Photoshop elements 12 will not open from desktop

Downloaded adobe pse 12 from disc and it will not open from shortcut. new computer and program.

I have tried and failed. It was loaded from disc just purchased at Best buy. It loaded fine but will not start up at all. I have looked for the launch program and tried other methods but no success yet.

PDF FILES WILL NOT OPEN FROM DESKTOP

ADOBE READER WILL NOT OPEN A PDF FILE FROM THE DESKTOP ON MY MAC PRO.
It works when opened in Safari but I get the following messages when trying to open from the desktop.

Deleting the files "AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin" and "AdobePDFViewer.plugin" worked BUT then Safari couldn't display pdf files embedded on web pages.
I found putting "AdobePDFViewerNPAPI.plugin" back fixed the display problem.
What I didn't know was that now when viewing a pdf, there is the pdf menu that becomes visible when mousing to the bottom of a page on the displayed pdf. Using it instead of the old Safari method for saving pdf's on web pages solved my problem.

Thanks. I read that link before posting here but I wasn't able to do the first part because iTunes will not ever open for me to start it in Safe mode.
Since I posted yesterday, "something" I did must have worked (but I don't know what exactly because I think I didn't do anything). But iTunes just randomly appeared on the system tray yesterday afternoon. It wouldn't open by clicking on it, so I tried to Ctl-Alt-Del to close it, thinking I'd at least get some errors to view in the log, but then about a half hour after I had tried to close it through Ctl-Alt-Del, it actually opened. It still doesn't recognize my iPhone 4S though. If I get that to start working I'll update again.

ITunes will NOT open from shortcut, cannot be updated to newer versions!

So I haven't changed computers and I'm pretty sure I hadn't uploaded a new version of iTunes when this happened, but...
One day it just wouldn't open from the shortcuts (like on the desktop and the start bar). It took me forever to realize it still opens when I go directly to its source and click on it, but it still gives me this box:

If I click Retry, it just keeps opening the same window over and over. So then I click Cancel and get:

Thank you to Polydorus! I was disheartened to see that the person posting the question wasn't getting results, but I thought I'd try the first round of easy suggestions provided by Polydorus.
1. I did a disk check (see right-click c drive, etc.). this found no problems, so no solution
2. I did the following: "The try a repair install of iTunes. (Find iTunes in Add/Remove programs and select change>>repair.)" This did it's magic! the warning which included "...If you want itunes to be able to retrieve CD information from the Internet, you need to reinstall it" no longer appears. I recommend anyone with this warning popping up each time you open itunes on a windows machine give this a try.

Photoshop CC not opening from desktop icon

Photoshop CC installed on PC running Windows 7 and appears as app pinned to task bar. The application will open normally when opened via Lightroom photo editing, but when attempting to open from the task bar, it just brings up dailogue box, which shows it is installed and up to date, but nowhere to click to launch. Right clicking and 'run as administrator' brings me to the same dailogue box.

It sounds like that's the adobe creative cloud application instead the photoshop cc shortcut.
Is the icon red?
If you go to your Start>All Programs menu, do you see the photoshop cc shortcuts near the top of the menu?

Itunes will not open on Desktop PC.

My daughters new ipod need to be restored to factory settings. Ikeep getting the message make sure that the network settings are correct and your network connections are active. I have checked and they are all ok. Can anyone suggest anything else? I have copied the diagnostic here as well if it helps. Many thanks.

The first thing that the restore process does is launch a network download session from the apple servers to get the firmware file.
I would suggest that any firewal software you have installed is not blocking this access.
Also do know that many people probably got iPods for christmas... Therefore the iTunes servers could be busy and not responding to the download request... You can wait and see if it goes away later when they might not be as busy... Or you can just try disabling your firewall software to see if that is indeed the case.
I don't think it's the device, but limited to the problem of not being able to contact the update servers to get the file... Thus the network connection error.
Regular websites may work due to the fact that they've been allowed by the firewall already, or not as busy.
Hope that helps troubleshoot something for you!

ITunes will not open - hangs up every time

I am running os x 10.8.5, on a mac book pro 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo.
iTunes will NOT open and run. It starts up, then hangs, nonresponsive, every single time.
NOTE - I already reinstalled iTunes, to no avail.

Let's try a repair install of iTunes.
Restart the PC first.
If you're using Vista or 7, now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select "iTunes" and then click "Repair".
If you're using XP, head into your Add or Remove Programs control panel, select "iTunes", and click "Change". Select "Repair" and click "Next" as per the following screenshot:

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

If you're using firefox, for some reason itunes will not download and I don't know if using googlechrome will also have problems,so just to be sure that it will work on your first try, use internet explorer when you download itunes.
