Wouldn't it be cool if you could make game levels for mini golf or vortex in Itunes?
I seriously think Apple should consider that. the levels get stupid after like a week of playing the same ones.
I'm not a computer expert so if this is impossible then forget I ever said it.

Ok, so I do not know how plausible this would be but it would be awesome if it were possible. With today's technology i think it would be. yep you're right it is from the NOAA website. I just did a couple transformations, becuase like you said the original colorscheme is less than ideal. I'll post the little script i made below, i just have it on a cronjob that updates every ten minutes. It basically just takes the negative of the image, than makes the water color transparent so you can make anything you want under the wallpaper preferences.

Idea for a Bluetooth Headset

I don't where/how to offer suggestions for Apple, but this seems like a decent place...
I really like bluetooth headsets, except for phones that also come with music, namely, the iPhone. The problem is that bluetooth headsets only come for one ear which is far from ideal when listening to music. Maybe someone has already had this idea and made a phone, if so, please tell me, otherwise someone please make one so I can buy it. But I think a bluetooth headset that came with a retractable earbud would be a really awesome idea so that if only a normal bluetooth headset is desired, the extra earbud can be easily attached to the primary bluetooth piece, but when one wants to listen to music in both ears, the second earbud can be pulled out of the bluetooth piece and put into the other ear through a retractable wire, much like many vacuum cleaner cords come, or like a tape measure. This way, music can be listened with both ears or one can talk on the phone through one ear and two separate devices don't have to be carried around when one could be easily lost and you get the convenience and awesomeness of bluetooth.

OK, so after doing some research I found a bluetooth headset called the Plantronics Voyager 855 that has a normal bluetooth headset, but it also has another earbud that can be plugged in to it and wrapped around the back of the head for Stereo music. The problem is that the extra earbud has to be carried around if there is a possibility of its being used and dealt with if its use is not desired. The other problem is that, after reading some other posts, it may not be compatible with the iPhone, as it appears that many bluetooth headsets aren't. I think apple should make a bluetooth headset with and extra attached, and retractable earbud that works seemlessly with the iPhone.

Having problems downloading itunes 10.5.2; box states windows installer issue. I have a 2005 with windows XP and service pack 2. Any ideas?

Just bought a new ipod touch for my daughter. It won't sync without itunes 10.5.2 loaded on our computer (a 2005 HP with Windows XP and service pack 2.) When I've tried to load 10.5.2, I get an error message box stating there is a problem with my Windows installer. I've tried loading the windows installer hot fix KB942288-v3-x86, but it didn't help. Any suggestion?

thanks for the quick reply. I had the same idea already yesterday. I use Norton Internet Security for a long time now without any problems. I think this a Apple or Microsoft problem, because the popup window which appear come from Windows DEP. I got no message from the firewall with any problem. I check the log files from Norton and Windows already but find nothing. This is a very strange problem. In the past I have had a lot of other problems with iTunes upgrades. Everytime I accept the installation of the newest version I got errors regarding missing "msi" files.

After updating to 10.7.4 can no longer connect to a NAS using afp. Any ideas?

Just upgraded to 10.7.4 from 10.6.8.
We use a NAS to store and back-up work but am now unable to connect using afp.
I can connect using SMB but this means I loose all the resource forks on my fonts etc.
Any ideas?

IDE/SCSI Problems with Neo 4 Platinum/Sli

I am routinely getting Event 11 and Event 9 errors in my event viewer which are basically "The controller detected an error on device " then lists a controller and a harddrive. I never got errors like this on my old rig (an Asus A7Pro Motherboard) and I'm using many of the same components. I get controller errors on my Adaptec Card/HDD which is very odd since I'd imagine they were totally separate from the nVidia or Silicon Image SATA/IDE on the board.

Old Rig had the WD IDE drive, the SCSI card and dvd/cd drives, the sound card, and the wireless card.
I originally had a 40GB IDE Maxtor drive (which I replaced with the Digital Raptor) but it had all sorts of event 11 and 9 errors and exhibited slow IDE performance and even created conflicts with the WD IDE Drive outside of windows. I had problems running the WD diagnostsics software (runs in DOS) when the Maxtor drive was set to primary master on either of the two IDE channels.
What I'm wondering is if there is a BIOS upgrade or Driver release or anything that fixes these problems for people. I'm using BIOS 3.1 (when I upgraded to Bios 3.4, my computer would BSOD in normal and safe modes, and I didn't feel like reinstalling Windows, so I downgraded back to 3.1) The nVidia IDE drivers (6.53) caused massive problems with my drives (event 11 and 9 and endless lockups with the IDE light remaining on, requiring cold boots) so I ditched them for the windows default drivers.
I'm curious if people have checked out their own event viewer (Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Event Viewer->System for all you non-power users) and checked out the errors listed there.
The only other stability problem sI've noticed is when playing Half Life 2 in 1280X1024 resolution (1024X768 didn't have the problem) would cause complete crash of the machine. Monitor would lose signal and a cold boot was required... reset button didn't fix the problem. I figured this might be a cooling issue so I checked temps and they were fine. Then I figured it may be a power problem so I upgraded to the Vantec Stealth PSU (from my Antec 380W SilentPower) I haven't tested HL2 extensively since, so I'm not sure if this problem has gone away. The other problem occurs when trying to rip a CD in iTunes with "cd error checking on" System totally stalls out and a cold boot is required to get the SCSI happy again. If I rip using error checking off, things seem to work, however I get a problem sometimes where a track will suddenly squeel and crack in the middle and then the remainder of the song will be the first track on the album. The next track in the sequence will have a half second blip of the previous track on it, essentially meaning that two tracks are "broken rips" Ripping in AudioGrabber with ASPI doesn't seem to exhibit these problems.
Any similar experiences or sollutions/advice would be greatly appreciated.

You can buy a Mac, download XCode and learn to program iOS apps yourself, or find and pay an existing developer to create the app for you.
Before you waste any time and effort, carefully search the AppStore to make sure no-one else has already had the same idea.

Thank you Gergely! I don't think I worded this very well. We have an http trigger that accepts several parameters from the client (see screenshot for example). The http trigger works with several other scripts and uses the UCCX API to manage an outbound IVR campaign.
They are asking us for a WSDL for this interaction. We explained that this is not a true webservice; it is a simple POST but we wanted to put it out to the community to see if anyone had any insight/ideas. Thank you again for always taking the time to respond!

Genius exporting idea - YES OR NO?

I just had a brilliant idea about exporting and I can't wait to share it with you guys so you can tell me if I'm really as smart as I think I am or if I'm just plain dumb and I'm missing something.
So I've got a bunch of movies, already edited, all I have to do is export them. Of course, I don't want to sit there and wait for each movie to export since I'm using the "Export using QT compression" command so here's what I came up with:
How about I export all those movies as Quicktime movies (without compression, not self-contained files) and then open them all in Quicktime and just use the H.256 compressor in QT to export them all at once. It's the same compressor after all but I can do all the movies at once unlike when I'm using FCP and I have to wait until the export is done to work on another project. Am I missing something here or is this really a plausible idea?

If you'd like to avoid Batch Export (for whatever reason) then the workflow you've suggested will work. Compressor (properly set up) will make better use of multiple cores on a Mac Pro than QuickTime Player, though.

You can already run a bunch of FP languages on the JVM and they have decent support for directly calling Java code and using Java libs.
Personally I am happy with plain, old boring Java.
