Iweb menu all "ghosted" except for "Close"

The subject line says it all. I don't know what's wrong, but the entire menu is "ghosted", and I can't access anything. I wanted to learn how to use iWeb, but I can't do a thing with it. Any helpful info will obviously be greatly appreciated. I'm basically a Mac newbie, and am trying to familiarize myself with all of the software that came with this amazing notebook computer.
Sooo...if anyone has any helpful hints on how to get my iWeb functional, please, please, please let me know.
Oh, FYI, I already re-installed the software, but it's still doing the same thing. This is frustrating.

This is a common problem, but usually easily fixed. Take a look at this list of ways to address it.
If none of those work, post back here. There is one other approach, but it is far more risky than anything on that list. If the first attempt doesn't do it, don't forget to try the iPhoto approach several times, and with the various programs listed.

I purchased a template online and added our content. After uploading to our server I tested with FIrefox, Safari, Chrome and IE. It works exactly as expected in all browsers except for IE. I'm sure it is a grid issue, but I am a novice web designer and don't know how to fix it. In IE there is content from the "CONTACTS" section buried at the bottom of all other sections and half of the content of the "CAPABILITES" section is totally missing.

Other than the grid problems, the drop down menu under ABOUT doesn't link to anything in IE.
Any help you can offer would be appreciated.

IE has become a serious problem generator while developing websites
The codes have to be well written and scripts have to mantain an order
Are you working on html5?
If so my suggestion is to contact the guys that you bought the template from and ask them to fix the problem
This is one of the big issues when you purschase templates online
My suggestion is that you take some time to learn to do them by yourself, its challenging but more fun and it gives a professional touch to your work

I am not sure the command to use the SID to accomplish what you want to achieve, if you only know the SID, you could take use Powershell to find the related information, more information, please check:

I tried to download firefox, but the homepage is now all blank except for the browser bar at the top!? Normally the firefox logo would be on the homepage, along with the rest of the homepage designs. Whats wrong?

When I downloaded firefox, the firefox home page was all blank, except for the browser bar at the top of the page. Normally, the logo would be on the homepage, in the center. Also, the other designs along both sides of the page are missing! What is wrong? A possible cause is security software (firewall) that blocks or restricts Firefox or the plugin-container process without informing you, possibly after detecting changes (update) to the Firefox program.
Remove all rules for Firefox from the permissions list in the firewall and let your firewall ask again for permission to get full unrestricted access to internet for Firefox and the plugin-container process and the updater process.

Block All Websites except for a few

I have a Linksys WRT54G router. I just got my 7 and 9 year old kids a computer. I need to block all websites except for about 5 - 10 websites that my wife and I let them visit. I don't think I can do this with the WRT54G router, but does anyone know how I can do it.

unfortunately, on wrt54g routers, you can only block and not allow websites.
and to block websites, you can only put up to 4 websites which is what you do not want to do. cause you said you need to block all websites except for 5-10 sites.

It's possible to make page items or regions conditional on the page not being a page number that you specify.
Head to your page 0, and look for the relevant item in your conditionals list. Select it and specify your login page number in there and all should be well!

All content except for PDF are stuck in GenWWW - IBR IS converting them..

We are having a serious issue with our UCM/IBR where all new documents except for PDF's are successfully converted (we confirmed this through IBR weblayout directory and log files) but they are never Released.
We have tried the following:
1. Reindexing
2. Rebooting both servers (including admin server)
We are using Direct PDFExport and Digital Media Graphics for conversion.
The connection status is OK and there are no errors in the logs and I can't even begin to tell you what some of this means in the trace log.
I don't usually say this but... Please help!!

Guys. It DID go through IBR. The conversion files, such as the thumbnails and web renditions for images are all being created and the trace logs in IBR even confirm that they were successfully converted. The issue is NOT that files are not being converted, it is that they are not getting released from GenWWW. We have rebuilt the Index twice and rebooted the services on each box.
Yes we are using PassThru for PDF's because there is no need to convert them. We are using Digital Media Graphics and PDFExport for the rest. This morning when we got in most of them had finally converted, but there are a few that are not, and we submitted some an hour ago and they are showing the same symptoms.
I have noticed a couple of strange things from the trace logs, as well as the weblayout folder:
1. The weblayout folder that contains the conversions in question from yesterday (there were about 3 dozen jpg's from the same folder) have something interesting going on. We recently renamed the parent folder from "Photos" to "Project Visuals," however within that weblayout folder there is ONLY a "Photos" folder - yet it contains all the newly converted files (which are in Project Visuals folder). I am thinking this might be a problem.
2. In the IBR logs I notice at the beginning and end of the job the COPYJOB operation does not get passed a job id. The exact errors are:

Do any of you know what is the normal expected behavior for these two scenarios? Shouldn't the conversion process create a new folder and update all the references from the photos folder?

I reinstalled Firefox and used Xmarks to reinstall bookmarks. All work except for those in the bookmarks toolbar, which scroll down but don't open the page when clicked.

I did a clean install of XP and reinstalled Firefox. Then I used Xmarks to get back all my bookmarks. All are working except for the bookmarks toolbar. It shows entries and scroll as normal but when I click on one the page doesn't open.

Thank you for your interest. I use apple mail to access my two accounts -I guess they are 3rd party accounts. One is a gmail acount and the other is a bigpond account. I admit to a lack of a high level of literacy when it comes to the language around all of this. See if this unblocks your iPad.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

Forbidding all websites except for one or two?

Is there a way to forbid all websites expect for one or two sites? We are looking into getting a couple ipads for our business but need the employes not to use them for personal use. Please help!!

General -> Restrictions -> Websites
In that section select "Specific websites only" and you can enter in the sites you want your users to be able to access. Note that to the best of my knowledge it applies only to the built-in web browser, Safari, so you'll need to also turn off the ability to install apps or your users can just download some other browser.

Brand New ilife 09, all uploaded except for iweb 09

Hi There,
All of the other programs (GarageBand, iMovie, iPhoto) have successfully installed onto my computer. But the one upload I was most interested in, the iweb, doesn't install!
I have tried three times now. I see that you can customize the download and I've tried that twice. But even then the system is questionable because it says upgrade 0 bytes and it has said that from the very beginning.
I'm so confused and disappointed. Very much looking forward to anyone's help.

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. It could be a damaged disk. Download and run Pacifist to find, extract and install iWeb from the iLife 09 disk. If it can't open the iWeb package to work with it then there may be damage to the disk. Check the disk beforehand for any scratches or abrasions.
