Itunes crashes whenever I try to do anything...
Adding folders, deleting songs, rating music, whenever an album finishes, my itunes continually crashes. It's been doing this for the past few software updates, so I don't know what is going on. I've tried doing a total uninstall and that didn't work either. Anyone have any advice? I'm just about ready to trash this piece of junk program and get a music player that won't crash every fifteen minutes...
Negatory. I've done that: no help.
After consulting with a support guy on the phone, we finally made some progress by moving one of my library files. When I started iTunes back up, all of my podcasts were gone...but iTunes worked. That is, at least until I started trying to resubscribe and redownload podcasts. If I try subscribing to a podcast, I have a 75% chance of it crashing iTunes; I can check this by trying to go into my Podcast tab as it's downloading. If I can click on all my podcasts and look at them while a new one is downloading, then the new one is fine and safe; if it freezes and crashes, then I know not to try to download that podcast again. And yes, it seems to be specific podcasts that cause it. This is really annoying.

ITunes crashes whenever I try to access the store?
I have Windows 7 and the latest version of iTunes. Upon startup, iTunes prompts me to sign in twice, and closing the first prompt will only have the second one brought up seconds later. Signing in has the same effect. This is annoying, but not the important part.
The important part is that whenever I try to access to iTunes Store, signed in or not, iTunes crashes.
These are the Problem Details from my Control Panel's Action Center.

ITunes crashes whenever I try to sync videos
Hey everyone,
Just yesterday I purchased a new 6th Gen iPod Classic, and syncing music is fine, but when it comes to syncing videos it's a totally different story.
I sync my iPod (which has all the music on) and there are no more songs to go on it, so I decide to put on some videos. However, when I try to sync the iPod again, intending for videos to go on, iTunes crashes and asks me to send an error report. I've tried this about a million times now, and have tried resetting my iPod, all with no luck.
Has anyone else had this problem and know how to make the videos sync without me having to pull out more hair from my head?!You should try an alternative iPod manager such as these http://www.copytrans.net/helpcopytrans.php#22

ITunes Crashes Whenever I try to edit movie info
Hi -
In preparation for a long plane trip, I decided to legally rip some of the DVDs that I own and import them as M4V's into iTunes for syncing to my iPhone, or just watching on my MacBook. However, after importing a movie, I would like to edit the info in order to make syncing more streamlined. Whenever I go into iTunes, click on the Movies field on the left side, it stops and crashes suddenly. I can see the imported movie, but I can't seem to click in the movies without it crashing. Any idea what may be causing this?
JeremyCould be a whole bunch of things, but it's hard to tell since we don't know anything of how you produced the movie files. iTunes is very finicky about the movie formats it can use since it is largely intended to be used with home produced movies or iTunes Store produced media.
By the way, if it is a commercial movie there is no way to legally rip the DVDs. You don't "own" a movie if all you have is a copy on a DVD. Then you own a piece of plastic and the rights to view the movie on the original DVD on which it is supplied. Just ripping the movie to a format that gets it onto your computer is illegal in most countries, even for backup purposes. Restrictions courtesy of powerful media companies. -
Like I said in the title, everytime I try to access the iTunes Store a pop-up shows up, saying "iTunes has stopped working". Then there are two options underneath:
-> Check online for a solution and close the program
-> Close the program
If I then view the problem details, it gives me this:

I am on a Windows 7 Gateway laptop with Intel Premium. This problem started a couple days ago, just after I finally gave in to go from my version 10 iTunes to the "new and improved" version 11 iTunes. The version 10 worked like a dream, no worries, very quick. Now, all I can do is use my iTunes library. If I just wanted a library I would be using Windows Media Player (jk, iTunes is better). Anyway, my point is, right after installing the new version of iTunes, this problem began. I've looked all through the Apple Support Pages, and tried a couple of things recommended, but nothing's worked so far. If anyone has a clue on what I can do, help would be very much appreciated. Also, if your suggestions don't involve downloading anything, that would be wonderful. Nevertheless, if they do, that's still okay. I'm desperate at this point, so any help would be greatly appreciated.Nevermind, I fixed the problem. I logged on as an administrator and deleted iTunes files. I then redownloaded the file as an administrator and the Store is working smoothly again!

Itunes crashes whenever I try and open the store
Hello, and this is my first post. For a day or so now I cant get into the itunes store, and when I try to it crashes and I get a report generated that starts like this:
Date/Time: 2007-06-10 19:57:11.850 -0400
OS Version: 10.4.9 (Build 8P135)
Report Version: 4

Version: 7.2 (7.2)
Build Version: 3

Every other aspect of the program works and I can still buy music from my shopping cart. I have tried reloading the program, I verified the HD, fixed the keychain, did a virus scan using Intego, started a new account and tried opening it thorugh there all with the same result. The rest of my computer programs work. If anyone has any ideas I would be most appreciative, thanks, Marc
Powerbook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.9)Well, now we know it's something likely system-wide. Try a few things:
1.) Completely disable your anti-virus software. Maybe even experiment with uninstalling it temporarily.
2.) If you are connected to the internet via a router, disconnect it and connect directly via your broadband modem.
3.) Disable any firewall software.
4.) Disable any web accelerator software. -
Ever since I upgraded to Lion 10.7.4, I've been having a headache-of-a-time with applications unexpectedly quitting (especially Apple apps like Pages & Numbers and iTunes). Every time i try to delete a (duplicate) song (by any method, whether it's control-click, edit menu-delete, or command-delete, etc.) I get the spinning beach ball and then an expectedly quit "do you want to re-open?" window. Can anyone offer detailed advice how to downgrade iTunes to a pre-10.6 version? (where to find and download/install?), or is the problem probably OS-related, and I just have to wait it out until 10.8 becomes available?
Yes, the list on my computer of what is in my iPod library is grey, not black font. I tried "manual" but it will not allow me to drag anything to the iPod. Not even newly purchased music.
That certainly sounds like one of the Automatic syncing options has been engaged.
... quickly doublechecking, just in case. After selecting "Manually manage ..." in the device tab for the iPod in iTunes, did you click "Apply"? -
I have already tried uninstalling and re-installing.
Windows 7 Enterprise on a PC Dell 64-bit. It's Premiere Pro Creative Cloud and it is up to date. When I first installed Premiere Pro CC months ago, I had this same issue - couldn't do anything, the program would crash immediately. I was on the phone with Adobe IT for 6 hours before it started working. No clue what the guy did to make it work. He did say sometimes the program will continue to run in the background so I should go to Processes under the Task Manager and if I see it running to close it. That fixed the problem for awhile. Then I didn't use the program again for a couple months. Now when I try to use it, it crashes, same problem as originally, only this time, it is not running in the background.
Any ideas to help me avoid a 6 hour trouble-shooting session would be great. Thanks! -
Why does my iTunes crash whenever I try to refresh my podcasts?
Whenever I press the "Refresh" button on my podcasts, I get the error message "iTunes has stopped working." No particular reason why or error code, it simply "stops working."
Hello loosekiwi,
Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.

Crashes whenever I try to attach anything to an email
I can send and receive emails, but if I attempt to attach anything to an email, it locks up Firefox completely as soon as I click on the ATTACH button. I can only get out of it if I repeatedly click on the X in the upper right corner and repeatedly click on the END NOW button. Sometimes it takes several times to get it done.
I did not have this problem before your last few updates, but it happened on my desktop and now on this laptop. I am using Windows XP on both.I'm aware that you supplied a crash stats link above however I must ask you do the following and provide all crash IDs so I may better serve you.
We're sorry to hear that your Firefox seems to be crashing when you open it. Please perform the following steps to give us a crash report ID that helps us find out more about the cause of the crash.
#Press the following shortcut to get a Run window: [Windows] + [R]. This should bring up a window that contains a text field.
#In that text field, enter %APPDATA% and press Enter. An explorer window should open.
#From that explorer window, double-click on the ''Mozilla'' folder, then double-click on ''Firefox'' and then on ''Crash reports''. Double-click on ''submitted''.
#Now, you should see a list of files that contain reports. Go to ''View'' > ''Arrange Icons by'' > ''Modified'' to get the most recent files at the top of the window.
#Open the most recent 5 files with a text editor and copy the IDs.
#Paste each ID with '''bp-''' into the reply window on the forums.
Thanks in advance!
You can find more information and troubleshooting steps in the [[Firefox crashes]] article. -
After upgrade to 11.3.1.2, my itune crash whenever I try to download podcast. I am now in Win 7, the itune and those podcasts has been here for a long time. (not newly add)
I think I have found a "fix" to the problem on Win7.
My problem was : When I refresh my podcast in Itunes 11.3.1.2 on Windows 7, Itunes crashed.
I try many different things in order to "fix" the crash, but I think the key thing is renaming or deleting this folder
C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
to something else like
C:\Users\<User>\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunesBak
From what I observe this affected how Itunes's UI was displayed and not much else, but I would strongly suggest to backup your stuff before doing this.
Others steps I did thay may have helped address the issue is uninstalling Itunes and reinstalling it. Renaming the Itunes folder in the music folder
ex: C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunes to C:\Users\<User>\Music\iTunesBak
and then copying
iTunes Library.itl
iTunes Music Library.xml
from the "ItunesBak" folder to the "Itunes" folder. NOTE!! All my mp3 files are in a specific folder on my drivem if you are using the default settings don't forget to copy your media library.
Good luck!
