Itunes says my ipod is full, but all the music on it appears to be erased.

I plugged my 1st gen. ipod nano into my computer to charge it.

When iTunes and the iPod report different used space, then you could restore it.

itunes says my ipod is synched but all I get on the ipod itself is a blank white screen. i can't get to the menu. Help!

    Try:
    - iOS: Not responding or does not turn on
When it says place the iPod in recovery mode use one of these programs:
    For PC
RecBoot: Easy Way to Put iPhone into Recovery Mode
    If necessary:
    Download QTMLClient.dll & iTunesMobileDevice.dll for RecBoot

    - If not successful and you can't fully turn the iOS device fully off, let the battery fully drain. After charging for an least an hour try the above again.
    - Try on another computer
    - If still not successful that usually indicates a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

    The dragging does not work:
    - Transfer iTunes purchases by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - For other music you will need a third-party program like one of those discused here:
    Copy music
    - Connect the iPod to your compouter and make a backup by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up.
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Nothe that the backup that iTunees makes does not include synced media like apps nd music.

I just clean installed maverick on my computer and I have nothing in my iTunes library, how can I get back all the music I have bought?

From your backups. By doing a clean install you erased your startup volume. You may have installed OS X, but your personal software was erased. You can restore from backups if your have them. If not, then you've lost it all, permanently.

  • I have iTunes ver 10 on a PC with Playlists which do not sync to ITouch or Nano (6th Gen). All the music does not appear and the playlists do not appear at all. I have selected to manually manage music on the sum tab

I have iTunes ver 10 on a PC with Playlists which do not sync to an Itouch or Nano (6th Gen). Also, all the music does not appear when I check entire library and there is enough memory on the device. When I select to manually manage music on the summary tab and selected playlists on the music tab nothing changes. Either way all the music isn't on either device and the playlists are not on either device. Please advise next steps. Thank you.

Connect the device to the computer.
In iTunes, select the content desired to sync.
    Sync.
This is all described in the User's Guide, reading it may be a good place to start.

  • IPod touch full but wont show music or videos

I just downloaded itunes 10 and threw a bunch of movies onto my ipod. I went to go watch them today at work and it says there is no video and no music on my ipod. but when i look at General>About> there are no songs no videos but there is only 178 mb avail on a 16gb ipod. so the Ipod is full but nothing is showing up. any ideas?

Here's what I've noticed with my 2nd generations iPod Touch since upgrading to iOS 4.
I'll download some new content, a couple of podcasts let's say. iTunes shows that I have nine (9) unplayed podcasts. I'll manually tell iTunes to sync the changes to my iPod but when that process completes, I'll notice that the iPod only shows eight (8) podcast present on the device. So I manually tell iTunes to sync again, this time the missing podcast gets transferred to the device and now iTunes and the iPod Touch both show that they have nine (9) podcasts.
But there's a problem. Before manually sync'ing the first time, iTunes says that there is .19 GB of "Other" content on my iPod Touch. After manually sync'ing the second time however, that number grows to .29 GB.
So here's what I think is happening. The podcast that didn't sync the first time gets trapped on the device as "other" content because its transfer during the first sync process fails. Now that space isn't recovered on the iPod Touch device unless you "restore" your device. Not good! I think a bug needs a killing.

  • I recently downloaded the latest update for my Ipod Touch and now all the music I had downloaded (not from Itunes)....can I restore those songs now that there were 350 of them and they are gone? Thanks

I recently downloaded the latest update for my Ipod touch. When I finished all the music that was downloaded to it was gone. I really need help from any one that knows how to restore music - not bought from Itunes - to my Ipod touch. Thank you very much

    Per Rysz' suggestion, configure accordingly:

  • After updating software on my iPod touch, i lost all the music on my iPod and itunes said something is "missing"

I updated the software on my iPod touch and it did not sync properly eliminating all the music and photos from my iPod.  When syncing again this morning, it wouldn't sync.  Any suggestions?

The esact wording of th errot message is very importent.  What was missing?

  • How do I transfer all tunes(only some appear in the imovie 11 itunes library) in my itunes library into the new iMovie itunes library? How do I restore all the music (not all added from imovie 9) play in my videos transferred from imovie 9 into iMovie 11?

How do I recover the many imovie 9 projects that did not transfer from imovie 9 into imovie 11? How do I make all of my  itunes library accessible to the itunes library in imovie 11. How do I recover those music audio tracks lost in the transfer from  imovie 9 projects  into imovie 11? How do I add music from my itunes library into imovie 11 projects. Some do and others cannot.

for purchases from the iTunes store do this:
connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.

  • ITunes says my iPod is synced but songs are not appearing.

I had to start all over with my iPod because all of my files were erased. I downloaded a bunch of new songs and videos and when I sync my iPod, a message appears saying that three of the files cannot be copied. I used to get that before too, so no big deal. But when I look on my iPod, the songs are not there. It is not telling me that it cannot be synced and the bar at the bottom of the preferences page or w/e says that I have 1.60 GB of music, 795.1 MB of video, and 25.42 MB of 'other'. I have already authorized this computer. Why won't it sync properly?

iTunes can "sync" an iPod, and not transfer any songs.  You may need to set up or update automatic syncing in iTunes for the iPod.  Otherwise, syncing may sync nothing.
First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is hidden, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.  When connected, the iPod appears in the sidebar, under DEVICES.
Second, when you set up automatic syncing, the iPod's existing content is replaced.  Any songs on the iPod that are not in your iTunes library will be lost.  Is that OK?  If that's a problem, please post back.
Select the iPod in the iTunes sidebar.  To the right, the iPod's Summary screen is shown.  Toward the top, there is a bar of buttons starting with Summary.  Click on Music next to Summary.  This Music screen is where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the iPod.
Check the box for Sync Music.  This setting enables automatic syncing.  If your iTunes music library can fit on the iPod, you can choose to sync Entire music library.  Then, "everything" (that is music) syncs to the iPod when you click Apply.  Going forward, any changes to the music library sync automatically to the iPod, at the next opportunity.
Otherwise, you can choose to sync Selected playlist, artists, albums, and genres.  Then, select (checkmark) what you want on the iPod from the lists below.  For example, you can have playlists in your iTunes library with songs you want on the iPod.  On the iPod's Music screen, select those playlists under Playlists.  When you click Apply, the songs in your selections sync to the iPod.  Going forward, to update your iPod, update those playlists in your iTunes library (add/remove songs).  The iPod does not need to be connected.  The next time the iPod is connected (or when you click Sync if already connected), iTunes updates the iPod with the same changes automatically.

  • Windows reinstall and itunes saying my ipod is sync'd with the old itunes.

    Hi folks.
I suffered a catastrophic failure with with PC and was forced to reinstall XP afresh - everything backed up so no big issue.
I have my ipod library on a flash stick (it's quicker, and safer should your machine fall over!).
I reinstalled itunes, authorised the machine and pointed it to the existing music library on the flash stick. All easy enough.
The problem I now have is that when I try to sync the ipod I get a message saying that the ipod is sync'd to another machine.
Is there a way I can get itunes to accept my ipod and sync without having to change the ipod setting to "manual - use as disc". This isn't the first time I've encountered this problem following a system reinstall. The last time this happened (about 18months ago) and I allowed itunes to erase and reinstall my music library to it I lost all the play lists.
    thanks

Can't tell you exactly, as it can be used to facilitate piracy and Apple blocks this sort of thing from occuring (except for itunes purchased music)
But you can find out what your looking for at iLounge, i'd suggest that method for "mixed" music from different sources, that way you get it all back.
Next time, hit the iTunes menu and backup your library to disks, only takes a few minutes and a few DVD-R's.
    Good Luck

  • IF I RESET MY IPOD WILL I LOOSE ALL THE MUSIC AND PICTURES UP LOADED

PLEASE LET ME KNOW ..... I AM BEGININ TO THINK THIS IPOD VIDEO WAS NOT A GOOD I DEA I CANT HEAR MY MUSIC AT ALL CUASE IT DOES NOT PLAY JUST STAY IDDLE ON SONG THAT I PIC W/ ALBUM PIC AND SONG DESCRIPTON...... WHAT SHOULD I DO

Restting the iPod (Press and hold Select and Menu for ~10 seconds) will not erase anything ffrom the iPod.
Restoring will erase everything on theiPod.
But since you have everything in iTunes, you can reload it.

  • Is there a simpler way of erasing all the music from my iphone other than erasing all data and content?

Having issues with the music player on my iphone 5, i have restored it but want to erase all my music off my iphone and start again from scratch, how do i do this without erasing all the content off my phone?

Launch iTunes and plug you device into your computer. Select your device from the menu on the left and then in the window that opens select the Music Tab at the top. In the window that opens uncheck the Sync Music checkbox and then click Sync button in the low right side of iTunes. After the sync is complete your music will no longer be on the device.
    Hope that helps.

  • My old computer died so I can not access it. My ipod classic still has all the music and stuff on it. Can I transfer it to my new computer?

How do I get me music and stuff from my Ipod to my new computer without having access to my old one???

Yes. Install iTunes, enable the iPod for it, authorize the PC and sync. iTunes should copy all files to library.
    Nope, doesn't work that way.
Copy the media from the old computer or the backup of the old computer.
    iDevices are not backups.
You can transfer iTunes purchases from an iDevice to an iTunes library, but attempting to sync to a new, empty library will wipe the content on the iDevice.
