Itunes producer error

Hi friends, I am again here with a problem: in this period everything is going wrong!
I have 8 titles already present in the ibook store: definitely I have repeated this operation several times, but for the first time it does not work, apparently without any motivation.
In one of the last windows of itunes producer, definition of price and markets "rights and prices", I have to define the markets for sell, the type of publication (e.g., only digital) and the price or the price tier. Well, when I click on the "type of publication" choice, a blank line appears only. No choice. For this reason, also price tiers do not appear. And at the end, messages like "ERROR ITMS-5000: "Price tier is required when product is cleared for sale. (AU)" at Book/Offer (MZItmspOfferPackage)" appear. At this point I could send a message to Apple with the reported error. But another message appears: "*** -[__NSCFString substringToIndex:]: Range or index out of bounds". For this reason, also the message to Apple is not allowed.
It seems to me that this software has a lot of bugs. But why, right now, it is not functioning?
In addition, I tried to open previous .itmsp files of books already sent to the store. Well, also those files now refuse to accept anything in the field "type of publication" (window rights and prices). But they did: because I was successful in the past.
So, what has changed? Something in the system? Type of connection? Anybody has an idea about this?
Excuse me for bothering you, but also the aid by Apple is impossible and... I am truly desperade!
Thanks a lot
Valerio

Same problem here, but I'm trying to add a digital booklet to an existing album (album is already in iTunes Music Stores). So not sure how to add a digital booklet.

  • Fix for iTunes Producer error message?  Fixing unallowable image names in iBA Gallery

    In Gallery I had image names with unallowable characters, e.g. "photo name.jpg".  I changed the name to "photoname.jpg" and re-added it in Inspector>Interaction>Gallery Media.  It still appears as "photo name.jpg"???  Even in a new Gallery Widget?
    I'm new here so please forgive me if I am violating any protocol.  I would greatly appreciate any guidence in correcting my error.

    The delivery of your book ended in error because there are image files that do not match the file extension type.  Make sure that all image files inside the book file end with one of the following: .jpg or .png and that the image file itself matches the file extension type."
    I did have a few tif images which I converted to jpg.
    But, I ran across this posting which suggested I had other problems with my naming convention.

    So, it turns out, the problem with these png-images is the NAME. There are no restrictions, to name your pictures, but when you intend to use them in iBooksAuthor, make sure, that there are no "wrong charakters" in the name. You may use a to z charakters, 1 to 0 numbers and "-" and "_". That's it.
    The file "St. Giles.jpg" has
    a) a ".", which is wrong and
    b) an empty space, which is wrong too.
    When you use screenshots, things are getting even worse "Bildschirmfoto 2013-02-08 um 08.02.   15.50.19".
    So, if there are error codes as specified, you have to go through the document, click on each and every image and then check the filename. As you see below, you must activate the image itself to see the filename (in this case the filename is corrcect)."

    You really need to put your codes between the
    [\code] tags
    see http://forum.java.sun.com/features.jsp#Formatting
    for more infoCode tags might make it look a little better, but there's still too darn much code. We're volunteers, after all. It'd be a lot of work to review all of this stuff. Can you demonstrate your problem with something smaller? Learn out how to do a combo box with just a page or two and then appy that to your big problem. That's how I'd do it. - MOD

    Hello Fellow iBook Authors!
    Today I received the same error that you all have been discussing.  I tried selecting the DRM
    and this did not work for me, though I'm glad it did for some.  Here's what I did as a work-around. . .
    Since iBooks Author did not have a problem with Videos, I simply used one of my video programs, ScreenFlow to turn the audio into a video file m4v.  I added an image and extended the length or timing of the image to span the length of the audio file.  Then exported as an .mov.  I then opened QuickTime and opened the file and exported the file to iTunes.
    You can use iMovie, Camtasia or any other progam that will allow you to export the audio as a movie file.  Does this make sense?  I hope this helps, at least in the short-term.

    OK, hair-pulling commencement...
    I've now re-entered as non-formatted text (one-entry-at-a-time) every one of the 200+ Glossary entries, and relcated and replaced all illustrations on the Glossary pages. Still, iTP just will not pass this file. Note... the image files noted in this error message are not- repeat not in the book. I can't remove what isn't there. Somebody please help me understand how to correct the glossary "fragments" if they don't appear anywhere. Can you help me parse ths infor to at least see what page these fragments are in? I don't understand the statements, nor do I understand how to make it right.

  • ITunes Producer: Error reading password from keychain ?

    I'm using iTunes Producer 2.9 on Mac OS X 10.8.5
    When I try to log in using my Apple ID (enabled for iBookStore) I get an error regarding keychain access.
    Can you please point me to the right direction?

    You can also use $(...)
    bob_pw=$(cat /home/oracle/scripts/bob.pw)However, it may not be the best idea to supply the password with the executable since everyone will be able to see the password when doing a process listing with ps command. But you can use the following.
    pwd=hr
    sqlplus -s /nolog <<-EOF
    connect hr/$pwd;
    show user;

  • ITunes Producer error - "This playlist has already been submitted"

    Hi,
    I'm quite clueless here, and would be glad for any help or reference with this error.
    I'm an iTunes content publisher, and wanted to start working with Producer to upload new stuff.
    I created a new entry, will all details - but when i'm trying to upload, *i'm getting the following error*

    Anyone knows what could be the reason? really desperate to get this solved, as I just can't submit new stuff.
    Didn't find any iTunes Producer support forum, so thought to post here. Feel free to refer to any relevant place or people to check with.

    Hello,
    I had the same problem, But just change the Name of the feed and The Link for example:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <rss xmlns:itunes="http://www.itunes.com/dtds/podcast-1.0.dtd" version="2.0">
        <channel>
            <title>Timoteos Miami</title>

           <language>es</language>
            <copyright>Casa Roca Miami 2012</copyright>
    Change it to whatever you want. Submit it, and when it has been approve just change it back.

  • Itunes producer error message is driving me nuts

    Hi,
    I'm almost at the end of my rope with this problem.  Why is uploading to iTunes so difficult?  I've created an epub file in Sigil which tests ok in Sigil and FlightCrew. But when I try to upload it to iTunes, Producer keeps giving me this error message:
    ERROR ITMS-3000: "Line 98 column 54: character content of element "file_name" invalid; must be a string matching the regular expression "[^./: ]+([.][^./: ]+)+" at XPath /package/book/assets/asset[2]/data_file/file_name"
    I've gone through the Sigil contenopf file looking for strange characters but can't find anthing (I've even changed the document copyright sign to (c) just incase).  Can anyone tell me in plain simple English what this error means and how I can fix it?

    I know pretty much nothing about producer (never heard of it until your post).  I do notice in the other forum one one line of code produces a smiley symbol which suggests there's some invisible character or code that's at least generating this in a web browser.  It's not position 54 though.

  • EPub file that works elsewhere getting error in iTunes producer, error items-9000

    I'm trying to upload an epub file to iBookstore with iTunes Producer. It's an epub file that's uploaded elsewhere with no problems. I am getting this error message ERROR ITMS-9000: "Unable to analyse: chap07.html" at Book (MZItmspBookPackage). Would appreciate any help.. thanks

    Just did a little research. You must publish your book from iBooks Author if you have media files in it. That arror code means that there is a file type error. If you upload using iBooks Author then that code should go away.

  • Answer: Explaining cryptic iTunes Producer error messages

    I ran into all kinds of cryptic errors when submitting a book to iBooks via the iTunes Producer program. It looks like Apple is using the Java program "epubcheck" and simply returning those errors to the user (not very user-friendly). I found explanations and solutions to many of the errors over at the epubcheck wiki (and even added one).
    http://code.google.com/p/epubcheck/wiki/Errors
    Just thought this may be useful for others as well.

    I got a reply from iBookstore support that fixed me right up.  My issue was not a JAVA issue.  Here's what they sent:
    You can make an update to your settings in iTunes Producer to avoid this issue.
    1. Open iTunes Producer
    2. From the iTunes Producer menu, open Preferences.
    3. Click on the icon for Advanced settings at the right side of the screen.
    4. Uncheck the box next to Signiant.
    5. Close settings and reattempt your delivery.
    You will be notified by email once Signiant is available again.
    Once I did that, my book delivered on the first try.  I'm fixed and thanks to Apple.
