Itunes cant find folder %APPDATA%\

I had a problem with my computer when backing up the harddrive. It had to clean out some stuff and it ended up cleaning out Quicktime and it told me to uninstall intunes and reinstall it. i went onto apple.com and tried reinstalling it but it popped up that itunes couldnt find folder %APPLDATA%\ so i installed Quicktime with no problem and tried downloading itunes but it popped up again.
HELP PLEASE!!!!!!

I am having the exact same problem as Ravi. I recently upgraded to iTunes version 5.0 and now the program will not even open. It hangs for about a minute and then the error box pops up with:
"The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created, and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder."
I have checked on the location of iTunes. It is in the right location but what is wierd is that when I click on the "My Music folder in the Explorer Window, my machine hangs for about 30 seconds before showing the contents. Then when I click on "iTunes" folder, the machine hangs indefinitely. It simply will not show me the contents of the folder. Eventually it gives me an error:
"Request cannot be performed because of an I/O device error."
I just reinstalled the iTunes 2 days ago hoping it would fix the problem, but no luck...I also tried the Tweak UI program, but to no avail...my machine hangs when I try to pick the "My Music" folder in the final step of the process.
Has anyone else had this problem?

Now signed up for Icloud - bought song through Itunes but cant find folder on Imac pc - is this correct - this is my first ever apple pc and not sure about folders etc - very different from Windows 7 which I was using

In the absence of any replies, I'd forgotten that I'd posted here, but I did manage to sort out the problem eventually.
I forget all the steps involved, and possibly some which may be pertinent, but in essence somewhere in the iCloud signup procedure I'd clicked something that told Address Book to upload to the Cloud, and otherwise remain invisible on the Mac.  Tinkering with the Address Book preference settings eventually restored the Contacts list to my iPhone.

what if itunes cant find my iphone when its in recovery mode?

Any possibility of opening it up and trying to troubleshoot it. Mine has completely died also. I'm seeing quite a few psots about this freakin' phone breaking. I've never dropped mine or gotten it wet, I barely use it & only had it a little over a year. Mine at this point will be used for target practice.

  • HELP! NEW NETBOOK+iTUNES-CANT-FIND-PHONE!!!! :(

    Hi!
    I just bought a netbook...
And I am connecting my iPhone in it...
    BUT!
The iTunes cant find my phone...
    In short...
I cant sync my iPhone in my netbook...
    Please! anyone! anybody!
    HELP me!
    >_<
How can I make my iTunes find my phone..?

What kind of netbook? Is it running a "real" version of Windows, or is it running Windows "Starter" edition?
I've seen lots of complaints from people running Windows Starter Edition on cheap netbooks. You may need to get a "real" computer. Many netbooks are hobbled beyond belief. Think about it... a fair number of them cost less than the iPhone does, even discounted with a multi-year contract. That should give you an idea of its capabilities.

  • Itunes cant find music files

Seems to be some discussion on this problem where as itunes will not play the music on the computer and says it cant find the music files. I found that the block for using itunes as default audio player has to be checked. This is in preferences under the advanced tab. Seems to come unchecked at times and stops the player. Also my music location, also under advanced will go back to default at times. (My files are on an external hard drive) Hope this helps.

  • Itunes cant find my library in external HD

    Ok Gang...
I consolidated my library and moved it to an external HD. I changed the advanced setting info to find my new external HD. But when I open Itunes it comes up blank no music library. Help How do I correct this problem. How do I tell Itunes to find my external HD and open the library?

There's been a few threads about this recently. Where we've all come unstuck is that even if we can get Itunes to look in the right place for the music (by consolidating, or dragging the files into the library) ... IT STILL LOSES ALL THE USER-GENERATED INFORMATION.
That is to say; you'll find your music again, but all the album art, ratings, playlists and so on that you made yourself will be gone gone gone.
No-one so far has come up with a solution to this. Several of us have found that even if we input it all again, it's lost the next time we connect the External.
If anyone has found a solution, PLEASE tell us, because this problem makes the entire ITunes experience time-consuming and pointless. You might as well go back to having a big pile of CDs on your bedroom floor!

  • Itunes cant find "iTunes" folder in Windows XP Professional

after installation of iTunes 4.7.1 without error messages, iTunes wont start up. Keeps giving error message:
The folder "iTunes" cannot be found or created and is required. The default location for this folder is inside the "My Music" folder.
On my windows xp box, there is a "My Music" folder at desktop level (c:\My Music ). iTunes installed iteself under Program Files (c:\Program Files\iTunes).
What is going on here? Is there a fix? I called Apple Tech Support. They walked me thru uninstall of the 4.7.1 and install of iTunes 5.1. Still get the same error.
When I google the error message, I can see quite a few people reporting frustration with this problem. Is it a known issue? If so, what is the solution!!!
    Thanx
