I downloaded the new version of itunes and it only loads when I have my Norton Internet Security Disabled. How can I fix this?

  • Firefox will not work with norton security suite... when is the fix going to be available?

since upgrading to firefox 5.0 I have not been able to use norton security suite....
I was told that it would be upgraded to work in a couple months.... It has been more that that...
Are you ever going to have a fix for this????

Firefox 5.0 was released 4 weeks ago tomorrow, not a "couple of months ago".
I have heard that Norton released an update patch for Firefox 5.0 on Tuesday 06-21 when Firefox 5.0 was released. ''(versus taking their normal six to eight weeks)'' Some Norton users have reported that the toolbar may not work if the Norton patch was installed before Firefox 5.0, instead if after Firefox 5.0 was already installed.

  • I downloaded firefox 4.0.1 and it does not work with Norton. How do I load 4.0 back on?

With firefox 4.0.1 none of my passwords or log in names are entered from my norton program. I would like to go back to 4.0 which was working fine with all my systems. Any way this can be done? Below it list my installed plug ins but those are from my laptop which I'm using now not from my desktop which is the problem child.

Symantec are due to release updates very soon to make their add-ons work in Firefox 4.0.1. For details see http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Internet-Security-Norton/Norton-product-compatibility-with-Firefox-Updates/m-p/443808
Pending this update, you can go back to Firefox 4.0, their add-ons work in that version. You can get Firefox 4.0 from http://releases.mozilla.org/pub/mozilla.org/firefox/releases/4.0/win32/ - you need to select the folder for your language, you can then download and run the Firefox 4 setup file to install it.
If you do install Firefox 4.0 temporarily turn off automatic updates until Symantec update their add-ons. To do that in the Firefox options window, go to the Advanced panel, and then the Update tab and de-select the option to automatically check for updates to Firefox.

  • Itunes not working with Vista Home Premium 32-bit

Itumes 10.6.3 version will not work with Vista Home Premium. I have a 32-bit operating system. I'm not sure what to do next. It appears in trying to update it deleted the old itumes, as I can't find a copy of it when I search the computer.

    Then I installed Quicktime on its own - still get the same error 'Quicktime has stopped working;
Okay. That will be the source of the iTunes problem. (Without a properly working QuickTime, iTunes won't work correctly.)
Checking on things that can cause QuickTime launch errors now.
Have you at any stage installed any Codec Packs, any copies of the programs QT Alternative, QT Lite or Storm Codec, or any media converter programs that can convert files into QuickTime readable formats?
(I'm checking on these things because depending on the versions of the programs/codec-packs, these can install earlier versions of QuickTime componentry on a PC, which can interfere with the running of a higher version of QuickTime.)

  • Work around for iTunes not working with shuttle

Well, I have found a work around for the iTunes not working the the Shuttle. It is not pretty, and many of you may not choose to follow my lead. This procedure has a lot of dumb steps in it, but in the end, one can copy data/songs to a Shuttle.
It involves removing the current iTunes and replacing it with a version that also had a bug in it.( I told you it ain't pretty).
    Procedure:
    1. Go to this url: http://www.apple.com/downloads/macosx/apple/ipod_itunes/itunes802forwindows.html
    2. Download the old 8.0 version of iTunes for Windows.
    3. Remove the current iTunes from your computer. Note after you run the remove utility in Windows, you need to delete the iTune library that isn't removed.
    4. Install iTunes 8.0
Here is where it gets dumb.
This version of iTunes has a bug with the USB interface, but there is an easy work around.
    5. Make sure the Shuttle is not connected when you launch iTunes.
    6. After iTunes comeup, attach the Shuttle.
    7. iTunes should see your Shuttle.
    8. Select the music you want to upload, and drag it to the Shuttle.
    9. iTunes will just sit there, so you need to get its attention. To get its attention you must disconnect and reconnect one of your USB devices, just not the Shuttle. Some folks do their mouse, one used a USB drive, and another on used is GPS because he was working from a laptop and did not have a mouse.
    10. In a few moments, iTunes will do its thing and copy your data to the Shuttle. You must do this routine for each copy, so if you develop a Play List, you only have to do step 9 once.
The getting the old copy of iTunes was my idea, but a gentleman from a year ago figured out the mouse step.
I am now a happy camper, my Shuttle is full of music again.
However, I hope Apple finds a fix for the 8.2 problem soon.
    Take care all.

I stand corrected on the name. By the time I figured out how to copy the songs I had a few other names in mind.
One of the first things I tried was the Reset utility. After the iTunes restore did not work, I went looking for something else. After using the utility, I connected the iPod and resynced. I had left the Autofill box checked. iTunes autofilled the iPod. I deleted those songs and tried to put a different play list in. It would not copy the songs, iTunes said there was no room even though the play list for the shuffle was empty. I looked at the settings screen and it said the iPod was full. I synced the iPod to my Mac, and that got rid of the "full" indication. That is when I started looking for an older version of iTunes, unfortunately all I could find is a version with the USB bug.

  • Converted home videos to itunes not working with ipod touch

So I finally was able to convert some home movies to itunes but now they will not work with my ipod touch. I get a error message saying "can not be played on this ipod". I also can't get the movies to work with my ipod video (classic) either, how do I fix this? And yes there is enough space for the videos.

if the files are in iTunes, select one (or all) and choose +create iPod or iPhone version+ from the advanced menu. try syncing the newly created file(s) to your Touch.
    what happens ?

  • Password Manager not working with any internet browsers

I have Thinkvantage password manager installed (v. 3.20.0311.00) on my Thinkpad X201. I am running Windows 7 professional, 64 bit. Password Manager works for all programs except IE8 or Mozilla Firefox (eg. works for Outlook, works for iTunes, etc.). When browsing, the program simply never pops up. It worked previously, and I still have many saved website login details, but it never logs in for me any more and new sites do not activate the program.
I have made sure that the add-on is enabled and I have checked the box next to "enable 3rd party browser extensions" in the advanced tab of internet options. I have also tried resetting internet explorer settings. As mentioned above, this in not only a problem with IE8; it also occurs with Firefox.
Any help would be very much appreciated.

Same problem here. I just recieved mine (Win 7 pro 64 bit, X201 Multitouch) last week and password manager not working at all in ANY web browser. It recorded my .net password just fine, but i can't get it to work in IE8. Who pays this kind of money for something that doesnt work?

  • Itunes not working with airtunes

i have just moved into my new apartment and i am trying to set up my airtunes with all the same components that it worked with before the move. all the wires are placed in the right place and function ok. my airport express works fine for using internet. i plugged the proper cords in the airport and opened itunes...no drop down box in the corner for airtunes. the correct box is checked in the itunes advanced menu. i have tried everything from restarting the computer, restarting the airport, updating the airport, etc. my comp has all of the latest updates. one thing i found a little strange is that if i unplug the airpot and then plug it back in while itunes is open, the box appears and i select my airtunes network, however, it fails in attempting to connect to it. if i close itunes and open it back up again, the airtunes box in itunes is gone. please help me! i am happy to answer any questions!!! -Joe

I got the same issue and solved it. It seems that iTunes 8 introduces a new behavior. In order to have it sending music to an Airport Express, you have to make shure that several parameters are correctly set:
the firmware of the AE must be upgraded to 6.3
your firewall settings must allow "iTunes music sharing" and the UDP trafic must not be blocked (see in advanced options)
allow IP V6 to configure automatically
in other post some users also had to repair authorisation. It was OK for me.
The 3rd item was wrong on my iMac (IPV V6 disabled). I set IP V6 to automatic, then restarted iTunes... and it worked fine. Please see also this topic in the forum: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1701084
I hope that this can be reproduced to make your configuration running smoothly.

  • WRT54G not working with Satellite internet

    Please help!
I purchased the Linksys WRT54G a few months ago, set up my home network (laptop with wireless running XP, desktop hard wired to router running 2000, and desktop wireless running XP) everything worked great!
I got the internet installed.  We ( the installer and I ) got the internet to work on my laptop, and he left, said the rest is up to me!  I did not think it would be to bad, but I am stuck!!
My laptop no longer connects to the network! - I can ping the WRT54G but can not see any thing else.  I can connect to the internet only if I plug directly into my laptop, if I go into the Linksys it will not work from any computer!  My other two computers still see the network and can talk to one another but not to the laptop.  I can no longer print from the laptop (which I could do before) the printer is off of the 2000 destop, used to work great!
I have tried some things that I seen here on the forms, "cloned the Mac address" "updated the firmware" and "power cycled" until I am blue in the face, but to no avail!
Additional info - There is a Linksys 8 port 10/100 Switch placed after the Satellite modem, to connect some other hard wired pc's in the house.
It goes Satellite modem - Switch - (some computers attached here) - Router - (rest of the PC's attach here).
I hope you can understand my ramblings!
    Any help is greatly appreciated!
    Thanks

Satellite modem: LAN side set to 192.168.1.1 (assumed)
      dhcp enabled: range: 192.168.1.20-200
Switch: if this is an intelligent switch set it to 192.168.1.2
      dhcp: disabled
    Router: set to 192.168.1.3
      dhcp: disabled
If the satellite modem using a different base setting (ie. 192.168.222.1) you must adjust all other values(222) to match.

  • New version of iTunes not working with itunes library

I installed the new iTunes 8.0 and now when I try to open iTunes, I get an error message--"the file itunes library.itl cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes." What does that mean, how can i make iTunes work with my new Nano?

I have I tunes on both the laptop with WindowsXP and on the
newly acquired Desktop, HP Q 8200 with Vista 64.
For the latter I have downloaded the latest recommended
version for Vista64, but even though I can see the imported
and saved ( on an external hard drive) play list I can not
play them. When I click on them on this new Vista 64
empowered Desktop, nothing happens. When I click on
Beethoven folder ( which contains many creations by
composer) I can see nothing in the right panel regarding
    the overture, for example.
On the laptop I have exactly the same play list and all
    works fine there.
Audio is OK, because when I go to the I-tunes store with
the desktop, I can listen to the songs.
    Any solutions????

  • Time Machine doesnt work with McAfee Internet Security Software

    Hello,
I recently installed the McAfee product All Access Internet Security on my 2011 iMac (10.9.4) and configured the real time scan, spyware, application protection and firewall features. All appeared to be running fine with no performance degradation which is great, but after some testing I discovered that the firewall feature prevents Time Machine from connecting to Time Capsule and back ups don't work. Upon deactivating the firewall feature but leaving all other McAfee services running the Time Machine works fine again and all is well.
I'm wondering if there is a way to make a change to a setting that will allow the McAfee firewall to run as two layers of protection (Desktop Firewall and Time Capsule firewall) would be ideal.
Has anyone experienced this or have any suggestions on where to start ?
    Thanks everyone.
    Chris

Just did it here and its working.
My first language is portuguese, so I will try to guess what the similar in English, ok?
1- Go to Mcafee "Preferences"(clic on the Mcfee icon in the upside of your monitor)
    2- Go to "Firewall"
3- Here there is a choice in the little window: "Type: public" is the default option. I changed it to "Type: house or work".
Its working now. Already made two backups in Time Machine(Time Capsule). Don't know what will happen after a day or two.

  • Itunes not working with 64 bit operating system

Does anybody know how 2 or when itunes will work or can work with a 64 bit system. I had no problems when I first downloaded itunes on my computer about 4 months ago. Then I updated itunes and it doesnt install properly. On the disclaimer it says it will only work with a 32 bit or less. I've lost my entire itunes library. atleast its still in my ipod but i cant burn any songs either. Does anybody know how 2 fix this?

If you are referring to Vista Support, It may be after the new year before it fully supports vista. I have not upgraded to vista yet but I was thinking about it!

  • HT4009 itunes not working with my paypal

i connected my paypal account with my itunes, but when trying to purchase in app items, getting insufficent funds still. there is money in my paypal plus backed up fundings thru my bank and credit card. Made sure I went into my preferred payments in paypal and oked itunes also.

Now my iphone 3 cannot work  with itunes. It says that i need to download 64bit version for windows 7 64bit.
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you? If so, can you get a normal iTunes install to go through properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • Itunes  not working with ipod tuch :(

hi got an ipod tuch for christmas and when i open itunes with it plugged it an error message comes up saying "this ipod cannot because the required software is not installed. Run the itunes installer to remove itunes then install itunes again." ive tried this several times but the same message comes up. I know its not the ipod as it works in other computers. Apple mobile device support doesnt download with itunes every time i download it. any idead?
    thanks

I just bought a 32GB Touch yesterday...:) I had exactly the same problem. I reinstalled ITunes several times with the same result. Finally I uninstalled anything that had to do with Apple - Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support, Apple Software Update, Bonjour, QuickTime, and ITunes. Then I deleted ProgramData->Apple and Apple Computer, then I created a temp folder unde my user folder and moved "User"->AppData->Local->Apple and Apple Computer to the temp folder, then I moved "User"->AppData->LocalLow->Apple Computer to the temp folder, then I moved the "User"->AppData->Roaming->Apple Computer to the temp folder. Then I reinstalled ITunes. Then I ran ITunes and the IPod was recognized and I registered it, etc. Then I quit ITunes and copied ITunesPrefs from the temp Folder (Local->Apple Computer->ITunes) to "User"->AppData->Local->Apple Computer->ITunes). That way I could rerun ITunes with my previous settings for podcast, music, etc. Sounds like it's complicated, but I just wanted to save the AppData stuff just incase . Everything is working well now. Hope this helps. cottongd
