Itunes error 7 Unable to install new version of Itunes on Windows 7

I am stumped. Have tried to install the latest iTunes download on my PC (Windows7), have tried everything to get it to work. Uninstalled all Apple programs, disabled my anti-virus... so frustrating! Have been trying for a few hours and do not know what to do.
It looks like there is an error with the iTunesHelper

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If the advice above doesn't resolve things you could try this alternate version:
iTunes 12.1.0.71 for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) - itunes64setup.exe (2015-01-28)
Or roll back to the previous build:
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (32-bit) - iTunesSetup.exe (2014-10-16)
iTunes 12.0.1.26 for Windows (64-bit) - iTunes64Setup.exe (2014-10-16)

  • Unable to install new version of itunes

I am unable to install the new version of itunes. When I download the new version w/ QuickTime, part of the way through the installation I get an error, the installation was interrupted, please reinstall later, click finish to exit. When I look into my programs, QuickTime has been installed, but no itunes. This problem is new today as a couple days ago I was able to install it, but every time I did, my DVD/CD Drive would disappear. I have had to run several system restores. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Download windows cleanup utility from microsoft website and uninstall itunes + quicktime. Then go to apple.com/quicktime/download and download quicktime with itunes save it on your desktop then run it. It should help

  • Unable to Install New version of iTunes due to Bonjour.

Okay, I was trying to install the new version of iTunes for my ipod nano w/camera i just bought. While i was downloading, i had to download a newer version of Bonjour. When i tried to it said " Older version of Bonjour cannot be removed." I have heard that some people have had the same problem. How do i fix this?
P.S. I tried the Windows Installer thing, and it said something like 'Access denied' and i was unable to download it.

By the way, i know someone already started a thread on something like this. But it has not worked for me.

  • Unable To Install New Version of iTunes (iTunes.msi problem?)

fyi, i also have an iPhone
    error message:
the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.
Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package iTunes.msi in the box below
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Application Data\Apple\Apple Software Update\
This is as far as I can go in the installation of iTunes, so I am also unable to get the new iPhone firmware update.

When you get this network resource message, you usually need to do an installer file clean up.
Here is a method for removal of iTunes with installer clean up:
    == uninstall with cleanup ==
Download a fresh copy of iTunes and the stand alone version of Quicktime
    http://www.apple.com/quicktime/download/win.html
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install Microsoft Installer cleanup utility, there are instructions on the page as well as the download. Note that what you download is the installer not the program – you have to run it to install the program
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301/
Now use the following method to remove iTunes and its components:
    XP
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1925
    Vista
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
If you hit a problem with one of the uninstalls don't worry, carry on with the deleting of files and folders as directed in the method.
When you get to deleting Quicktime files in the system32 folder as advised in the method, you can delete and file or folder called Quicktime.
    Restart your PC.
Run the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Utility. (Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up)
Remove any references you find to the programs you removed - strictly speaking you only need to worry about those programs where the uninstall failed.
    restart your PC
Install the stand alone Quicktime and check that it works.
    If it does, install iTunes.

    Did it work?

  • Can't install new version of itunes or quicktime

Like others, I get the error message Apple Application Support needed to run itunes Helper. Uninstall itunes then instal again. I have repeatedly tried to instal new version of itunes having uninstalled (following troubleshooting page) the old version. I also get the Microsoft windows message Windows installer stopped working and was closed. When I try to install Quick Time on its own I get the message "An error occurred during the installation of assembly Microsoft VC.80,CRT.... What can I do?

In general, these ones tend to be caused by underlying problems on the PC that can prevent Windows Updates from installing. So my main strategy with them is to try to fix the Windows Update issues. If we can get Windows Updates flowing again, that generally clears up the iTunes install errors +en passant.+
Head into your Windows Update, and check for any new updates. Do any fail? If so, open your Update History and doubleclick on the failure entries to bring up a small box with alphanumeric error message codes. Are you getting 8000FFFFs? (They often seem to be associated with an iTunes-install 0x800736FD.)
If you're getting 8000FFFFs, try the following Microsoft document:
    [Windows Update Error 8000FFFF|http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/Windows-Update-Error- 8000FFFF]
Head back to Windows Update, and stock up on any updates you're behind on. Once you're completely up to date in that regard, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

So, in iTunes, when you look at the shuffle's content (in the sidebar) and click on the playlist under the shuffle, over to the right, the songs are in your desired order, correct?  Where do you look, or what do you do, that indicates the playlists are in alphabetical order?  Are you saying that when you play the songs while using the shuffle, they play in alphabetical order?
If so, when you listen to the songs on the shuffle, are you using the playlist, or are you using the All Songs list? If you are in the default All Songs list, with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order (the middle position), the songs play alphabetically, I believe.
The 3rd gen shuffle uses VoiceOver.  If you are in the All Songs list, you need to use VoiceOver to switch to the playlist (see manual linked below for details).  When you are in the playlist (with the shuffle's power switch set to play-in-order), then the songs should play in playlist order.
There are more details in the manual for the 3rd gen shuffle, which is online here
    http://manuals.info.apple.com/en_US/iPod_shuffle_3rdGen_UG.pdf
See page 22 for the section about setting up and using VoiceOver.  The part about switching playlists starts on page 23 (Using the Playlist Menu).

  • Error message -50 ever since I installed new version of iTunes... weird!

A few days ago I installed the new/updated version of iTunes from the 'automatic prompt' which informed me there was a newer version of the software available.
Now, ever since I've been using iTunes upon start-up I get this weird thing happening:
    1- ITunes opens, no problem
2- Progress bar appears on screen saying "Updating iTunes library" (which never happened before I installed the new version on iTunes)
3- An Error message appears saying "the iTunes Library files cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (-50). Do not warn me again"
Well, my iPod seems to be sync-ing fine and I've not lost any music, so I'm confused as to what this error message actually means.
If anyone can shed any light on this or what I've done wrong I would be most grateful.
I don't fancy losing all my podcasts and music! Ouch...
    Thanks!

I would check macfixit.com . there are several articles about fixing the -50 error. The latest article is free, the others require a subscription. This is from their very helpful site:
Another option for recreating the library to resolve -50 errors We previously reported that a full library deletion and restore may be required to eliminate -50 errors that occur while iTunes 7.3 is launching. The process we mentioned involves backing up the music library to another location, then deleting the original library and finally re-importing. However, you can also simply backup then create a new library at launch and re-import, as follows:
    1. Quit iTunes
    2. Backup your iTunes library (the folder ~/Music/iTunes) to a separate location (can be on the same volume)
    3. Launch iTunes while holding down the option key and follow the steps to create a new library
    4. In iTunes, choose Import from the FIle menu
    5. Select the backed up ~/Music/iTunes as a source folder
    6. Restore any deleted preferences

    Hey Debbiered1,
Follow the steps in this link to resolve the issue:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
When you uninstall, the items you uninstall and the order in which you do so are particularly important:
Use the Control Panel to uninstall iTunes and related software components in the following order and then restart your computer:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
    Apple Mobile Device Support
    Bonjour
Apple Application Support (iTunes 9 or later)
Important: Uninstalling these components in a different order, or only uninstalling some of these components may have unintended affects.
Let us know if following that article and uninstalling those components in that order helped the situation.

  • Error Installing new versions of iTunes

Whenever I attempt to install a newer version of iTunes (7.2 and higher) I get an error message, "C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resouces\fi.lproj\iPodSettings.nib\classes.nib Verify that you have access to that directory."
I don't know what it means or how to fix it. Any help would be much appreciated.

"C:\ProgramFiles\iTunes\iTunes.Resouces\fi.lproj\iPodSettings.nib\classes.nib Verify that you have access to that directory."
A message like that citing a file in the lproj folders (language resources ... you're having trouble with one of the Finnish ones, i believe), can often be caused by file damage or disk damage in the area of the file in question.
So, try running a chddsk over your C drive:

Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? if so, does an itunes install go through properly afterwards?
