that had been started in error), and then to do all the manual steps we usually would do for a deliberately, manually-started, update. But the "hanging in mid-air" update forced us to do that update in a way and at a time that we ordinarily would not do it.
I still contend that the Firefox update progress panel (whatever it is labelled) does *'''NOT*''' have any obvious cancellation interface, not even the "x" noted above. (... and if it *only* had an "x", in my opinion that would not be a sufficiently obvious interface as compared to having a "Cancel" button.)

ITunes won't open after downloading version 8.0.2

I downloaded the 8.0.2 version of iTunes on Nov 25 and ever since I have not been able to open iTunes. Every time I try I get "The application iTunes quit unexpectedly". If I click relaunch the same message pops up. Reporting it to Apple does nothing and clicking Ignore does nothing. Even when I connect my iPod touch I get the same message.
I don't know what to do to make it work again and I'm getting really frustrated.
Please Help!

I have had the same problem - I have uninstalled iTunes per the proper approach - see http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1224 - after having used Disk Utility and getting rid of the preferences. Still no joy. It is a mixed blessing to find others out there with the same problem but no solution. We all seem to need help.
Curious thing is, if I go back to iTunes 6, it works!

That suggests that the installer is getting damaged during the download.
I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

CDs will not play or import after downloading version 6

I got the message asking did I want to download to the latest version (6) of Itunes, so I said yes to install as normal. After it completed I was unable and am still unable to play or import CDs using Itunes. It seems to play the first few seconds of each song and skip to the next. I wonder if anyone knows how to solve this problem or alternatively go back to the old version of Itunes without losing my existing library?

Upgrade for Itunes 11.0.4. No Itune Access After Download

Hi. I downloaded Itunes 11.0.4 from my previous Itunes version. The screen and tutorial froze. Then, I downloaded 11.0.4 for Windows 7 from the Apple website. I was able to watch the tutorial, but the Itunes screen is frozen. No access. I have tried restarting my computer and re-downloading. I have troubleshooted it on my PC and it refers me to the same Apple page were I received my download. My PC does meet the minimum requirements for the download. I would appreciate anyone's help with this. Thanks.

I solved this problem. I restored my computer to back to a previous time before the download. Then I downloaded 11.0.4 for Windows 7 (and other versions) directly from the Apple website. It works now.

Itunes stuck after downloading

I downloaded the new itunes, everything went successfully, till I tried to open it. I double click the icon. It has me accept the user agreement, then a message that says "The file itunelibrary.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of itunes." I click ok, and thats it. nothing. itunes will not open.

Cannot print pdf files after downloading version 8.1.2

windows xp pro hp photsmart all in one printer 512 ram

I am running windows XP and recently downloaded Adobe Reader 8.1.2. When I try to print any .PDF document (new or old), I get a "Unable to start print job. Is printer available" message. I checked the printer, nothing is in the que and the printer works fine with every other program, except the PDF files. I have tried uninstalling it and it will not. I have tried to install updates and it will not. It asks me to check on a patch, and I don't know how to do that. I have tried installing version 7 and it tells me no, I have a more recent version...
I have tried changing the comments and forums drop down menu; Advanced: print as image or not; and also switching print to file off. All result in the same error message: "Unable to start print job. Is printer available" I have spent countless hours with the tech support for the HP 3 in one Printer, and there is nothing wrong with the printer. It would appear that a patch is missing to solve this problem???
I had to give up on version 8.1.2 and when I had difficulty removing it through Add/Remove programs, I used the Windows Install Clean up utility to remove it. Then I installed version 7 and do not take upgrades to 8.1.2. It was the best option for my needs, given that Adobe does not seem to have taken on repairing the problem. In my troubleshooting, it is not a printer issue.

ITunes crashing after latest version upgrade

I have a 64-bit Windows 7 laptop. I installed the latest version of iTunes (10.5.1) for 64-bit machines and now I get blue screen every time I open iTunes. Is anyone else having this issue? If so, any solutions? Thanks!

There are many factors causing BSOD in WIndows.
First thing to check is the Windows system file corruption.(SFC /SCANNOW as indicated in the first reply).
Next is check your harddrive for file allocation errors and/or bad sectors and memory errors.
To check for hard disk errors
Open Computer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Computer.
Right-click the drive that you want to check, and then click Properties.
Click the Tools tab, and then, under Error-checking, click Check now. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
To automatically repair problems with files and folders that the scan detects, select Automatically fix file system errors. Otherwise, the disk check will report problems but not fix them.
To perform a thorough check, select Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors. This scan attempts to find and repair physical errors on the drive itself, and it can take much longer to complete.
To check for both file errors and physical errors, select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors.
Click Start.
To check for memory problems
Open Memory Diagnostics Tool by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Control Panel. In the search box, type Memory, and then click Diagnose your computer's memory problems. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
Choose when to run the tool. If you choose to restart your computer and run the tool immediately, make sure that you save your work and close all of your running programs. The Memory Diagnostics Tool will run automatically when you restart Windows.
