  • My iTunes won't open on Windows XP. iTunes.exe - Entry point not found, Error 7 (Windows Error 127)

When I open iTunes, I get a message saying under iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not Found, it says, The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll. And I'm not talking about the AppleSyncNotifier.exe. Along with that, I get the message saying, "iTunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall i Tunes." Error 7 (Windows Error 127). That's why I'm unable to open iTunes. I sure hope to see a solution to those problems soon.
I know I've mentioned this before, but I've now given a little more info to make my explanation more clear.

  • ITunes Helper.exe - Entry point not found error after upgrade

I just tried to install the latest iTunes software for Windows on two separate PCs running XP Pro SP3 and get the same error on both PCs at every windows startup: iTunes Helper.exe - Entry point not found. The procedure entry point sqlite3preparev2 could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll. Is this a known issue with a fix?

Hmmm. Roy B has some advice on that one in the following post:

  • Dotmacsyncclient.exe - Entry Point Not Found error after updating iTunes

    Here is the error message:
The entry point SQLite3filecontrol could not be found in the library SQLite3.dll
Following the last update of iTunes on my PC (running Windows 7 x64), I'm getting the same error message again and again. It's not specific to an action that I perform, It is not appearing at regular intervals.
I could not find any solution on these boards yet. Here is the few things I have already tried to fix the issue :
    - Download SQLite3.dll and copy it into C:\Windows\System32
    Didn't fix anything
    - Copy that dll file from the iTunes folder location like by entering the following command into a command prompt :
    xcopy "%ProgramFiles%\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support\sqlite3.dll" %windir%\system32 /y
    Didn't fix anything
I have not tried to reinstall iTunes because I think that I've read some people saying that it did not helped.
Last info, I am using MobileMe. Don't know if it is related.
Anyway It would be nice if someone could throw some ideas on this thread.
    Thanks

Since Apple apparently doesn't know what a Windows-based PC IS, I'll throw you folks a bone...
If you're getting the error with SQLite3.dll, do a search for the file... grab the one out of the Common Files folders and put it into C:\Windows\SysWoW64\ folder.
    Reboot and voila.
I just did that on this machine and the issue hasn't reappeared. Can't guarantee it'll work for you, but it appears to have for me.

  • Itunes.exe Entry Point Not Found - Error 7

Need help regarding error messages as stated in post title.
ITunes working completely fine up until a few days ago when I clicked on my Itunes icon and got the message:
The procedure entry point kCMByteStreamNotification_AvailableLengthChanges could not be located in the dynamic link library CoreMedia.dll
After clicking OK on this, the 'Itunes was not installed correctly. Please reinstall Itunes. Error 7 (Windows error 127)' message appeared.
I then reinstalled Itunes like it said, and despite saying that my itunes was now updated, I am still getting these error messages and am unable to go onto itunes. As i'm sure everyone can appreciate, I don't want to unistall itunes and quicktime etc, as I have a ton of songs on there that would take forever to download again. If there is nothing else I can do to solve this problem, obviously i'll need to attempt it.
Anyone with any other suggestions on fixing this problem?
    Thanks!

After installing the current version of iTunes, I get an AppleSyncNotifier.exe - Entry Point Not Found error. It says "The procedure entry point sqlite3_wal_checkpoint could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll." Kindly advice a process to get rid of this error, without losing my files on the iTunes.

Hi, I get the same error EVERY time iTunes updates.
I have to do the fix that is suggested in this topic (cut and paste the sqlite3.dll)
    My Question:
Since this happens every time iTunes updates...... Do I have to remove SQlite3.dll from the "apple application support" folder....... so that the sqlite3.dll is only located in the "mobile device support" folder?????
It is getting really annoying to have to do the "cut and paste" fix every time iTunes updates.
    Thank You,

Taken at face value, you're having trouble with an Apple Application Support program file there. (Apple Application Support is where single copies of program files used by multiple different Apple programs are kept.)
Let's try something relatively simple first. Restart the PC. If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "Apple Application Support" and then click "Repair". If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "Apple Application Support", click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If no joy after that, try the more rigorous uninstall/reinstall procedure from the following post. (If you've got XP, although the procedure is for Vista and 7, just read "Computer" as "My Computer", read "Uninstall a program control panel" as "Add or Remove programs control panel" and assume the system is 32-bit, and you'll be doing the right things.)

hello, can somebody please help me...
Everytime i open iTunes it comes up with this error message:
The procedure entry point VTSelectAndCreateVideoDecoderInstance could not be located in the dynamics link libary VideoTookbox.dll.
I've tried uninstalling, reinstalling, and deleting all iTunes and Quickime files and programs but it still wont work...
    Please help me, Thanks!

So I followed the instructions and downloaded the newest version of iTunes like it told me, but after I did that, When I would attempt to get on iTunes an iTunes.exe - Entry Point Not found messege would come up. And it says The procedure entry point sqlite3preparev2 could not be located in the dynamic link library SQLite3.dll.
That's a different one, smyth. At the moment, you could try basiam's workaround from the following post:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=10444196#10444196
... however, this could possibly cause trouble in its own right next time you upgrade iTunes, given that there will be a misplaced, older SQLite3.dll in system32 ... So be sure to remember you've got that dll down there, and if you get an odd message about SQLite3.dll when you try launching iTunes *after your next iTunes upgrade,* delete the old copy of the dll in system32 and see if you get a normal launch without it there.

I've tried uninstalling iTunes then reisntalling, uninstalling Quicktime, rebooted and I still get the same problem. I also moved QTCF.dll into iTunes. Still get the same error. I also tried a system restore, and I STILL get the same error.
I tried removing everything and turing off my antivirus and I still get this message and my iTunes does not work. Also when the message comes on it will not go away until I re-start my system. Any help out there on this???
    Thanks.
