Itunes version 9.2 wont install

Everytime i try to install itunes 9.2 a message box pops up saying "the feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable." than it says cant install and tries to download it again and dies the same thing.

many thanks.
These sorts of msi-related troubles have gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for *at least version 3.0* of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing iTunes 9.2 again. Does the install go through properly this time?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

That one's consistent with disk/file damage. The first thing I'd try with that is running a disk check (chkdsk) over your C drive.
XP instructions in the following document: How to perform disk error checking in Windows XP
Vista instructions in the following document: Check your hard disk for errors
Windows 7 instructions in the following document: How to use CHKDSK (Check Disk)
Select both Automatically fix file system errors and Scan for and attempt recovery of bad sectors, or use chkdsk /r (depending on which way you decide to go about doing this). You'll almost certainly have to schedule the chkdsk to run on startup. The scan should take quite a while ... if it quits after a few minutes or seconds, something's interfering with the scan.
Does the chkdsk find/repair any damage? If so, can you get an install to go through properly afterwards?

    Hello lindsay106,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For more information on this, take a look at:
iTunes 11.1.4 for Windows: Unable to install or open
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5376
    Check for .dll files
Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using the Microsoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.
    Best of luck,
    Mario

  • ITunes on Win 7 wont install

    Hi guys.
I downloaded the latest iTunes and it wont install.
Im running Win 7 Ultimate 64bit. When i downloaded the 64bit version i got a msg saying that its not a valid win32 app????
I then downloaded it again with the same issue.
When i installed a earlier version that i used on my 32bit system it worked but i cant rip my cd's.
    Ayn ideas??

    Hello;
I also had trouble installing iTunes on Windows 7, but 32 bit.
It looks like maybe you are trying to install iTunes 64 bit on 32 bit machine or version of Windows, as it is looking for a valid Win32 app?
You might want to verify the version of Windows you are running, and whether your machine is correctly configured for 64 bit.
Here is an account of my trouble, and my suggestions for installing iTunes on any Windows 7 machine:
First, I found that the setup would freeze when it was almost done. The last screen, the progress bar would freeze about 3/4 of the way through.
I found that, after stopping the process in Task Manager, that iTunes was installed, and ran properly. So, it was only the install program that had frozen, after it had completely installed iTunes.
I did run the setup in compatibility mode for Vista SP2, and ticked the run as admin box.
I think that there are issues with iTunes (32 and 64 bit) on Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit) but Apple doesn't seem to want to address this. I have yet to see an acknowledgment from Apple on this problem.
    What I recommend, is this:
Before attempting to install iTunes, create a system image (not just a restore point) so that you can restore your system if and when iTunes messes up your system.
Make sure you are logged into your computer as admin or a user that has admin privs.
Run the iTunes setup program with the "run this program as administrator" box ticked.
Try running with compatibility for Vista SP2.

  • ITunes will download but wont install on windows 7 64-bit computer.

I got this computer a few weeks ago and first thing i tried to install was iTunes off of the apple site and it wont install.
i can download the setup file to my computer and save to my documents but when i right click and click run as administrator, a loading sign will appear for two seconds then disappear... i need iTunes on this computer since it wouldnt install on my old laptop. i've even tried installing on safe mode and nothing. i just want iTunes on my computer.. any help?

Same issue here and unfortanetly no one yet has an answer...

  • HT1923 itunes has stoped and wont install on my laptop

it has gone funny and wont install on my new laptop

That's a rarer variation on this sort of problem.
    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
    (3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
    (4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Apple Mobile Device Support entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
    (5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • Trying to install iTunes 10.5 but wont install and it just seems to hang for several hours and do nothing.  Need help cos otherwise I cant update to iOS5 on my Iphone 4.  Thx

I have tried many times today to install iTunes 10.5 in order to update to iOS5 on my Iphone 4 however it just wont work.  I have a MacBook Pro and when I use the software update it says that I have already downloaded iTunes 10.5 but when I go to install it and it says it is writing the files and the bluw bar is working its way across the page and then becomes very very slow and and at the last millimetre it seems to just hang there and do nothing.  I even left if like this for several hours and nothing progressed.  I have since tried to update via the iTunes program and the same problem happens.  Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.
    Success,
    Peter

  • ITunes 7.3.2 Wont Install, PLZ HELP!!!

After I have tried to run the setup from the download page, my computer (with SP2) opens a message box asking me to Run or Don't Run the unverified software. I click Run, and an error pops up saying C:\Documents and Settings\Kyle\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content IE.5\E0YKLO1C\iTunesSetup[1].exe is not a valid Win32 Application.
Then I have to click "Ok" and the whole process just ends right there.

  • Itunes 7.0.2 wont install because of this error..

i have recently been given an ipod nano (2nd generation). i previously had a mini ipod and itunes always worked fine with it. but now when trying to download the latest itunes for my nano i get the following error:
HKEYLOCALMACHINE\Software\classes\QuickTime.QuickTime\CLSID. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
i already have quicktime on my computer so i dont see why theres a problem, i thought it may help if i deleted it but nothing changed..has anyone got a solution? it would be much appreciated
      Windows XP

make sure that you have administrative priviledges on your computer to change information used on your computer. if you can, log ino the account that itunes was originally installed on, that way you can uninstall the itunes and reinstall it again and you shouldnt get that error again. hope this helps!

  • Itunes 7 and quicktime wont install

I tried EVERYTHING on the available list of things to try that I found on the message board. please help!

  • Newest version of flash wont install

I keep trying to downlaod the newest version of flash but when i click to install I get a popup that says "can't create a temporary file. maybe your hard disk is full".  I have plenty of space on my hard disk though. Any ideas what the issue is?

Try using the offline ActiveX installer http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_ax.exe (save it to disk). Close all browser windows, re-run the previously downloaded uninstaller, then the installer.
    Did that work?

  • ITunes 7.0.2. wont install because Quicktime wont install

I've been trying to install iTunes 7.0.2 on my computer for WEEKS but the installation always encountered a problem: the programme always stopped just as it was computing Sapce requirements for Quicktime. An error message saying "Invalid drive: U:/" appeared and then "Cannot install QuickTime. ITunes requires Quicktime" or something like that. And then the installation aborted. There isnt a drive U: on my computer and I didn't understand why this was occuring.
My brother had been suffering from a similar problem, whereby installation always failed under the same circumstances only asking for a (valid) network path on another computer of his (it asked for //Computer/My Documents instead of U:) He managed to solve the error by connecting to the network path and re-running the installer.
The solution to my problem was much the same. I got a USB flashdrive, plugged it in an using the Disk Manager
(Start>Settings>Control Panel>Administrative Tools>Computer Management>Disk Manager Right click on the USB disk and select Change Drive letter) created a disk U:
    Problem solved.

I'm trying to figure out if this was a problem with my computer or something to do with the iTunes 7.0.2 installer.
My computer met all the system requirements (256RAM, 500MHz processor - I actually installed extra RAM to see if it would solve the problem!) when the problem was occuring. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?

  • New version of NSU wont install on vista

Just keeps saying windows installer has encountered a problem and will close. Tried uninstalling all Nokia Apps, reinstalling, uninstalling, doing a registry clean, reinstalling , still get the same thing. Any ideas anyone

I would use Microsoft CleanUp Utility to clean up all the files you have probably all over your PC from previous iTunes. Go into Add/Remove programs and uninstall iTunes.
Next, go to the Apple site, and download the new iTunes. But FIRST, turn OFF your antivirus and firewall programs (as they tend to bungle up the download and install of iTunes and Quicktime), save it to your desktop or Harddrive and install it from there instead of running it over the internet. Come back if you have more questions or problems. Good Luck,
    Rachyl
