ITunes wont uninstall or Install.

When i go to uninstall itunes it isnt in the list of programs that can be uninstalled. And when i downlaod iTunes it runs the installer but when it get to the end of the installation process, i get a message that says that the current version of iTunes cannot be removed. and when i get into itunes it gives me error messages saying that iTunes components will not run. After all of the error messages iTunes will start up and it gives me the option to install the current version of iTunes, but when i run the installer it gives me a message saying that the iTunes software update has been corupted. when i go to the list of programs that can be modified it has the option to repair the iTunes software update program. i repaired it and it still does the same thing, i tried as itunes says and manually tried to update iTunes and it still didnt work. so i tried manually removing it but there wasn't and files under iTunes or Apple Computer that could be modified. I also turned on hidden files but there was nothing in the files. But yet the iTunes icon is still there and it starts up with the chain of error messages.
What cani do to fix this. i want to remove itunes and re-install it. is there anyway that i can do this?
Thanks for help that anyone can offer!

    (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
    (2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. please help.

Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64Setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • ITunes wont open or install correctly

I know this has already been posted but I'm tring to get apple to notice this and fix it.
The other day iTunes told me to upgrade so I did and when I tried opening the program it said "iTunes has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." So I tried to unistall it and reinstall and got the same message while installing but it finished the install. I still got the same error when tring to open it again so I tried reverting to an older version and still got the same problem.
I have Windows XP SP2 and don't have Norton. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Itunes wont update or install

This is a nightmare! I have had issues with each Itunes update on Windows 7, 64 bit Operating System and each issue has been different.  With the recent update I got the following message "Could not open key: UNKNOWN\Components\ random string of letters and numbers.  Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."
    I have done the following based on previous discussions;
    1.  Removed all Itunes components from my system following the Apple troubleshooting then tried to install new version;
    2. Conducted a Regedit as per https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3581, but the "Installer Folder" at step 8 isnt there.
    3. Ran a windows installer repair programme but no Apple products show up in the list.
Any other ideas?  I am about to give up and move to a Windows based device and software.

    2. Conducted a Regedit as per https://discussions.apple.com/docs/DOC-3581, but the "Installer Folder" at step 8 isnt there.
Can you post a screenshot of the left-hand column of your regedit screen showing the area you'r looking at for the "Installer" branch, please? Include all of the regedit screen, including the left-hand column. Save the screenshot to an image file, and insert the image file in a reply by clicking the wee camera icon at the top of the reply window.

Whenever I try to update iTunes I get an error message from windows saying 'iTunes64.msi' cannot be found on my computer, I have tried to remove all of iTunes through control panel but the error also comes up then.

  • Itunes wont run after install

my freind just installed itunes on his computer with no problems, but then he goes to open it and a screen appears saying itunes has encountered a problem and needs to shut down. does anyone know what is causing this? let me know if you know ANYTHING about this. thanks.

    hiya!
Itunes has encountered a problem and needs to
    close
the first thing that i check for when people report
getting that message when they try to launch
their itunes is a broken QuickTime.
try to open your QuickTime. does it launch properly,
or do you get an error message?
if you get an error message, the first thing we'll
try is a careful standalone QT 7.1 reinstall.
download and save a copy of the QT 7.1 standalone
installer to your hard drive. (we'll run the install
from there rather than online.) switch off
antivirus and antispyware applications prior to the
    install.
    Quicktime 7.1 Standalone Installer
if that install goes through okay, does your itunes
    launch properly again?
(if you get an error message on the QT standalone
reinstall, let us know what it says. include error
message numbers if you're getting any.)
    love, b
    hey
downloaded the standalone quicktimes but every time it hangs up on the trying to connect to itunes store
    thanks stickboy

  • Itunes wont update, uninstall or reinstall

so everything was fine, i had my iphone 4s and my sony vaoi laptop and then one day it tells me to update my itunes. so thats what i did, it was running the install and then a error came up saying that 'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that it unavailable' then underneath it gave me the option to go browse for where it was. it seemed to have disappeared only when the installation came about because when i quit it i found it in the exact same place that i looked when it gave me the option to 'browse'. for a month this was going on and i tried to fix it every time it offered me the installation but then it said my iphone couldnt connect to itunes anymore because itunes is not updated but how the heck do they expect me to upddate it when it just disappears?! i havent been able to update music on my phone anymore which is very annoying because that is one of the main reasons i got my iphone4s. then i looked up my problem on the internet and this person gave me a link and said uninstall itunes and reinstall it. it was called 'revo pro uninstaller' i thought it was going to work because it said it had uninstall everything to do with apple so i shut down my laptop to leave it rest. i opened it up the following day and there apple was again. for days i tried to uninstall everything to do with apple but it just wont go away. the same message as  'The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that it unavailable' then underneath it gave me the option to go browse for where it was' and then it said 'the older version of itunes wont uninstall please contact your technical support group' when i tried to uninstall it or reinstall it on my laptop. to be honest apple, samsung are looking alot of a heck better. i have never been so annoyed with a company in my life. please get your act together.
