IWeb '09 Widgets Not Responding?

So I just recently upgraded to iLife '09 and every thing's working great except for the widgets in iWeb. I was trying to use the HTML snippet, and instead of the little box that pops up to put the actual code in, I had an empty box on the screen that didn't do anything no matter how many times I clicked on it.
I searched around and wasn't able to find anything related. Any ideas?

The solution to the problem was that iWeb had to be installed in the actual applications folder and not in a sub folder labeled iLife '09.

Try the following:
delete the iWeb preference file, com.apple.iWeb.plist, that resides in your Home() /Library/Preferences folder.
go to your Home()/Library/Caches/com.apple.iWeb folder and delete its contents.
launch iWeb and try again.

Translator Widget not responding

My Translator Widget will not respond. The language select menus say "undefined" all the time. I have tried restarting it and repairing my disk permissions, but nothing helps. It's been doing this for awhile, and, as far as I can tell, nothing happened to trigger this peculiar behavior. Please help!

Translation widget not responding

a few days ago i noticed my translation widget not working. i had it set on japanese to english, and when i noticed the non-responsiveness it was set on japanese to unidentified. i click on unidentified and it supposedly goes to english.
all the while the text entering blocks are locked and i can't type anything. any thoughts or help?

Please create a new user account and try the Translation Widget there.

Dashboard Widgets Not Responding... :(

Hello There apple guys...
well like the tittle says, mi widgets from my dashboard are not refreshing nor responding... i've tried, deleting preferences files. (both)... repaired permissions from the boot disk and nothing seems to work. when i use "killAll Dock" command on terminal, they work for at least 5 seconds. then they got froze..

The dashboard fires up OK but any widget I drag onto the screen doesn't work. e.g. the clock has no hands, calendar has no date etc .. When I close a widget it crashes the dashboard completely and I'm dumped back to the desktop.
Try creating a new user account and see if the problem occurs in that one.
When posting a crash log, you might want to remove any personal names, etc before making it public.
I don't see anything in your log, but it pays to be careful.
Your computer name in the crash log seems to have hyphens in it. It's best to have a computer name with no spaces, no special characters, etc., but that may not be the problem here, just a suggestion.
The crash seems to involve vImage and a graphic png or at least the libpng library but I don't see anything specific.
Someone else with better crashlog smarts will probably help you more.

Menu widget not responding ever 8 seconds for another 8 seconds

Hi there,
I have purchased Muse template and have build website with Muse CC (2014) (www.janka-photograhy.ch)
It's one page template with scrolling effects on it.
On every page except from "Home" I have horizontal menu widget. Now, on next page (Über mich)
menu stops responding after 8 seconds for another 7-8 seconds and then functioning normaly again for
8 seconds and so on. This only happens on "Über mich" page. On every other page (Angebot, Galerie, Kontakt)
everything works fine. Any ideas why is this happening?

P.S. Problem is arises in Firefox, but not in IE.

I can reproduce it on my Mac with Safari. Hovering across the menu, it becomes un/responsive every 7, 8 seconds.
What says the developer of your widget?
It doesn’t help, but it is a really nice site you designed!

I have 4 websites stored in iWeb o9 on a brand new MacBook Pro running all current software and updates. I publish via ftp directly to my domains. I am a Mobile Me user but I do not use this for websites. I do not have the actual files on my desktop. They are embedded in iWeb I am assuming.
Yesterday I went to open iWeb to work on a website and the program would not open. I get a 'not responding' error when I 'option-command-escape' after a lengthy period of time lapsing with no response.
I spent all day yesterday and the better part of this morning following all advice found here. Still nothing.
If i reinstall iWeb 09 from the disk that came with computer, will that erase all my sites? I have copied the 'Domain' file to my desktop just in case and have backed up using Time Machine.
If re installation does indeed wipe it clean, how then should I replace the sites/files?

Iweb-inspector causes it to "not respond"

Everytime I open iweb, and i try to use the inspector, the app freezes. I click the inspector tab and the app continues to be "not responding"
Any fix for this except the flip4mac plug-in that fixes the avi problem?

I simply had to upgrade my OS.

Another Remote DVR "STB Not Responding" Issue

I've had my FIOS install for a couple weeks now and 3-4 days ago tried to activate the Remote DVR feature. In all other respects my system is working fine. I can login to the FIOS TV Central page, see my STB in the listing, it shows that Remote DVR is enabled.
My STB works fine, records, has the guide, widgets, etc.
My computer network is also working fine. STB shows in my router control software, has a static IP (which does match the IP in the STB settings).
But no matter what I do, the TV Central site will always error with a "Set Top Box is not responding"
I've turned on and off the feature on the STB but that did not make any difference. I see in my router that there are 8 non-editable Port Forwarding rules set up, all identical.

Any thoughts here? Reading through the forums it would appear this is a somewhat common and finicky issue. Lots of folks see it and it "magically" gets better, or worse, or flip flops between.

The connection between your DVR and one of Verizon's Servers sometimes 'breaks', and in my experience, cycling the router and/or the DVR won't help. The connection needs to be reset from the Verizon end. If you call or use chat to the service people, they can usually fix it while you are online with them.
It doesn't involves wiping out anything on your DVR.
I went through this a couple weeks ago. Everything except worked, except for online, it always says the unit was not responding. I think I waited about a week before I finally ask Verizon to fix it.

Printing causes ALL apps to give "Not Responding " error

After installing the recent round of Apple software updates ( iweb, pages, numbers, iphoto, etc) anytime I try to print from any application it causes the app to go into not responding mode..... the print diolog box never appears. If I force quit the app, restart it and then print everything is fine.... for awhile... then it starts all over again for each app.... any ideas?

Your probably have a permissions problem. Open Disk Utility and run Repair Disk Permissions.
If that doesn't help, open the Printer Setup Utility, click on the application menu and select Reset Printing System. Close Disk Utility and add your printer again. Note that you may have to run your driver installer again.

IWeb RSS Widget Clone for non RSS?

I love the iWeb RSS Widget for displaying information. Does anyone know how to clone it so that you can use it with your own content that is not an RSS feed. I would love to repurpose it for use to display paragraphs of info on my site, without having to have it say loading and load the fake rss feed.

I think it's impossible. But you can display your own content in an RSS feed, it's easy to create your own RSS feed with a text editor : http://www.make-rss-feeds.com/making-an-rss-feed.htm .
And if you find it too complicated, you can use a software like [Feeder|http://reinventedsoftware.com/feeder>.

IWeb Web Widget Power

Alright so I searched and didn't really find a direct answer to my question so I figured I would add it myself as my first post.
I am creating my first webpage with iWeb and want to place a web widget like the ones I make out of safari. For example I have a widget in my dashboard that shows my Halo 3 profile stats. Is there any way to get that widget into my iWeb page?

It can be done, but you have to know how to get the data from dashboard's web clips.
It's not very straight forward, some dashboard widgets (not all) can be modified to use in a web page, have a look - the bottom three are from my web clips:

Problem with "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message

I am getting the "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" message, visiting the site on which I am working on for one client. Site is http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/
I have installed one flash widget for weathercast and imediatelly after installing I have got the message "Shockwave Flash is busy or not responding" - browser, buttons, scrolling - everything simply freeze! Few minutes just standing by, not responsive, and then eventually page start to scroll normally. Since then I changed widget position, made it to show on tour page only ( http://www.puntacanajustsafari.com/punta-cana-jeep-tour/ ) but after facing the same problems with flash thing I have removed it completely and installed one other widget and made separate page for weather information, that seems to work nicely (for now).
Problem is that I am still geting "frozen" page when visiting home page and tour page, even after clearing the page cashe and removing widget. This is happening on both browsers that I use (firefo and IE) so I am partially sure that is not a browser problem. This is first time happening to me, if somebody can figure out what to do, I would appreciate it.

Clear your browser's cache and cookies. I'm not seeing any issues in Firefox, Chrome or IE

My Iweb Ap is not opening, says not reponding. How do I open it?

I have been trying all day to get iWeb to open, it just bounces and says "Not Responding" leaving me to Force Quit. I have all the software updates, and I am losing patience fast as I need to upload some work for a client today! Any help would be appreciated!

Why can't I get my iWeb '09 widgets to publish? None of them appear on my published site, just when it's unpublished.
I'm using an FTP server, and my domain name is parked on GoDaddy.com.

What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand? While viewing the site in Safari type CommandOptionA to bring up the Activity window for the site. It will list all of the files for the site and those that are missing will be marked "not found".
If there are any missing then your ftp client is not uploading all of the files. Are you using iWeb's built in ftp client? If so try publishing to a folder on the hard drive where you can first test the site with your browser before uploading to the server. Then use a 3rd party ftp client like the free Cyberduck to upload your files.
