ITunes won't sync certain photos from same roll to iPhone.

Okay here is the deal. Sometimes after importing photos from the iphone's camera roll, iphoto crashes during the process of deleting the images off the iphone. It usually happens halfway through deleting, so there will be a few photos left on the camera roll that have already been imported. I then manually delete those images from the phone.
Whenever I program itunes to sync the last 6 months of photos from iphoto to my iphone, it ALWAYS leaves out the images that I had to delete manually from the phone. This is driving me crazy. It doesnt give any error messages, nothing. It's just seems like business as usual until I get on my phone, go to the photos and see that all the photos aforementioned simply didn't sync.
I go back to iphoto and make sure that the images are there, and they are. I've even gone so far as to take the photos that won't sync, place them in a whole new album and sync. That works. They go into that album and show up on the phone effortlessly. But I can't really do that because there are literally hundred to thousands of photos like that throughout the last 6 months in my iphoto. I don't know which are which.
I have tried deleting the ipod photo cash folder in iphoto, but that didn't work either. It simply resized the last 6 months all over again, synched to phone and STILL left out any photos that were imported into iphoto, but not deleted by due to a crash, and manually deleted from phone by myself.
If anyone could help me with this nightmarish problem, I would be VERY happy.
Thanks a lot, Luke.
Rest In Peace Mr. Jobs. Thank you for making the world a better place.

Apply the two fixes below in order as needed:
Fix #1
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down and rebuild the library.
2 - run Option #4 to rebuild the database.
Fix #2
Using iPhoto Library Manager  to Rebuild Your iPhoto Library
1 - download iPhoto Library Manager and launch.
2 - click on the Add Library button, navigate to your Home/Pictures folder and select your iPhoto Library folder.
3 - Now that the library is listed in the left hand pane of iPLM, click on your library and go to the File ➙ Rebuild Library menu option.
4 - In the next  window name the new library and select the location you want it to be placed.
5 - Click on the Create button.
Note: This creates a new library based on the LIbraryData.xml file in the library and will recover Events, Albums, keywords, titles and comments.  However, books, calendars, cards and slideshows will be lost. The original library will be left untouched for further attempts at fixing the problem or in case the rebuilt library is not satisfactory.

Itunes will not sync. my photos from my Iphoto library
When I try to sync photos to my iPod (80gb video Ipod) it gives me the error "The iPod cannot by synced. The required file cannot be found." Does anyone know what file this is and why it cannot find it? Thanks for any help.

I asked the same question last February and got no help from Apple and a well intentioned but not so useful reply from a fellow Mac user.
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=843093&tstart=0
However, when switching to a new MacBook Pro, I observed what happened and found out the root of the problem.
When you tell iTunes to sync your iPod with your iPhoto Library, it creates a folder called "iPod Photo Cache" at >User>Pictures>iPhoto Library, which depending on the size of your iPhoto library, or how many pics you want to sync with iTunes, it can be huge! (1,600+ pics created a 1Gb+ folder).
The solution is obvious: just delete that folder and let these applications create a new one next time you instruct iTunes to sync your photos. To be sure, next time you open iTunes after you throw away that folder, uncheck the iPhoto option, close iTunes, make sure the folder is gone, and then, when you open iTunes again with your iPod connected, check it again having made sure that the pesky folder is not there and iTunes (or iPhoto, who knows) will create a fresh one.
By the way, iPod Photo Cache folders are created all over the place! Do a Spotlight search in your hard drive and you will be amazed about how many you will find!
    Good luck! Hope it works!

  • Itunes won't sync my photos

    Hi
I have upgraded to iphone 6 and am trying to sync everything to the new phone. Have updated it to 8.0.2. I have set up the phone from an iCloud backup and then am looking to sync music and photos from iTunes (11.4). I have a Mac and want to sync all photos from iPhoto.
Music worked fine first time (about 4000 songs).
Photos didn't - there are just under 7000 photos in total - each event and album from iPhoto is now showing on my phone but 0 photos. iTunes shows:
Syncing Genius Data to "Dave's iPhone" (Step 5 of 5)
    Waiting for items to copy
    And just sticks there.
First time this happened, I cancelled the sync and followed the Apple suggestion of setting photos to don't sync, and then syncing, but the shells of events and albums remain. I've tried resyncing with photos set to yes and no change. I have restarted the mac and the phone, nothing doing.
    Any advice gratefully received!
    Thanks
    Dave

OK have found the answer myself!
It seems my phone was still restoring from iCloud backup - even though it was hours after I thought it had finished. I saw this when I woke the phone up and it said at the bottom of the screen in tiny writing.
So, I waiting for that to finish/disappear, and then ran a test on 1 photo album - success. Now doing the same on my entire iPhoto contents and fingers crossed it appears to be working  - running through 'Copying photos' as I type this.

  • How to delete large numbers of photos from Camera Roll in Iphone 4S

I want to delete large numbers of photos from Camera Roll.  Do I have to do it one at a time?

if you do it on the phone, yes - one by one.
if it is really many photos: connect phone to your computer. open digital images. import all your photos to a folder of your choice, tick 'delete after import'. import. now your photos are gone on your phone, and inside the destination folder you selected in digital images. delete this one, too. done.

  • Ipad won't sync with photos from Aperture - library cannot be found

Ok I give up. When trying to sync my photos onto my new ipad from Aperture in iTunes I keep getting the message "iTunes cannot sync photos to the ipad because your Aperture Library could not be found. Open the preferences window in Aperture and enable the preference to share previews with other applications. Well the library is where it should be in the Home folder and then pictures. I have the latest version of iTunes and Aperture. The only similar setting I can find in Aperture preferences is under Previews and Share Previews with ilife and iwork, no mention of itunes?
I've gone into my Aperture show contents and deleted the cache folder ipod photo cache (I previously synced to my iphone 3GS). It works syncing to iphoto, as I have tested it and the iphoto is in the same folder as the Aperture library so they are in the right location.
I am now at a loss as to what to try next......PLEASE HELP ME....
I don't want to have to have a Aperture library and an iphoto library on the go!

    Hi,
iTunes cannot sync photos to the ipad because your Aperture Library could not be found.
If you have an external drive connected to your Mac, disconnect that, restart your Mac, restart your iPad and try syncing photos from Aperture.

  • ITunes won't sync all photos in album

I've got an iPhoto album with 280 photos in it. iTunes will only sync 10 of those photos - any ideas or solutions appreciated. iTunes nor iPhoto is displaying any error messages during sync.
Im trying to sync to an iPad2 with OSX 10.7 through iTunes 10.4.
    Thanks, Paul

I managed to solve this myself - not sure how exactly, but I did the following -
deleted 'albumdata.xml' and 'albumdata2.xml' from the iPhoto library
deleted the iPod photo cache from the iPhoto library
reopened iPhoto which recreated the albumdata xml files
synced the iPad to remove all photos
synced the iPad to add all the selected photo albums
Weird process but fixed my problems.

  • ITunes won't sync all photos

Well, i keep my iPhone photos backuped on my mac with iPhone and delete them from my camera roll after the download.
I have now 524 photos/videos in the library and thats what it says in iTunes too, but whenever I sync my device there are only 432 photos on my iPhone.
It is really frustrating, because I want to have all my photos with me on my iPhone all the time.
    What to do?
Is it a problem of my iPhone or my Mac or even with the photos/videos in my library?

  • ITunes won't transfer certain songs from iPhone

I recently got a new desktop computer and downloaded iTunes. I synced my iPhone all up and then realized only about 600/800 of my songs were actually imported to my iTunes library before I checked "Sync Music" on my iPhone through iTunes. So I manually selected "Transfer purchases" but all it did was download all the iTunes-purchased songs, rather than all of my songs from my iPhone to iTunes library. I realized that most (if not all) of the songs that hadn't been transferred to my iTunes were externally purchased items (songs from CDs or direct files from my computer). I can't find any posts or articles on how to fix this, but there must be a way to accomplish this. It really shouldn't be necessary to re-download and import 200+ songs into my library from CDs and files (which would involve finding out and going through each and every song that hadn't transferred to iTunes from my phone) when they should already be there. If I check sync music, that means iTunes will erase all the songs on my phone and replace them with the ones in the iTunes library (which I also hate). iTunes should transfer all files when you sync your iPhone because that is the exact purpose of iTunes, not just manage Apple-bought items specifically. I really want to fix this ASAP so my phone can be synced up. Thanks.

If you are talking about the System Preferences folder, then no the TB display doesn't show up in Sound under the Hardware folder.
As I said I was referring to Audio MIDI Setup in your Utilities folder.  Execute it and see if the display audio is listed there.  I'm guessing it won't but check anyhow.
Did you try the smc and pram resets?

  • ITunes won't sync all photos across from iPhoto to my iPad, either when using 'all photos' or manually selecting the events. All the rest sync normally

Can anyone suggest a workround or reason why I can't sync a batch of about 300 photos in 5 events on consecutive days across from iPhoto 09 to my iPad 2? All the rest (>1000 frames mainly before and some after) go over, including some shot on the same digital camera (before and after). I've tried using 'all photos' and also manually selecting the events individually, they won't go. An album containing some of these photos goes across without them included, and converting the whole album on iPhoto to a movie and then dropping that into my videos won't go either. I've cleared the sync history as advised by the support line, and all software is updated. Loads of room on the iPad

Started having the same issue with my iPad 2 just this week. Tried deleting the iPod Photo Cache, disabling then re-enabling photo sync through iTunes, but keep getting the error: "Some of your photos, including the photo “XXX.jpg”, were not copied to the iPad “XXX” because they cannot be displayed on your iPad." This is with iOS 4.3.5, iTunes 10.4, and Mac OS 10.7 Lion.
Interestingly enough, I have no issues syncing the same exact set of photos to my iPhone 4 (also running 4.3.5). This seems to be an iPad-only issue.

  • ITunes won't sync my photo events properly

I have recently organized all my photos in iphoto by event and when I connect my iphone 4 or ipad 2 to itunes the albums are scattered and separated. As an example, in iphoto I have one album for my wallpapers but when I go into itunes to select that album to sync to my device I see several albums titled wallpapers. This has occurred to at least half of my events and I can't go into itunes and simply select that one event to sync on my devices. I have current software across the board, I just bought a new macbook pro and transferred everything from my previous macbook, and in iphoto I see only single events just the way I made them. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

  • I just updated iPhoto, now iTunes won't sync my photos with my iPhone.

Earlier today I was able to sync photos just fine.
Then I updated iPhoto via the Mac App Store.
I connected my iPhone and got this error message from iTunes:
iTunes could not locate a supported photo application. Would you like to change your photo syncing options?
After I updated iPhoto and opened it, I had to upgrade my library. Could this be the problem? What do I do now? Apple Software Update doesn't show a newer version of iTunes available.
    iTunes 10.6.3, iPhoto 9.3, OS X 10.7.4

That can sometimes indicate a photo cache issue. If you remove the current ipod photo cache, does that get you past the error?
For instructions on where to find it, see the following document:

  • ITunes won't sync Nef files from Nikon D5300

iTunes will sync Nef files nicely from my Nikon D5100 but not the new D5300. D5300 a new sensor configuration, even the Nikon software needed an update to work with D5300 nef.  iTunes probably needs an update or even better use the windows codec Nikon provides.  It's on my machine but apparently not used by iTunes.

Nor will iPhoto at the time of writing import NEF files.  I am assuming there will be a firmware update in the next week or so (hopefully)

  • ITunes won't sync all of my songs to my iPhone 4S

When I sync to my iPhone 4S, it won't allow my to manually manage the music. The box can be checked, but other than that, nothing happens. On my phones music section, there are no options, other than voice memos, so I can't drag music to it. When I sync my iTunes, it syncs to iCloud only part of my library, and I am forced to download what I want to permanently reside on my iPhone from the iCloud. However, not all of my library is available. How do I get the rest of my songs there? Supposedly, iMatch was the solution, but it did nothing.

Is the music in question selected to sync?
