Itunes disappeared from my pc and now I can't install it again - Windows 7
I have been using itunes with no problem till now. I have a pc with Windows 7. I plugged my iphone in and itunes wouldn't open as I expected it to. When I went to open it via the shortcut the message told me that there was nothing at that location should it delete it? I had a look and itunes was still in the program list but when I tried to open it the same message about nothing being at that location came up. I uninstalled itunes and then downloaded it from the apple website and it appeared to work and said it had installed correctly. The shortcut is there and it is in the program list but when i try and open it nothing happens. I have tried repairing it and repairing the apple update file but nothing has worked. I have tried creating a new user account are redownloading it there but again nothing happens. Please please please help. I am not particularly computer savy and don't know what else to do. Thanks for your time x
Cancel that... I uninstalled Quicktime and it started working. Will cross the reinstalling of quicktime down the track I suppose... thanks again

Firefox start page disappeared from bookmark list and now I can't put it back. Whats going on?
HP win 7 machine. Use firefox to open Charter email: no problem. Recently, my gmail acct (which I use infrequently) has appeared as my default , which I do not prefer, but cannot seem to change. While on the Charter email page, today, I tried to access Forefox start from my bookmark menu. It disappeared from the bookmark list. Got to the start page through a different route, but it would not bookmark at all.
Make sure that you do not run Firefox in full screen mode (press F11 or Fn + F11 to toggle; Mac: command+Shift+F).

Open the Mac App Store on the other Mac and in the Quick Links sign into your account. See if the Mountain Lion purchase is among hidden apps in the iCloud area of your account info.

Yes. Reinstall iTunes. If that is the point at which you stopped trying the support suggestions then it makes sense to me, that you move on to the next suggestion and if reinstalling iTunes is the next suggestion, so be it.
However .... I too have issues that arise out of the blue with my iPad being recognized in iTunes and what I always do and it eventually works is to quit iTunes, restart my MacBook, and reboot my iPad.
Rebooting the iPad is the last thing that I do and only if I have no success with quitting iTunes and restarting the Mac. It may take a few tries to work, but if you are that dead set against reinstalling iTunes, then give it a try. -
I just updated iTunes to the latest version and now I can't play more than half of my songs. When I click on a song it comes back and states that it can't find it and prompts me to try and locate it. I don't know where to look. Help!!!!

Similar problem here. iTunes11 notified me it was available. However, auto-update failed. So, I downloaded for manual update. That failed with "permission" message. I am administrator on this machine (WIN7). I tried uninstalling old version, but it failed with same permission issue. I now can't start iTunes... throws permission message. So, I'm completely dead in the water. Does this stuff get tested before it's shipped?

Should be in the Applications folder as "App Store", not as "Mac App Store".
Check first in the Applications folder accessible via that named item in the Dock (also accessible at (hard drive) > Applications).
If it's not there, it may be in the Applications folder for your user: (hard drive) > Users > youraccountname > Applications. -

I manually deleted back-ups from Time Machine and now I can't empty the trash.
Using Finder (deleting Time Machine backups) to manage Time Machine files is a mistake. The remedy is somewhat easy, but you will lose all the files on that TM drive.
If there is nothing elese on the Time Machine drive, try reformatting the drive with Disk Utility. This will effectively remove the files from that drive from the trash. If you have files on this drive, temporarily copy the files to another drive, then reformat the TM drive. -

If you are using Safari, empty the Safari cache.
With Safari open, press Command + Option + E on your keyboard.

Go into the control panel, add/remove programs. Uninstall iTUnes, Apple mobile device service, apple application support. Then redownload and reinstall iTunes.
There seems to be a glitch with the update where it doesn't seem to get everything updated so you need to get rid of it all and start fresh. This is just the programs, it won't affect your data. (as in when I did it it didn't touch my iTunes library) -

Were these apps purchased from the Mac App Store? If so, open the Mac App Store (should be in the Doc).
Then go to the Purchases tab and install from there. You may need to click the Buy button, but once you do, it should remember that you have already paid.
If these apps were installed from a retail copy of iLife, you can reinstall from the DVD.
