Itunes is taking up too much hard drive space on pc? what do I do?

I love the 20 gb ipod i recently got but it now with just 120 songs seems to have taken up too much space on pc hard-drive (ibm) If i allow it to compress to library what will happen to those songs when i re sync? Guess Im afraid theyll disappear from ipod itself.

According to my control panel, mozilla firefox is taking 8gb of my hard drive.

I think it is very strange also, but I did end up uninstalling it and reinstalling it on my hdd instead of my ssd. In doing so I free'd up 5gb of hard drive space on my ssd. I have no idea why it would have taken up so much hard drive space in the first place though.

The authorized repair shop that put both failed hard drives in insists that the size of the hard drive does not cause problems in the Mac book but I am wondering why 2 failed in such a short time when the smaller hard drive lasted. It was working when I took it in for the updates but their diagnotic test showed that the first replacement HD was failing. I'm not sure what to think now.

Hi, can anyone help please? I am a new 80gb ipod owner and want to know if there is a way that i can delete some of the albums from itunes without deleting them from my ipod because my pc hard drive is 80gb also.Therefore if i want to fill my ipod my pc hard drive won't cope.

You can change the update option of your iPod to "manually manage music and videos" if you want it to have a different content to iTunes. You can get details here: Managing content manually on iPod
One major word of caution. If you delete songs from your PC and have no back up other than the iPod you will risk losing them permanently if your iPod fails or you find you have to restore it to solve a problem. You should consider investing in an additional internal or external hard drive to store/back up your music. Alternatively at the very least back up songs you can't replace such as iTunes downloads to CD or DVD. Something else to be aware of when using an iPod in manual mode is that the "Do Not Disconnect" message will remain on the display until you physically eject the device. I have a website that i build through iweb and publish via mobile me. i have about 200 podcasts on the site, and I am trying to figure out how much hard drive space this is taking up on my computer. these files are not in itunes, and i'm not concerned about the space they are taking up in my cloud, i just want to know how much space on my computer they are taking up because i'm trying to decide if i should move my iweb site to a different computer to alleviate some space issues. any help would be much appreciated.

Check the size of the Domain.site2 file that is in your Users/Home/Library/Application Support/iWeb folder. it contains all of the files used to create and publish your site. I'm not sure if it copies the podcasts into it or not. You can open the domain package and do a search for them. Just don't move, rename or delete any files inside that package or your site is toast.

I have an intel macbook pro with 500 internal HD.
I have 160gb of music in my itues folder with another 7gb on a previous library, I am unable to find the size info of my applications folder but I susspect it to be around 50gb, however I only have 59 gb of free HD space remaining. How to I find out what is using the remainder od my hard drive space? I have not yet checked my iphoto. where would this be? Is there someway of checking to see what folders are the bigest on my hard drive?
I can's work out why my disk is so full.
