ITunes won't install in Windows 8.1

I Clicked Download iTunes after selecting it for Windows 8, 64 bit. A new screen came up, thanking me for downloading iTunes, and describing all its features. That's great, but where is the download? I don't get an error message, I get nothing. What can I do to install iTunes on my PC?

Try downloading an installer from the Apple website using a different web browser:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you use Firefox instead of IE for the download (or vice versa), do you get a working installer?

iTunes had been working on Windows 7 but then, after I unintsalled some apparently unrelated programs, it couldn't load up.  I've downloaded the iTunes installation file and tried to install or repair 3 times but keep getting a message that a required component is not installed (-45075).  I've tried 2 installation files and I've uninstalled before installing again.  But I keep getting the same thing:  the program appears with the warning popup box in front, and if I click O.K. or cancell the box, the program disappears.

I've downloaded the iTunes installation file and tried to install or repair 3 times but keep getting a message that a required component is not installed (-45075).
Just in case the component being referenced is not part of iTunes but is rather part of one of the other related programs, it might be worth trying a complete uninstall/reinstall of iTunes and related componentry, as per the following troubleshooting document:

  • ITunes won't install on Windows Vista? 32 bit

I have Windows Vista (the 32 bit) and after I got an iPhone I tried to sync it to my iTunes. But it said I needed a later version of iTunes (I had version 9.something). So after I downloaded iTunes 10.2.22 or whatever, whenever I tried to open iTunes I got a message that said, "ITunes did not install correctly". I uninstalled and did it again, only to get the same message. Help?

  • ITunes Won't Install On Windows Vista

    Hi,
About a year ago, I had iTunes on my Windows Vista 32-bit SP2 computer and then I switched to Mac, so I uninstalled iTunes on my Windows Vista computer thinking I wouldn't need it anymore.
Now I want to install iTunes again on it but, I keep getting this error message: There is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run. Contact your support personnel or package vendor.
At this point I really don't know what to do.
    Thanks.

  • Issue Solved: Itunes won't install on windows

Hey all, I have a windows computer running windows 7 and have been unable to install itunes on it. I tried all of the help site tips on the apple site and they didnt help. I had an error message 7 (windows error 193).
They said this was an issue with the dynamic link library (.dll) the solution fixed my itunes issue but they told me it may interfere with another program (but that hasn't happened yet and it's an easy fix if it does)
    1. Go to your C: drive under "My computer"
    2. select the "System 32" file.
    3. find the "msvcr100.dll" item: it was a ways down but you need this exact one.
    4. when you find it- click and drag it to your desk top.
    5. a warning will pop up- ignore it.
    6. itunes fixed!
if you run into problems with another prgram now, just put this "msvcr100.dll" back in the system 32 file. Apparently it's just an old .dll from windows that hasn't been fixed.
    Thanks all!
    Luke

I've seen this question asked a few times but it hasn't really been answered.
I am running Windows 8 and had a problem syncing my iPhone 4s to my iTunes so decided to uninstall and reinstall. Now when i try to install I'm geting the error "This App can't run on your pc".
I've tried to run as administrator, open using windows 7 configurations and nothing. Same error.
My windows updates are all up to date and I'm trying to install the latest 64bit version of itunes.

I've been trying to install itunes 10.6 so i can synchronize it with my iphone 4 but  Windows doesnt let me becouse a package is missing. It will only let me instal up to itunes 10.4 which doesnt work with my iphone 4.

i couldnt find the ASU, when i tried to install it gives me the same missing package message.
If you're using XP, go into your Add or Remove programs control panel. Can you see Apple Software Update in the list of programs? if so, select Apple Software Update, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
If you're using Vista or Windows 7, go into your Uninstall a program control panel. Can you see Apple Software Update in the list of programs? If so, select Apple Software Update and click "repair".
If you were able to repair, and ASU now appears under "All Programs" in the Start Menu, try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Perhaps first try a complete uninstall/reinstall as per the following document:

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
