Itunes-wont download updater!
Hi, Getting bit annoyed, as each time I connect ipod to my comp with itunes open, itunes message pops up; 'A new ipod software version (3.1.1) is available for the ipod' and each time I agree to download-it downloads up to around 21% and freezes...I cannot seem to transfer any new songs over to the ipod at the moment-and believe its because I need this download-what can I do? (Ive tried reinstalling itunes, and reconnecting the ipod)

just checking. are you running the install "on-line" or are you downloading and saving to your hard drive, and running the installation from there?
what web browser are you using for the download?

Had exact same problem. Rang Apple support and various apple repairers. All of them said in effect, too bad, you'll have to lose everything since your last backup. It's a work phone with very important stuff on it and the latest backup was on a computer that had a virus. Convergence of crap :/
Happened to talk to a friend who said to try replacing the battery. Did that. Problem fixed. All data saved.
To all Apple support people: rather than say 'once it's in recovery mode you lose all data' try saying 'replace your battery and see if that works first'!!!! -
Itunes wont download because I dont have 10.6.8 or greater. But I just installed the snowlion disk thing and my macbook is a 10.6.8 version so how do I get itunes to download?

It is Not available as a download... It is a Paid Upgrade.

Got a new mac today, I created my iCloud account (and therfore my Apple ID?) I tried to set up my iTunes and download updates, and it says i need to review my account, then I had to edit my Apple ID details, but said my email address was invalid???
From the information that you have provided, it sounds like your Apple ID has been disabled. You can read this to see how you can troubleshoot that issue.

You can try signing out of your ID on the iPad and sign in with his ID and see if that works.
Settings>iTunes and App Stores>Apple ID. Tap your ID and sign out. Then sign in with your husband's newly created ID. -

I'd first try experimenting with a different browser. If you've been using IE for the download, try Firefox instead (or vice versa).
If no luck there, there's some other suggestions in the following document. (You're not getting the error message, but your problem here falls into the same general class of download trouble.)

Have been using iTunes for years on laptop with windows vista (32 bit). recently started getting itunes errors such as C++ runtime library error and R6034 error. Itunes stopped working. Read the boards, I deleted itunes and other products from the trouble shooting directions (e.g., bonjour, mobile me etc), and tried to download itunes again. now itunes wont download (I have 20 MB/140MB available memory). stuck at this point - Itunes not on laptop, but cant download new itunes.....
Sorry for the delay. Tried running the fixit program (1 time via internet explorer, 1 time via firefox), the firefox attempt downloaded the fixit program, but when trying to run it I get a pop up window that indicates that the troubleshooter is not available and that the fixit program is invalid or has expired and a new website is given for the new program (same happened with the internet exploere attempt- it directed me to the same window and to the same website)......the website is:

there are several buttons to choose from and reviewed them- I found the uninstall fix that you described in the windows button. I tried to download and run the fix from both internet explorer and firefox, however after downloading, when i run the program I eventually get the same window that says that the troubleshooter is not available...... -

Helpp ITUNES wont download on my computer for some reason whn i download the newest version or any version of itunes to my computer the file shows up as itunes.mpkg and the icon is just a blank paper... any ideas what could be wrong?

Itunes will not update ios6. it downloads most of the way then i get a message which says network timed out...it hasnt. please help

I tried to update my I tunes version 7.1 it would not update. THen I unistalled tried to install with a new copy didnt work. Tried to install an old version (4 from cd) it says the .dtl something was to new and iTunes could not open. So I unistalled the (cd version) and tried to download. The download just hangs. It wont download. My ipod stays on a gray diagnostic screen and doebn't work either. HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

it was a little hard to read your post due to your grammar, but I need some more info on you in order to help.
First off, I need to know which Windows OS you are running? What antivirus and firewall programs are you running? Is iTunes and/or Quicktime installed on your PC?
Have you gone to Windows Website to download and install any new updates recently?

i am trying to download itunes 10.5 but everytime i do it downloads to 48% then it stops and wont download past this point. i have tried it a few times and i have tried going to add or delete programs in control panel and repair apple programs but it isnt working please help

1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:
