Itunes installer package won't Download

I've tried to download iTunes 10.7 via Firefox and Explorer, I click on the download button and nothing, no box appears to confirm download of the installer. How do I fix this? I can download other files using firefox with no issues.

Perhaps try downloading and saving a copy of the installer to a different PC. (If you're on a 32-bit Windows system, try to download on a different 32-bit Windows system.) Copy the iTunesSetup.exe installer to an external hard-drive, or a large-enough thumb drive or burn it to a CD-R. Carry the installer back to your PC, copy the installer to your hard drive. (Don't run the install from the ExHD, thumb or CD-R.) Start the install by doubleclicking the iTunesSetup.exe file.

That typically indicates that the installer is getting damaged during the download, linda.
What browser did you use to download the installer? If you were using IE, can you get a working installer if you use Firefox instead (or vice versa)?

Have you tried a shift key start.
Hold down the shift key and start iTunes. Keep holding the shift key until you are asked to choose a library. Navigate to you iTunes folder and choose iTunes Library.itl.
If you still can't open Itunes by doing this, check that your account has full control of your itunes folder:

  • Problem with Windows Installer Package.. during download of itunes... HELP!

I recently got an ipod touch for school, and we're using a computer with windows XP. we had itunes, but my brother didn't think we needed it so we deleted it. Now trying to install itunes 8, we're getting this message:
"There's a problem with this Windows Installer Package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor."
There is absolutely no itunes files on the computer, though there's a version of quicktime that it won't let us delete, saying it can't be found, but it appears on the add/delete programs page.
Please help! I need to sync my itouch, but can't so I can't use half of the things on it! Thanks!

Go to 'Apple Software Update' in Add or Remove Programs icon in your Control Panel. Select Change, then Repair. Then rerun the iTunes installation.

  • ITunes installer package not opening up on Windows XP.

I have Windows XP Pro, and an iPhone 3G. I've tried downloading iTunes a countless number of times. But before the installer opens up, the following message comes up.
'This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, and make sure that this is a valid Windows installer package.'
I've tried installing alternatives, but either the iPhone driver needs to be installed from iTunes, which isn't working for me, or I just can't find the driver.
And yes, I've tried CopyTrans too.
    Any help?

Doublechecking something first. Are you getting any error messages or no error messages whatsoever?
If it's no error messages whatsover, and the iTunes.exe process appears and persists in Task Manager for long periods of time after you try to launch iTunes, what make and model of firewall software are you running on the PC? (By any chance, is it Norton Internet Security 2005, or the free AOL version of McAfee?)

  • CF-MX 6 Installer package won't verify

I am trying to install CF MX 6 on a windows 2003 server. Her
is the background. This Intranet server has been running fine until
last week when we lost the primary HDD with the OS and installed
apps. I have a new HDD, a fresh install of Won 2003 server, and I'm
now trying to install the Coldfusion MX software. Here is the exact
message that the software installer gives me:
"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the
application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer
    package."
The install process shuts down and won't go beyond this
point. Any ideas why this happens and how to get around it?
    Jim

Is the coldfusion installer a recent download? If so are you
    sure it
was completely and properly downloaded? Did you verify file
    size and
    the MDK? check number?

I'd first try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:

  • ITunes installation package could not be opened

I have tried this after deleting internet files, etc., as suggested. Nothing helps so far. The full message is:
"This installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the applikcation vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
I am running a new, clean installation of Windows XP Home Service Pack 3
Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Thanks for your interest in this problem. Last night I decided to solve the problem by the "brute force" method and I blew everything away and re-installed Windows XP and the download worked perfectly. I suspect that the real problem was with the earlier Windows installation (a full install done by a technician following a disk drive replacement on my laptop).
Thank you very much for thinking about this problem. It was certainly an odd problem and one that I have never run into before, where Windows didn't even recognize the file as a legitimate installation file. Hopefully it was a one-time anomaly and it won't happen again.
    Cheers!

  • I cant install java or itunes installation package could not be opened verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows package installler

installation package could not be opened verify that the package exists and that you can access it or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows package installler  what can i do ? help me

    Hi,
Firstly make sure you save it to your hard disk, and then run setup from there.
If it doesn't help, you may also try to unregister Windows Installer, and then reregister Windows Installer and check if it helps. To do this, follow these steps:
    1. Press Windows Key + R
    2. In the "run" box, type "msiexec /unreg", and then press ENTER.
    3. Press Windows Key + R
    4. In the "run" box, type "msiexec /regserver", and then press ENTER.
Besides that, You could try to create a new user to download and install the application.

    hi J!
(mutter mutter) okay, Blandine Catastrophe is our guru on this one. maybe doing a search on "Blandine Catastrophe" and working back through his relevant posts might turn up something useful. (i seem to recall that most of Blandine's focussed work on this happened fairly early on in his advice career, so you may have to go back a way.)
