ITunes Match Upload error

I have a CD that I purchased through iTunes in 2006 and all but one song has uploaded to iCloud.  The message I get when I try to upload the song "The song was not uploaded to iCloud because an error occurred."  It doesn't tell me why and it seems strange that all songs upload, but that one.
Any thoughts?
Thanks
Dennis

The current iTunes Match service is effectively down at present - so it may be a challenge to resolve for a few days.
The usual route to resolving such issues is to:
1.  Securely back-up current library;
2.  Remove track from library;
3.  Re-rip from CD in 256 kbps AAC format using iTunes;
4.  Select Song in library and request 'Upload to iCloud';
5.  Update iTunes Match from Store menu.
Best of luck - worst case, there may be a corruption in the original file but it is unlikely if step 3 completes.

  • Corrupted iTunes Match Uploads

So I have a couple of iTunes match uploads that seems somehow corrupted. I've removed the local files, but they won't re-download from iCloud. The two different errors I get are:
    "An unknow error occurred (11111)"
    and
"The URL "^0" could not be found on the server"
Most frustratingly, I cannot delete these tracks from iCloud either, the delete option is available, but hitting "Delete Songs" on the iCloud deletion confirmation dialog has no effect.
    Any thoughts?

The first file (unknown error) was corrupt at the point of initial iTunes match upload. I've re-ripped it from CD and the new version uploads and downloads to iCloud fine, but it is indicated as a duplicate of the corrupt track in iTunes, and I want to delete the old corrupt version from iCloud.
The second file (URL error) was fine before upload (again, ripped from CD). I retained a local copy and that works fine, however if I delete the local file (via iTunes), it won't redownload from iCloud, and nor can I simply paste the local version back into iTunes, because iTunes is convinced that the file only resides on iCloud and doesn't locate the local version.
This situation has been like this for some weeks now, I've just only now gotten round to mentioning it here.

new mix-song added to itunes (120 mb, mp3, i tried different tracks, some in aac converted) - itunes match waiting - error, close
after a few minutes it gives an error and closes the window.
small tracks are no problem. and the max limit is not reached
    some ideas?
    greetings from germany

I wanted to first thank you for this, as this is the only workaround literature that seems to be floating around out there.  With that said, I know it is a big ask, but is there any way that you could create a video showing step by step how to do what you do?  I have several tracks that are stuck in waiting mode, and if left in itunes, will never upload or match...they only cause the upload process to hang up and restart.  I've tried leaving it for days...I've tried converting the files, signing in and out of itunes (and itunes match), updating itunes match, and I tried your technique...unfortunately to no avail.  Perhaps I didn't do your technique correctly.  I used audacity to reverse the audio.
ANY help would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!!!
    Thanks

  • ITunes Match get error -3231

iTunes Match get error -3231 in Taiwan.
I tried Option+ reEnable iTunes Match to clean the cache.
    But it doesn't work now.

    i) I signed out of iTunes.
ii) Turned everything off, including the computer (not sure if this is important)
iii) Turned it all back on.
iv) Signed back to my iTunes account.
    v) Turned on iTunes Match
It goes through the process, and it works.
    Good luck, peeps!

  • ITunes Match unknown error -50

Today I tried to upload an mp3 track to iTunes and from there to iTunes Match.
iTunes Match has now stopped working and is giving me the error "We could not complete your iTunes store request. An unknown error occured (-50)."
I'm on a laptop (Hewlett Packard Pavilion g6) running Windows 7. My antivirus program is Norton Internet Security. My iTunes version is 10.7.0.21 (I can't stand iTunes 11, sorry).
I've tried signing in and out, restarting iTunes, restarting my computer, etc.
What puzzles me is that when I do an internet search on Error -50, the general response is that it has to do with downloading purchased songs from iTunes. But I wasn't trying to do that. Despite the error message, it wasn't an iTunes store request, it was iTunes Match!
    What's going on?

Apple appears to be having trouble with the iTunes Store servers right now. Wait for them to fix it.

  • ITunes Match "Unknown" Error

I wanted to upload some songs my match, but it wouldn't let me, so I found an article online telling me to delete my "apple.com" cookies then signed back into my account but it would constantly ask me to sign in, and it would't stop asking me to, even though my password was correct. So now my computer does not let me sign into my match.
    Mac OS X Yosemite 10.10

I had this problem also and tried a few more troubleshooting steps (none of which worked), but they might help someone.
Sign out of Apple Id in iTunes, then sign back in
Turn on iTunes Match <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
Turn off/on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
    Quit iTunes
Go into Finder -> Music and rename the "iTunes" folder to "iTunes Backup"
Hold down Option key while clicking on the iTunes icon to start it (this asks you to create a new iTunes library)
Created a new iTunes folder (Music -> iTunes)
Sign into Apple Id in iTunes, then turn on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
Physically walk to another iMac and sign into iTunes and turn on iTunes Match while holding the Option Key <-- didn't work, still had 4010 error
At this point, after having tested on multiple iMacs, I figured that the problem was not with my local iTunes, but something larger (on Apple's end).
Apparently, if you can't access iTunes Match on multiple computers, then the problem could be with your account and you will need to contact Apple Support.  I ended up describing my situation on the support page here - https://getsupport.apple.com/, and had them call me.  I spoke to Anastasia and she had to bump me up to another technician, Brandon.  He suggested that I delete the Album from iTunes...but alas, I cannot get access to the album to delete it without iTunes Match working.
Brandon finally spoke with an Engineer and they said that the issue was on my Apple Id Account and that they'd have to place the account into troubleshooting mode (which means giving Apple access to your account) so that they could figure out the problem.  Of course, I wanted this fixed, so I let them.  I'll hear back in 3-4 days what the engineers find.

  • ITunes Match Unknown Error (4010)

Does anyone know how to solve the "We could not complete your iTunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (4010.)" when trying to set up iTunes Match? It almost went through once but froze at step 3. Now I'm just getting this error above at the end of step 1.
I currently only can see maybe 2/3rds of my iTunes library in the cloud. Some appear to be matches, some are uploads, however not everything is up there. I've tried restarting the match process to no success.
I've e-mailed apple, but the e-mail I got back directed me to these forums.
    - I've checked the xml file and it appears to be fine
    - I've turned off all other iOS devices/AppleTV
    - I've checked for 'dead songs'
    - Tried looking for a weird 'square' in my meta tags
    - There are songs waiting to upload, but don't. (meet all requirements like being over 96k bit rate, etc.)
If the answer has been posted somewhere on here, please let me know. I feel I've done a fairly thourough search on here but unfortunately have not found any solutions yet.
    Thanks,
    -Mike

    I'm having the same problem.
I started the iTunes Match process on Monday and everything started off with smooth sailing. Over 11,000 songs were matched and the other 4,000 were being uploaded into the cloud. Sometime Wednesday night, iTunes crashed unexpectedly and I have been getting the 4010 error ever since. I had 2,000 songs left to upload into the cloud.
    I've:
    - Ran Software Update.
    - Repaired Disk Permissions.
    - Reset PRAM & SMC.
    - Reinstalled iTunes.
    - Checked for Dead Tracks.
    - Validated the XML file the iTunes Library resides in.
    - Re-created the XML file for the iTunes Library.
    - Wiped my entire iTunes library.
I'm still getting that darn 4010 error the moment Step 1 is about to complete.
I've sent off two very detailed emails to iTunes and this is the first response I got back:
"I understand that your iTunes Match has stopped working for your account. I know you must be eager to have this taken care of. I am so sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. My name is John from the iTunes Store and I will do my best to help you.
Apple's engineers are currently working toward a resolution for the issue you have reported. You will receive an email after the matter has been investigated and further information is available.
Thank you so much for your patience. Apple wants your iTunes experience to be as enjoyable as possible.
    Have a great day."
So, um, it looks like there's no fix at the moment.

  • ITunes Match 4010 Error - Apple Server Issue?

I've been using iTunes Match since the day it was available, and have had no issues.  Late last week I started getting the 4010 error some others have been reporting. The library information is gathered and upload to Apple without any apparent issue.  It gets hung up at the point when the iTunes message "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match results..." has been up for about 30 seconds.  After that, the 4010 error appears.
I've tried all the usual tricks and resets, including signing out, creating a new iTunes library, etc., with no success.  The error appears multiple computers under my account.
I'm guessing this is an Apple server issue, but I'm not hearing a lot about it, so I'm beginning to wonder if it's happening to a small number of us.  Does anyone know if this is a widespread issue?
    Thanks!

Thanks.  I checked out those discussions before starting this one. Although they might be related, the other threads seem to mostly be about trouble initially setting up the match, trouble with uploading song information, or in one case, apparent duplicate charges from Apple.
The problem I'm seeing is slightly different in that it happens during a download, when the server is attempting to send the match info back to iTunes.  The suggested fixes didn't work, nor did some others I tried.
I thought the issue might be fixed with the last iTunes update, but it wasn't.  I had the same issue with 10.5.1 and 10.5.2.  It sounds like there are multiple problems on Apple's side.  It's been a week, but I guess we'll continue to wait and see.
    Thanks, again.

  • Itunes Match upload keeps failing

    Hey there,
I signed up for iTunes Match yesterday and it's matched up most of my library but it's just started running the Step 3 "Uploading Artwork And Remaning Songs" FOR THE THIRD TIME - it gets all the way through the process then I turn around ten minutes later and the **** thing has started the whole process again. Any ideas?
    Cheers
    Rob

    Rob,
I posted on a similar topic, you are lucky if it takes 10 minutes to get to the point where it crashes, due to the size of my library mine takes around 2 hours, and I have had to restart it hundreds of time and been at it for 4 months now I think. Each time an update for itunes is available I hopefully install it, problem not fixed as yet, I live in hope. itunes 11 was in my opinion a downgrade, features removed, can't see where apple are going with this, downhill mostly.
Only solution I have found so far is sheer persistence, just keep on restarting it, until eventually you get all your songs uploaded. There are some songs at the top of the list which dont have an itunes match/cloud status but I will deal with those once uploads have finished.
From what I've read elsewhere the crashing *may* be related to the size of the files (seems iTunes match doesn't like large files). If you have lossless or WAV files, consider converting to AAC 256kb which I think is what iTunes match wants to put into the cloud, so might help. The conspiracy theorists would probably say the bug intentional and in order to get you to purchase apple hardware.
Last time I asked iTunes about a refund a very partronising lady replied and in essence told me that iTunes store policy is "All sales are final", in other words, no refunds. I guess if it happened on the internet then it didn't really happen, not same as the store where you can get no questions asked refund.
Hope you get it sort, good luck

  • ITunes Match unknown error (-54)

I did the update for OS X and therefore iTunes that was released yesterday, and everything went smooth.
Then today I opened iTunes for the first time after the update, and for the first time I got this error:
If I click OK it tries again, but the error appears again, and so on...
Until I click on the little X and stop the iTunes Match process, but that means that it doesn't do its work in the end!
What's happening? It never happened before, I've been using Match for a year and it's always worked fine.
I've just two days ago renewed my subscription, which was 28€, so I wouldn't want for it to stop working after this iTunes update!
Anyone else experiencing the same thing?
    Thanks for your help.

    Now I also get this:

  • ITunes Match - Unknown Error Occurred (4010)

  • Itunes Match -9810 error

    Hi,
I tried to start Itunes Match a few days now, but I always get the following error:
"We could not complete your ITunes Store request. An unknown error occurred (-9810).
There was an error in the iTunes Store. Please try again later."
I get it always on step 2 of the match process...
Im based in Austria, anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks!
    lee

yes I have been on tech support 4 times with this issue. No one can help me.

  • Itunes match 4010 error

Today I'm getting an "unknown error occured (4010)" when iTunes Match tries to update.  It sits at "Waiting for Apple to deliver your iTunes Match result..." for awhile and then it puts up that error.  It did so both before updating to iTunes 10.7 (Windows) and afterwards.
I can update genius info, but not match.
    Anyone else having this problem?

Very strange - for me it's the same problem.
I've tried to move my library from my Macbook Pro to my new-buyed-used mac-mini. It all went sucessfull, but until the movement of my library, all works fine - only iTunes Match isn't working until then.
Now my mac-mini should be the one, who's syncing with iTunes Match.
I've already connected my Macbook Pro again with a all-new library and can acess my cloud-hosted songs. Also from my iPad 2 & my iPhone - but i can't sync any new songs to my account...
I also get the same, meaningless Message as Morac already posted: "unknown error occured (4010)"
Is any body here who has a tipp/sloution for me?
Also I'm afraid, that no one from the hotline has a tipp/solution - sounds like they need some training?

  • ITunes match uploading is taking too long

iTunes Match needs to upload over 2,000 items. In 24 hours it has only uploaded 132. This is going to take a month. Can I turn iTunes Match off? Any other ideas?

Which software did you use to restore it, if you didn't go with iTunes?

  • Library corruption on initial iTunes Match upload?

Has anyone else seen this behavior? I just subscribed to iTunes Match. It went through the whole parsing of the library and uploaded. But now the library is messed up - some movies were marked as music, music as movies, some song files appear to have been overwritten in the library (the Avengers movie actually replaced "Sing" by the Carpenters - it shows up listed as track 12 of 14, with a mix of entries from the movie and the original song). The original files appear to be untouched (thankfully), so I can probably rebuild the library without too much loss of data.
Is this a known "feature"? I think the convenience would be wonderful if the music didn't end up scrambled in translation...
    Thanks for any feedback!

In iTunes turn off iTunes Match and quit iTunes. Then restore the iTunes Library.itl file from your backup that is from before you first turned on iTunes Match.
