ITunes freezes when opeining if connected to the internet
I have a problem that started this weekend. If I am connected to the internet, my iTunes freezes when I open it. It just gets stuck with the spinning beach ball. Any idea what might be causing this? I'd guess its something to do with syncing to icloud, but i tried disabling the auto download music & apps in preferences, and that didn't help
I am totally stuck on the same issue and have been for almost a year. Auto downloads and genius are disabled. I'm using a iMac and have upgraded to Lion OS 10.7.3. Being on an iMac means I can't uninstall iTunes but I am now on iTunes 10.6.1 (7). Think that's the latest.
If I disconnect from the internet I can use iTunes no problems but that kind of defeats the purpose of the store and I liked being able to control iTunes from my iPhone!
I've restarted literally tens of times.
Anyone that can help? should i raise another thread?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Console in the icon grid.
The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select
SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages
from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select
View ▹ Show Log List
from the menu bar at the top of the screen.
Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then try the action that you're having trouble with again. Select any messages that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.
☞ The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.
Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.
Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.
☞ Some private information, such as your name, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting. -
why does it say itunes can not contact the ipod update server because you are not connected to the internet when i am connected to the internet? i need to update my ipod i even changed the LAN settings and it stilll doesnt work

I can only listen to music in iTunes when i'm connected to the internet. Everything seems to have uploaded onto iCloud - something I didn't sign up for. Happened with the latest iTunes update.
All of the music is still on my computer, but when I play it through iTunes, it either buffers first (when I'm connected to the internet) or it is greyed out (offline) and I can't listen to it.
This is beyond annoying. Is there anything I can do to sort this out?

Hi, I have recently brought some tv programmes from itunes on my ipod touch. I can only watch them when i'm connected to the internet though. Any way i can move them to my music folder too? Thanks
That means it is not fully downloaded so you are streaming it. Fully download it.

I downloaded 10.5 and Itunes says I'm not connected to the internet. I am connected and the diagnostics inside Itunes even says I'm connected.
That was the first thing I tried..what the site told me, but its still telling me I'm not connected to the internet when I am. Should I just delete everything by hand. Like I said I wanted to take it back and upgrade to the 80 gig ipod.

On my new MacBook Pro when I am connected to the internet via an Ethernet cable, Facebook pictures do not load. They show up as white boxes with blue question marks. This also happens on a website editor. But, when I am connected to the internet via Wifi, everything load properly. MacBook Air intermittently has issues connecting to websites when wireless shows connected to the internet. The pages show that I am offline, but I can ping Google DNS. Windows PC, iPhone and Android phone have no issue displaying the same web pages.How do I solve this issue?
Go step by step and test.
1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
Restart the computer.

2. Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
3. Deselect Proxies if selected.
System Preference > Network > Advanced > Proxies Tab
Under "Select Protocol", uncheck any box if selected.
Click "OK" then "Apply”. -

Apple (and no one else) can not assist (with serial number or iCloud) in finding a lost or stolen iPad.
Report to police along with serial number. Change all your passwords.

Widget Browser is gone. Adobe pulled the plug on it quite a while ago.
