IWeb podcast page in different site.

My current site is many pages, many graphics, etc. .... i.e. it's slow loading, and slow to publish. I have another .me account and was thinking of creating my podcast page there to facilitate faster publishing when updating my podcast. I have feedburner so all I have to do to change it for iTunes is to change the page link on feedburner. So my question is, if I create my podcast page on another .me site page, how is that going to affect my iTunes listing?
Whenever I submit a new podcast to my site and publish it, it sends it to iTunes automatically, soooo, if I create a totally new id with all my podcast imported there (I will need to have all the podcast there as it will be the redirect from feedburner for my podcast), will they all submit to iTunes again and mess up my iTunes listing?
What do I need to be concerned with regarding my iTunes listing and ranking?
Thanks in advance for the feedback and suggestions.

  • Can you publish a page to different site?

Is there a way to publish a page to different sites? For example, if I want to write a policy page that applies to all team sites, is there a way to publish this page to all team sites? I don't want to link to the page.
I tried Content Search Rollup and it just show the link to the page, I want the content of the page to be there.
    Thank you,
    Kirk

    Hi,
According to your description, my understanding is that you want to publish a policy page to all the team sites and it displays the content of the policy page in the team sites.
You can insert the Page Viewer Web Part into the a new page in all the team sites and type the URL of the policy page.

  • ITunes Looking for the "Title" of my iWeb Podcast Page/URL???

have created a podcast page in iWeb and tried to Submit to iTunes and now it asks for the Title of the Podcast???
Have filled in as many of the page names, file names as I think is possible and still get this message.
    Any help would be appreciated.
Would be great if they had a link on the iTunes submit page that would tell us what to do on iWeb.

You are making your podcast in WordPress and submitting it to Feedburner to pass on to the Store. If you want to change the title you have to do this in WordPress: however it looks as if Feedburner generates the feed filename from the title:
    http://feeds.feedburner.com/TheInconvenientTruthFileInPodcastTheInconvenientTrut hExploringTheFactsBehindTheFictions
so if you change the title you will likely change the URL and iTunes will lose contact with the feed. I don't know whether it will do this (logically it shouldn't) but you would have to find that out from their Help (if any). Otherwise you can only try it and if the feed URL does change, change the title back.
As you don't have direct access to the Feedburner feed, then if Feedburner changes the URL you will not be able to add the redirection tag necessary to change iTunes to a different feed - so it's possible you may be stuck with what you've got.

  • Can you page to different sites?

We have a 3 system intersite setup.  Two 560's and a 540.  Simply put, can you page to other site page groups via intersite dialing prefix?  This dialing sequence works but the other company does not hear the page.  Their speakerphone lamp does light up though.

If it is music that you personally created and own the rights to, then yes.  If it is music that you purchased from the iTunes Store or some other source, then no.

  • Podcast Page

    Hey Everyone!
I've added a podcast page to my site and I have a few questions.
I made my podcast in Final Cut Express and Converted it using Quicktime Conversions.
    I used the ipod format.
When I put it on the page iweb warns me that it is a large file.
Is there a way to make the file smaller and still have it ipod compatible and good quality?

I see you have no answers. Maybe you can get some at the Podcasting forum at the above link.

  • Can't get a podcast page to show up in iTunes online

I am trying to get student created GarageBand compositions up to iTunes online so that when a link to their song is clicked on an iWeb page a viewer can listen to or download the compostition.
I drug a playlist from iTunes to an iWeb podcast page and "submitted/published the new podcast page to iTunes and .mac"
It took a couple of attempts, but the page appears to have uploaded. When the links are clicked on the page
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/F9031D19-5E1E-467E-9A09-CE28F98 54D22.html
iTunes opens but no results for the student composer are found.
From what I've read in discussions and help, the page can take a few days to become available, but it has been over a week.
In addition to that opportunity, the two other podcast pages have made it to iTunes but don't contain all of the content.
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/1C912C17-D0EF-4727-AD99-502E48A 6D7DD.html
has one of two song samples on iTunes
    http://web.mac.com/hipmac/iWeb/HIP%20Mac/Podcast/A80AD904-294F-4043-BDA2-FBEB020 52DE8.html
has one of 14 song samples
I've tried re-uploading the podcast a couple of times and have sync'd iDisk...
    What should I try now?

    MQuaries...
you need to upload their podcast composition to .Mac or another server. If you're loading to .Mac use iWeb.
iTunes just points to the podcasts out on the web. It doesn't load them. You can't have them on your local computer unless it's RSS server enabled and is on the net 24/7.
Create a podcast page in iWeb. The main podcast page holds your artwork and a description of your podcasts. This artwork and info will be uploaded to iTunes. On this main podcast page, you'll see an ENTRY button. Click on that and you'll get a new page that is automatically underneath your main page in the SITE ORGANIZER. Put the first episode of your podcast there, with a description, date, and title.
SUBMIT TO ITUNES next under the FILE menu. You'll get an email from iTunes saying that they are reviewing your feed, then a couple of days later you'll get an approval email with your podcast url feed id. (keep this handy for later)
Then, people will be able to go to iTunes and download students compositions.
    hope this helps.

  • Two podcast pages?

    Hi -
I use Garageband and iWeb to publish an audio podcast. Can I add another podcast page to my site without issue? Will Garageband ask me what I want to do when I select "publish to iWeb?" (as in, will it ask me which page to publish to?)
    Thanks!
    Scott

iTunes wants the location of your .xml file THAT is your podcast URL
    http://www.radasky.com/Site/HearTheFox/rss.xml
Submit your RSS feed to iTunes by visiting _This Link_
If you're serious about podcasting you should really read the iTunes technical specifications page found HERE (the link found on the page in iTunes where you unsuccessfully attempted to submit your podcast)
The iTunes technical specification page has invaluable information regarding podcasts that expand well beyond iWeb's limited podcast xml generator capabilities and gives the podcaster a more thorough understanding of the fundaments behind managing and maintaining a podcast.

  • Downloading iWeb podcasts without "Subscribe" button?

My "enhanced" podcast (photos & audio) in an iWeb podcast page runs fine in a QT window. But what if I don't want a "Subscribe" button on my page or my podcast published on the iTunes Store?
...How can a visitor simply download the podcast (right now) to put in iTunes on their computer and perhaps then onto an iPod?
Control-clicking on the QT window gives the option of "Save as QuickTime Movie" only if the visitor has QT Pro. But is there a way for a visitor to download/save the m4a/m4b file as a podcast from my iWeb Podcast page?
(Perhaps I'm missing something really simple here.)
    Thanks.

A workaround for non QuickTime Pro owners.
Archive the file (Finder will add .zip to its name) and then use the "Link to File" option of iWeb.
A .zip file will always download and open (expand) with a double click.
Drawback is that now two files must upload which wastes bandwidth and server space.

  • What does the spotlight bar in my podcast page do ?

    Hi,
In my iWeb podcast page, there is a spotlight bar. At first I thought it was for searching words or something in the podcasts, but it leads to a page with no results "powered by .mac" .
What does it really do ?
    Sincerly.

My website is posted in mobileme but my searches always lead to "no results". Are you talking about the blog or the podcast pages ?

  • Subscribe button stopped working - made new podcast page

I accidently deleted the podcast page from my site, so I built another one. The subscribe button was working fine on the old page, but this one doesn't . I deleted the old page files from my html folder on Bluehost, but still no luck. Am I doomed now because I deleted the old page?

iTunes is behaving as if it cannot find the feed at all: since as you say both feeds show four episodes and the old feed (whose address is still being given on your website) has the redirection tag, I don't know what is going on. Unfortunately it's not possible in iTunes to detect the URL the feed it thinks its using, but evidently for whatever reason it has failed to update.
I should remove the 'itunes:new-url' tag from the original feed, ping the Store, and wait a few days to see whether its entries update to match the feed: if you can get that to happen then you could try the redirection process again. Otherwise I can only suggest contacting Support:

  • New site created in iWeb, Podcast works, but the Subscribe button doesn't!

    Hi All,
I created a new site in iWeb at http://www.adamonearth.com be great if you could help out a little! I am very happy with the site turned out!
But I have been trying to get the Video Podcast subscription link to work for a while now, but the Podcast Subscribe button on my Video Podcast page does not work. For some reason iWeb adds in /adamonearth.com after the website domain, like this... itpc://www.adamonearth.com/adamonearth.com/Video%20Podcast/rss.xml
So if you go to my site at http://www.adamonearth.com and click onto Video Podcast the Subscribe button is on there.
iWeb won't allow me to edit it either. Be great if you know of any ideas to amend it!
Also be great if you let me know what you think of the site overall.
    Cheers.
    Adam.

    Hi Tom,
Thanks so much for all your help, I really appreciate it.
I fixed the name of the site and called it 'Holly' I now have the Video Podcast link working but one problem, when you enter the website address:
    http://www.adamonearth.com
It goes to the Index Of/ page then you need to select 'Holly' which is the folder name for it to divert to the Welcome.html page.
I have put up a directory listing for you http://www.adamonearth.com/54512.tiff
I have tried moving the Welcome.html page above the Holly folder but that then does not link to the other pages correctly.
From what I can see I have done everything right this time, as the Podcast link works in iTunes now.
    Any help would be great.
    Thanks again,
    Adam.

  • Using iWeb for 2 different sites...

    Hello all~
I am tinkering around with iweb today. Just updated my .mac site and am considering creating a site as I have personal webspace provided through my ISP.
My problem is... I can't figure out how to create 2 totally different websites with iweb. Each time I try, both sets of info goes to one site or the other.
    Any suggestions???

    This is what I've experienced...
When you choose "Publish to a Folder" it asks you for a URL. This means that only one of your sites can have an RSS feed, to my understanding.
I actually have 5 sites, but only one that I know will have a working RSS feed.
When you publish, it does a good job of separating the files by site name.
If you publish to a folder on your ddesktops called "Websites" it will look like this:
Websites> (will contain a index.html which references the one you typed in) and Two folders:
Site 1 Folder> (will contain another index.html file and the rest of the sites html pages and page files).
Site 2 Folder> (will contain another index.html file and the rest of the sites html pages and page files).
So it can be done, but only the site whose name you type in when you publish will have the RSS feed capabilities.
    Hope this helps.

  • IWeb hypertext links to pages from my site not "viewable" in some browsers

I am new to iWeb 08. iWeb created hypertext links to eleven pages from my "top level" site are not "clickable" or viewable in some browsers yet the hyperlinks I added on top page to other sites don't present a problem.
No problem with Safari or AOL Desktop Version 1.2 or Firefox browsers. However, AOL Ver 10.3.7 (rev 4136.310) only shows other site links and NOT the page links at the top of site page. Only a dot is visible where links to other pages in the site. I thought it could have been a Java Scripts problem so I updated my AOL to latest JAVA. Not concerned for my part but others with Mac AOL may have same problem.
Is there something I could do diferent at my site or is this another AOL shortcoming?
    See: http://web.mac.com/louiedea/OceanaMed_Cruise_2008/MedCruise08.html
    Thanks, LouieDeA

    Gayle,
No solution yet. I am sure it is a shortcoming of AOL's Mac browser but am trying to contact AOL support (difficult now that they are free). I don't use their browser but there are probably those that do. I presume you don't have that problem when you use Safari, etc?
