Hello All,
When I try to install Itunes 9.2 on my XP 32bit machine, I get the error message "Itunes does not pass windows logo testing to verify CD/DVD rom drives this software will not be installed. Contact your administrator" I am the owner & my account has administrator rights. When I start itunes i get the message "Itunes was not properly installed if you wish to burn Cds you will need to reinstall itunes" Any ideas what i should do anyone?

That sounds like the GEAR drivers that iTunes uses for burning and importing aren't going in properly. (or there's damaged GEAR drivers for an old install stuck on the PC.
Perhaps manually uninstalling and reinstalling the GEAR drivers can get you past this. There's instructions for that on the GEAR wiki:

Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Printer Drivers does not pass windows logo testing.

Issue:
I'am using the Acrobat Wizard tool to customize Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro to run create Adobe installed to run siliently within our network but I recieve the following hardware prompt to complete the install.
During the install of the Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro I recieve a Hardware Installation prompt:
The software you are installing for this hardware:
Printer
Has not passed Windows Logo testing to verfiy its compatibility with Windows XP.
Continue your installation of this software may impair or destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing.
Is there any way I can download the drivers before I run the installation or is there a patch for Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.

Acrobat Pro 9 has not passed Windows Logo testing??

Bought download of Acrobat Pro 9 today. Installation on Windows XP Pro seemed to proceed well. The a pop-up window said The sortware you are installing for this hardware Printers has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatability with Windows XP. then a link to "why this is important" and further warning "Continuing your installation of this software may impari ro destabilize the correct operation of your system either immediately or in the future. Microsoft strongly recommends that you stop this installation now and contact the hardware vendor for software that has passed Windows Logo testing."
Choices are Continue Anyway or STOP Installation
What does this mean? What do I do to get this upgrade installed and functioning correctly?

My sister just bought a new 30G Ipod. During the installation a window popped up saying
"The software you are installing has not passed Windows Logo testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP"
However my dad also has a 30GB Ipod that he's had for a few months now and its working just fine. So I guess my question is
(1)Is there a difference in the systems or something that the new one isn't compatible?
(2)Is there anyway to perhaps have it tested somehow by the computer or some other solution to get past this?
(I myself don't know much about Ipods or Apple products so I apologize if this is a doofy question!)

"Not passed Windows logo testing" message

I just download iTunes 8 and partway through the install got a message that said "software has not passed Windows Logo Testing" and that this could compromise my system.
The older version of iTunes worked just fine, is there anywhere I can download the older version?

Just to establish a good base line I am going to have you uninstall and reinstall the printer from our website rather than the CD-ROM that came with the machine.
First if you use a USB cord, make sure to remove it. Do not plug it back in until the software directs you to. Then go through the Devices and Printers, Programs and Features and Device Manager folders and insure that all copies, files, and programs related to the printer are removed. Then as directed, restart the computer.
In the START menu type "%temp%" and press ENTER. Here I want you to press Ctrl+A and hit DELETE. Some of the files will not allow you to delete them, skip those files and delete the majority that allows it.

Software CD has not passed Windows Logo testing???

This is what it showed when I was installing the softwares from the CD which came with my N73 music edition... "...has not passed Windows Logo testing"
I still clicked on "continue anyway" tab and went ahead... But now the data cable doesn't connect to the softwares. For transferring music, I clicked on media player option and it said messaging is using my memory card, so first change settings in messaging. On clicking Nokia PC suite option, it keeps on detecting the device but nothing happens...
My PC has Windows XP only, the CD's cover shows its compatibility with XP... what can be the problem then??

you can generally ignore the error message if you are using trusted software ie from nokia etc as it just means your operating system is unable to verify its authentisity (sp) but for transfering data your better to select data transfer when connecting the usb and then dragging and dropping the files into the handset.
go to my computer then open the icon called removable disk, there will be a folder called music or something similar -this is your phones mass memory, drop the songs into here.

Pop Up: The software you are installing for this hardware has not passed Windows Logo testing - AntiVirus

When deploying Endpoint Protection with SCCM 2012, some workstations are getting a popup saying:
The software you are installing for this hardware has not passed Windows Logo
testing and it references "Antivirus". Upon clicking continue anyway it finished installing.
I'm not able to duplicate it on command and not sure why it's happening. Anyone else see this or have ideas on how to troubleshoot?

Without a real screenshot (and maybe even being there), it's hard to say. IME this is not normal behavior and my first thought is that this is actually some malware causing this.

Itunes 7.6 update not passing windows logo testing for compatibility

I have tried to update itunes 3 times. It downloads fine but when it gets to the installation part, I get a warning from windows saying that this software has not passed the windows logo test for compatibility and that if I proceed with the installaton, The system may get impaired. So I stop installation, but eventually I have to update itunes. My ipod gets updated but itunes is not. Lately I've been having problems with my ipod acting buggy. Is this familiar to anyone? Why is this happening and what do I need to do? Thanks!

On an XP system, that can indicate trouble with the Windows OS dlls associated with Cryptographic services.

I purchased my son a 80GB Classic for christmas and it has been great. Then out of the blue when he hooked it up to his computer two weeks ago to purchase new music the computer would not recognize it. I have tried the five R's as recommended and updated all his programs as suggested. Any advice would be Greatly appreciated. Need software that has passed windows logo testing

can not install the wireless Officejet 6500. The 6500 is installed on the network. Message while do installation is "windows logo testing failed to verify compatibilty with windows XP" installation will not go beyond this point. The odd part of this is that I had it installed at one time and then the installtion failed.
I have tried your XP solutions and here is the message I received "an error ocurred during installation. The driver can not be installed because it is either not digitally signed or not signed in an approtriate manner"
Where do I go from here?

NOTE:You might receive more than one prompt about the software not passing Windows logo testing. Click Continue Anyway each time you receive the prompt.
Windows logo testing is part of Microsoft's WHQL (Windows Hardware Quality Lab) program, which helps customers identify products that are compatible with the Windows operating system. WHQL certification is not related to product functionality. You can still install and use the HP printer and software without the WHQL certification.
2. Follow the on-screen instructions until you get to the Found New Hardware Wizard screen. This screen might include a list of products and prompt you to Please select the best match for your hardware from the list below . Leave the selection at the default, and then click Next .
3. Continue following the on-screen instructions to complete the HP software installation.

Drivers do not pass windows compatibility testing

MSI K7N2G Motherboard
Athlon 2400 xp
Seagate 80 GB SATA Hard Drive
I am building a new computer and whenever I reinstall Windows or am installing windows xp for the first time, I get warnings that the drivers do not pass windows logo compatibility testing. This happens for the Promise SATA drivers that I had to install to install windows xp in addition to pretty much all of the nforce2 and nvidia drivers. Are these drivers okay and just aren't recognized by windows or are there problems? Thanks

It just means you have drivers that the Microsoft Techs have not finished playing with. When it comes to nVidia Drivers, I would not worry if they have not been approved by MS yet. nVidia has one of the Driver Coders on the market.

That means your screen is completely black and you can see nothing? Thats strange but you can try this workaround:
-Try removing the battery and the AC adaptor
-Wait at least one hour or one night (no battery and AC adaptor should be connected)
-Connect battery and AC adaptor again
-Try to start the notebook as usual
If the same problem occurs you should contact an authorized service provider. It seems to be a hardware problem :(

ITunes does not release windows drive allocation

I have just installed iTunes version 10.7.0.21 after which I did a restore of my iPod Shuffle 4 (software version 1.0.1). After the restore iTunes no longer releases the Windows drive letter allocation. As a consequence of this the Shuffle’s light continuously blinks amber indicating the device is being accessed. Therefore it is not possible to determine when the battery has been fully recharged. Prior to doing this update iTunes would release the drive letter allocation after the sync was complete so that the light was either steady amber of green after charging was complete.
Is there some setting that I have messed up or is this a defect in the software?

I've seen other post about this issue. Im not sure of any one fix but I can offer afew steps to try and fix it.
Scan the system with your antivirus program. Next Scan for malware ( A general term for adware and spyware ) with your perssonal malware scanner or Ewido http://www.ewido.com Id also recommend scanning with windows chkdisk. TO access this in Windows XP goto "My Computer, rightclick the drive windows is on (Usually C Drive) hit properties>Tools tab. Under "Error Checking" hit check now. on the pop up check "Auto fix system file errors" and hit OK. You will get another pop up just hit "yEs" and restart the PC to start it.

You can also try uninstalling iTUnes AND quicktime by going to control panel>add and remove. Uninstalling WILL NOT loose any music or playlist. After your done disable antivirus and security programs, goto apple.com and download/install iTUnes again
