I'd call iTunes support and ask them. It's possible that the store is attempting for preauthorization beyond whats on the card (In other words, verifying that the car is worth $50 let's say when the card is only worth $25)

Downloaded iTunes 11, now the store won't load

I've tried doing system updates and re-downloading the program several times. My music and everything else outside the store works, but when I try to open the iTunes Store, the progress bar goes about halfway and then turns back into the Apple and leaves me with just a blank white screen. I don't get any kind of error message either. It's not my internet connection because it's working fine in all of my browsers and this problem has been going on for over 24 hours. I've tried all of the quick fix methods that usually solve problems like this, and now I don't know what to do. I even tried downloading the older version of iTunes to get it back but that didn't work either because I guess my files have been converted to work on the newest version or something so the old version won't even open at all. I now have the new iTunes 11 back and the store is still doing the same thing. Help.

I just bought $150 worth of iTunes cards that the store won't let me use

This is perhaps a common problem -- I don't know. My Bride bought me a 30GB iPod a few years ago. Cayman Islands are disallowed from using the iTunes Store, for whatever the reason. I'm not an angry man, just frustrated. I called a few locations in the U.S., and they assured me that I could purchase an iTunes gift card, redeem it and be on my way to happiness by buying music. I love my iPod, but it needs more than just my owned CDs on it.
I've just spent the past two hours trying to redeem my $150.00 in iTunes gift cards, and I can't get past the menu that requires my credit card number (which I'm more than willing to give) because it's an out-of-U.S. Mastercard. Please help, I'm begging you.
I refuse to use illegal torrents, no matter what the outcome. It's theft. I just want to buy new music -- preferrably hard-driving rock/metal with the dollars I've shelled out. I'm 52 years old. How is an aging rocker to survive without a means to get new music? Tool has a new album I want (new to me). Please help. I'm at my wit's end. Is the Cayman Islands really considered so seditious that we can't participate? I'm a U.S. citizen.

Go to the main iTunes store screen.
Go to the very bottom right of thes creen and click flag/marble icon.
Select the US store.
Instead of selecting *Create account*, select Redeem.
Input the card number then select Create new account (unless you already have an iTunes account then use that).
If these iTunes gift cards are from the US, you need to create a US iTunes account with a US address.

Itunes not connecting with store & won't update iphone 4

First, please don't tell me to look through the archives, because I already did and can't find a solution. If you have 5 hours to search for me, please do so and let me know what thread the answer is in.
After the second to last itunes update (back in July/August, maybe?), itunes would not connect to the store. When I went to update my iphone to the latest software, it would start backing up and then stay there forever. When the next (latest) itunes update popped up a few weeks ago, I was thrilled because I thought the problem would be solved. No dice.
I've uninstalled, reinstalled, and updated. The only thing I haven't done is downgraded but that is because one, I can't find an old version of itunes, and two, I read in other threads this didn't work anyway. I've deauthorized and reauthorized my computer. That didn't work. I can't sync, update, or back up my iphone.
Does anyone have any other advice???

PS I just noticed that somehow I DO have the latest version of the iOS, but not sure how this happened since the iphone never connected with itunes.

Had some time at lunch to work on this issue. On my Win 7 PC I noticed the Apple USB drive had an ! mark on it in the device manager. I right clicked on it and updated driver software. I picked the automatically search for new driver. Now it works.

ITUNES music store won't open

After doing a clean install on my mac mini, the only problem is with ITunes. The music store won't open, states to make sure my internet connection is open and active, which it is.

The iTunes store seems to be stuggling a bit today under the weight of demand. Uninstalling itunes and installing won't help. Use patience, try later...

In previous versions i had no problems but with the new 11.1.1.1.0 version i can not get updates. If i go to Help -> Check for Updates and click next i get an error that JDev can not connect to the Internet. If i click cancel the details link shows the following error stack:

All other internet traffic is no problem and the previous jdev release can connect without a problem. If i add www.oracle.com to my /etc/hosts file i does work but then i can not login to otn in the next steps. Any ideas?

Initially your music should be in your iTunes library on your computer. Once match completes its scan, your music will have been matched or uploaded. I suggest that you add iCloud status column to song view. This will tell you what has been matched, uploaded, purchased, inelligible, duplicate or waiting. What is the status of your tracks that are not playing.
If space is not an issue, I suggest that you keep the music on the internal hard drive otherwise you can delete the tracks and play from cloud. In both instances, you should maintain a back up of all your music on a separate hard drive.

By the way, i have new Mac Mini. when i select full screen arrows, it will only show plain /blank white screen with audio.

I rented a movie through iTunes and it downloaded but won't play.

I rented a movie through iTunes and it downloaded but won't play. It is present in the videos app but doesn't load the picture for the movie. When I go to play it, it just opens and then closes. There is an iCloud icon that suggests the movie has not Been downloaded and when I click it it says that the movie has already been rented but not downloaded and that I need to go to downloads to manage it. It is not present in my iTunes download page however. And when I go to rent it again all I get is a watch button that directs me back to the videos app with no way to watch it.

If you are not able to play or download a movie rental on your iPad, first restart your device:
Restarting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Note: Reset your device only if you are unable to restart it.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
Find the item that is not playing properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the item, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
