ITunes -- no disk???? - help!
I'm having difficulty getting my newly updated iTunes to run. Quicktime works fine, but whenever I click to open iTunes from my desktop I get the following message -- Quicktime Handler Window: iTunes.exe - No disk There is no disk in the drive. Please insert a disk into drive\Device\Harddisk\DR3 - it is one of those pesky windows that pops up again the second you hit cancel. I have tried removing and reinstalling QT/Itunes, but the same window keeps coming up. Itunes does not appear in the task manager. I have McAfee anti-virus, but disabling the program during installation of itunes hasn't worked. HELP!!!!

hmmmm. working on some long-shot possibilities here. could you head into your "My Computer" for us and check up on a few things for us?
(1) what's the drive letter of the hard drive that your program files and operating system are installed on?
(2) do you have a "removable media" drive like a Zip or a Jaz installed on the PC which has a lower drive letter than the hard drive with your program files and operating system?
(3) what are the drive letters of your CD drives?
(4) what USB peripherals do you have connected to that PC?

Check the iPod Hardisk, with DiskDiagnostic as posted here by tt2

It wont fix your problem, but help us both, in troubleshooting, and reducing frivolous suggestions.
If your report says high Realloc or Pending Sector, then it's time to have your hardisk replaced.

I just updated to the newest version of ITunes well, not just but a few days ago. Anyway I have windows 8, and in ITunes my Ipod 5th gen will not show up. I have tried somethings such as unpluging repluging, going to services and restarting, basiclly everything on yoyutube, none still work. It's ***** to cause I just wanted to put music on my Ipod, if anyone has an idea of what to do please give some suggestions.

1. Try the iPod troubleshooting assistant:
If you haven't already done so, try the steps in the iPod Troubleshooting Assistant (choose your iPod model from the list).
If the issue remains after following your iPod's troubleshooting assistant, follow the steps below.
2. Restart the iPod Service
3. Restart the Apple Mobile Device Service
4. Empty your Temp directory and restart
5. Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed
6. Change your iPod's drive letter
7. Remove and reinstall iTunes
8. Disable conflicting System Services and Startup Items
9. Update, Reconfigure, Disable, or Remove Security Software
10. Deleting damaged or incorrect registry keys

Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

The Apple TV 2 doesn't show up under devices like the Apple TV 1, to send video and music to the Apple TV you need to use the Airplay Option which appears in the lower right corner of iTunes. -
The pass 4 days now my iTunes Store is not responding, when I reload it all that comes up is a blank white page that says iTunes Store. Help please!!!! Cannot load my gift card to buy music and such!!!

I found a solution to my problem.
> start menu
> accessories,
> right click on the command prompt icon and choose "run as administrator".
Once it opens, type in the following command...
netsh winsock reset
hit enter
You should get a message that the winsock reset successful and you will need to reboot your computer.
Reboot and when I reloaded itunes the store loaded fine.

I have updated to the lastest OS on my IPad3. No problem there. Then found I could no longer access my Itunes as there was a message 'Cannot be used as it requires version 10.6.3 or later. Go to ... and download'. I have tried four times and it won't work. I get another message saying I must sign in as administrator or contact my system administrator. I am the only one who uses this PC and have no idea what my administrator password is. Now I cannot use ITunes. Please help if you can. Thank you. Eileen Frost
Many thanks diesel. I cannot remember ever having an administrator password. Looks like I shall have to do a restore on my PC and not bother with the updates. Or maybe I could find my password from somewhere ? When I went into control panel I found a box with administrator and my name and it said password protected so I must have had one at some time. Any ideas on how I could find it ? Many thanks anyway. I always use a password to sign on but obviously that is not it. Eileen

The search function in the itunes store does not work. It will accept a request and suggest searches but then it locks up and will not search. Clicking on the magnifying glass or a suggested search does nothing. Re-installing itunes has not helped.

I just installed itunes 10.6.1.7. on a new PC connected an external hard drive containing my itunes library and pointed to my library on an external hard drive.
I also did reorganization of my library structure via "organize library" menu option. The reorg left all video podcasts in the old podcast folder and will not let me copy them to the new podcast folder.
From the itunes store I cannot select a new video podcast and download and view it in itunes. The podcast will show up but the file or episode has a "GET" button next to it and never shows it as available to view in itunes. I have attempted to download many time with no success.
I have podcasts that are all video podcasts and some that are mixed audio podcasts and video podcasts. in both cases the video podcasts remained in the original folder location.
The video podcasts are not in movies or in tv shows. All music is present and accounted for that I know.
How can I restore all video podcasts previously downloaded and view them on itunes or an ipod?
Can I create a video podcast option in itunes?
Please help.Issue solved - It turns out that the QuickTime version on my PC was 6.5 and I needed to update to version 7.6 or higher to allow videos to play in iTunes. I updated to QuickTime version 7.7 and then added the old podcast folder to iTunes while in podcasts. This found all video podcast content and then the auto reorg moved all folders to the new podcast directory. For the videos I manually moved earlier, I had to move (not copy) them back to the old directory or folder then add that old folder and they were now in the right directory and viewable in iTunes.

Alright, right after posting my question I figured it out. I plugged my iPod into one of the USB ports in the front of the MacPro and it worked like a charm. Now the problem is, what is wrong with the two ports in the back of my Apple Cinema HD screen? That I can't figure out clearly. The USB connection from it to the MacPro is connected.
