I just bought iPod touch 8GB put it in iTune and it show only 34Mb available. and it been use up 6.2GB show from the iTune Summery as "OTHER 6.2 GB" so I don't have enoght space to sync any much application for my kids. So either you bought this second hand and it had someone else's stuff on it, or you were unlucky and the first Sync of your iPod to iTunes resulted in a lot of "Other".
Conect the iPod to iTunes and on the Device/Summary pane (tab) look for and select the Restore button. -

- Transfer other music using a thrid-part probram like ne of those discussed here:
Copy music
- Connect the iPod to the computer and make a backup by right clicking on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
- Restore the iPod from that backup. The restore will also update the iOS. -

I have tried to update OS from 4.3.5 to latest on Ipod touch but every time after 70% completing an error is prompted and say update cannot be completed. Please check the setting. My ipad recognizes my home network but will not connect to the internet. When I click on AirPort/preferences at the top of the imac screen it says..."AirPort has a self-assigned ip address and may not connect to the internet". If this is the root of the problem,how can I change ip address?
Ipad will connect no problem to other networks.First thing you need I think is to get your iMac connected to the Internet.
Shut down your iMac and you iPad. Then power off your router. Wait 30 seconds and power up the router.
After the router indicates that it is connected to the Internet then start up your iMac and see if it connects. If the iMac connects to the Internet then your iPad should too.
If this power up sequence doesn't work you'll have to dig into the router setup to make sure it is working properly. -
Just bought Ipod Touch. Do I need to pay for 2.0?
I just bought my Ipod Touch today thinking that since I am buying it after Rel 2.0 has been released, it should be included with it. However, when registering it, it still asks me if I want to upgrade/buy Rel. 2.0. Should it not be included with the new purchase?

Just Bought A Touch, But Newer Version Out Soon?
I just picked up an ipod touch a couple of days ago. My question is what happens to me if the new version of the touch comes out in September/October? Obviously newer tech & features would make me want the new one instead. Since I just bought it, is there an exchange/grace period where I can get the new version if this happens?
I got my iPod Touch a few months after it was first released I believe, now I am stuck with the old, non-speaker having, iTouch. sigh And because I got it when it was pretty much just released, and that the newer versions came out over the months, I could NOT trade it in for a new one. Which I find unfair now since my 8gb has dropped $100 in price and can even have a speaker in it.
Currently, there's rumors that they'll be an iPod Touch that'll have a camera in it.
My Advice To You: Search out tech sites, read the rumors, return your iPod (if you want), wait a couple months, buy the awesome new iPod touch that'll come out.
Can't wait for the iPhone to come to Verizon! i'll get my moneys worth. -

Both Future Shop and Best Buy Canada advertised 8/16 & 32GB iPod Touch as i.e. - "iPod touch 16GB v2" on their websites, and their fliers. I purchased my touch 3 weeks ago, so I found the "version 2's" confusing. Both retailers have removed the v2 reference from their websites and changed it to "Jan 2008 Update" (whatever that means) but I have a flier in front of me to prove the "v2" advertising. I suspect you have the original (first generation, 1G iPod those can only go to iOS 3.1.3, If your iPod does not have an internal speaker and no volume buttons on upper left edge it is a 1G.
