J2sdk1.2.1 for win 2000 Setting path

Can Any one help me to set all path for running J2ee on my system i have just installed j2sdkee1.2.1 on my system.

What exactly is your issue? Are you having trouble compiling applications or deploying and running them? Are you using J2EE 1.2 or was that a slip of the finger? Do you have some requirment that is forcing you to use 1.2, if not, why not use 1.4 instead?

PCMCIA-GPIB for win 2000 running on cPCI bus via a cPCI PC Card Adapter

We are trying to use a PCMCIA-GPIB for win 2000 running on cPCI bus via a cPCI PC Card Adapter. Our OS is WIN2K SP3 and we are running version 1.7 (latest) of the drivers. Unfortunately when using the "getting started" wizard and the "verify software and hardware installation" the system occasionally doesn't pass the third test. When it does, we try to scan for instruments using MAX Explorer to talk to a Agilent CW generator via GPIB but it cannot find the instrument. Doing the same thing on a laptop PC is successfully achieved. Any information on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Although it should be transparent to the PCMCIA card, I have also have had some problems with some adapters. Specifically, I have been able to install the card in a PCI-PCMCIA adapter form Qualtech, but not if I'm using a cPCI Cirrus Logig adapter. We haven't been able to find a cause for this.
If you need a GPIB interface in a cPCI system, you might consider the PXI-GPIB. PXI fully compliant with the cPCI standard.

Language issues in SQL*Plus 8.1.7 for win 2000

Hi,
I installed Oracle Client 8.1.7 /Win 2000 release.
When I use SQL*Plus 8.1.7, I can not type nor read Arabic characters. My Win 2000 has all the Arabic components. And I am using AR8ISO8859P6 character set on both DB and Registry edit.
I feel like it is a bug in SQL*Plus 8.1.7 on win 2000.
Did anyone face such problem?? Do anyone have a solution?
(Note: When I type Arabic characters it is displayed as Latin characters. When I store them in DB and retrieve them from an other application they are retrieved correclty)

I had similar problem with Cyrillic characters on previous version of Oracle on Windows NT 4.0. We could not find good solution for them. Only solution we found was to write sql commands in notepad and send it in SQL*Plus with copy and paste.

Itunes for win 2000

Download for windows 2000 is version 7.3.2. Itunes gives message the 7.4 is required for Ipod

The Ipod is the classic 80 gig. Purchased 6/6/08.

Is the patch available? where can I get it(I don't seem to be able to find it) ?
If it's not available, when will it be? NT will have discontinued support, did Oracle know that(Of course they did ;)?

We had the same problem. There is a patch available on oracle metalink that will upgrade disco admin edition (to version 4.1.36), which will then update your EUL.
Here is how you get it:
-go to: "metalink.oracle.com"
-click: "patches"
-click: "Click here for Patches released..."
-select product: "Discoverer admin..."
-select platform: "MS Windows NT/2000..."
and there it is...
here is the patch info:

Downloading Oracle for Win 2000

I have had difficulting downloading oracle. personal edition.
My computer is 450Mz, 128mb ram, free 2.3gig space.
What is the problem/ Help

your computer specification you wrote is ok. But you did not specified any problem.
1 If you are feeling problem in Downloading/disconnection then you should use a software called "GetRight". You can download this software from www.download.com.
2. if you are feeling downloading data rate problem then you can use any "internet Accelerator" software which you can download from the same site as i mentioned earlier.
Personal Oracle 8i requires almost 540mb of disk space and you have enough space in you HD.

Ipod nano possible with win 2000???

my wife just got an ipod nano \(3rr gen) for her bday, and we have a computer with win 2000. now the only itunes we can find for win 2000 is ver. 7.3. when i downloaded this it tells me that i need ver. 7.4 or better. anyone got any info or tips for me... PLEASE

NO. That is NOT what the website says. When you go to the 732 for Windows 2000 d/l page, it clearly states you can use Win2k. Why have so many missed this??? Apple is clearly stating they support Win2k - including sync to ipod. I so got one. I d/l the iTunes 732 for Win2k and it works fine - to play music (using it right now). But once I connect my new nano, I get the error message "The iPod 'IPOD' cannot be used because it requires iTunes version 7.4 or later. Go to www.blah blah to d/l v7.4..." So.... what now??? I'm stumped. And never-mind the "win2k is old and nobody supports it..." stuff... Microsoft still offers SP4 for d/l.
Why would Apple put a utility in a backward compat. program that is not backward compatible?????
In addition (and this may be over my head), but why does the website show the file @ 47.7MB, put once on my hd it shows 37.9MB?? I've d/l the file twice to be sure but have the same result.

Oracle 9.2.0.3 or 9.2.0.4 on Win 2000

In the OTN downloads page, I see that I can download the database for version 9.2.0.1 (Standard Edition), for Win 2000.
I have been informed that the Developer Suite for 9i, with the 9.2.0.6.0 patch, is certified to run with database 9.2.0.3 or 9.2.0.4.
My question: Is database 9.2.0.3 (or 9.2.0.4) also available as an OTN download? If so, how can I access it?
Alternately: Does anyone have reliable information as to whether Developer Suite 9i (with patch 9.2.0.6.0) can also run against database 9.2.0.1? (All on Win 2000).
I am stressing the patch 9.2.0.6.0 issue, as I am told that prior to this patch, there were problems with setting up the Repository (needed for working with Designer).

Nope. There is no Database 9.2.0.3 for Win 32-bit (cd-pack/full release).
There is Database 9.2.0.1 (full release) and Patch Sets that brings it up to 9.2.0.3 (or .4 or .2). Patch Sets are, as I know, only available from Metalink with a valid support contract.
Note that AS and DS are 9.*0*.2. (confusing, yeah!)
Here on OTN we can find:
Oracle9i Designer Release 9.0.2.6.0 - a full, patch release for Oracle9i Designer
(You must install this over your Oracle9i DS installation)
Note the difference - patchset is for Designer/Repository 9i as part of DS, not the whole DS product stack (latest patchset for Forms & Reports is 9.0.2.3 I think). Patching Oracle (except for DB) is messy as always I guess ;)
I would guess that Oracle Support recommends to have DS patchset 9.0.2.2 installed also...
And cert info includes a requirement for at least 9.2.0.3 (DB) so I guess you have smoe patching to look forward to ;-D

Crash when genarating forms on Win 2000

When we generate some complex moduls with forms
generator on Win 2000, the generator posts the messages
of internal error which occurs in some function inside generator.
Sometimes the designer is also close by OS because of
illegal operation.
On Win NT 4.0 the generation produce nice form.
We use Designer 6i rel. 2. Is there maybe some patch on rel 2 for Win 2000 ?
We can't migrate to release 4 now.

FLV and Win 2000??

Hi everyone!!
Im finishing a web site and in some momento I call flv videos
dynamicaly
in a new movieclip, through progressive download.
In my machine it works ine, same for MAC's and PC's using win
WP.
But for win 2000, some times the video doesn't appear, or
play the first
frame and stop.
In all the cases the FLV player component appears in the
window, but the
flv video not.
Someone could help me???

It is 2.9. I have installed the JRE version 1.4.2 on the Win2k PC. I understand the problems that this JRE version may have with CMS. With 1.4.2 JRE installed, when I try to access Location manager it gives an error. I dont remember exactly the error message right now, but I will paste the output tomorrow.

Forms 6i webforms under Win 2000

I was trying to use Forms 6i under win 2000 and I get a message on the install indicating webforms only runs on NT. I understand the problem, but how long will it be before you have a version for win 2000?
Or is their additional docs that would help with this install?

On the install I have a box come up that says
"You have selected Developer 2000 Webforms which is installble only on Windows NT 4.0 only. Press OK to continue to install other modules or press cancel to terminate".
Other modules install. Just the webforms does not.
This was our first install on Win 2000. We had planned 2000 as the operating system for 9iAS also. Are we better off just going back to NT 4.0 for now? Is 9iAS win 2000 ready?

K7pro (6195) & win 2000

I try to install win2000 on a k7pro it works, but the SO instal several generic controlers and there are a unknow device in the control panel.
The Setup from the drivers-cd didnt install any driver. The only driver for win2000 that i can found on the cd is the Power Management Setup. No AGP driver for win 2000 and the IDE driver didnt work.
I try Live update 3 but says that no driver update were found (The same for the bios and in not with the lastest version). PC alert 3 (work fine on win98) says that that i need a monitoring chipset or something like that.

there are a AMD 751 Chipset AGP Driver but the one for win 2000 is the same for win98 and dont work.

Ups, sorry, its a typo mistake. I meant OS (operating system).
The questions is that i need the drivers for win2000 of my mobo because the drivers of the CD are only for win98 and the win2000 drivers of the suppor section are for win98 (the URL is the same for boot OS drivers).
Without that drivers the system runs, but with generic drivers and not all the devices of the mobo are recognized by win2000.

Get Windows Folder Paths on Win 2000

I downloaded the windows_folder_path.vi from NI site, where I can see that "This VI is supported on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista."
If I use it in an executable that searches for Application Data folder, it works under XP, but it doesn't under a fresh Win 2000 SP4 installation.
A pop-up with the message:
Entry poin Not found
The procedure entry point SaferGetPolicyInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll
is shown.
When I press the OK button, another popup
LabVIEW: Resource not found.
An error occurred loading VI 'windows_folder_path.vi'.
LabVIEW load error code 3: Could not load front panel.
I'm confused because here (MSDN, Microsoft Developer Network) I can see that the SaferGetPolicyInformationfunction requires WinXP or Vista
Isn't this vi expected working properly under Win 2000?
In the next days I'll do the same test on a Vista machine, and I hope....
How can I get the Application Data path on WinXP, 2000 and Vista? With different languages OS this folder has a different name (Application Data, Dati Applicazioni, ...) so I can't build the path by myself.

Use the registry functions of LV to get direct access.
The folders for the current logged in user is under:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders, the value is AppData
The Fodlers for all users is under:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Shell Folders, the value is Common AppData

Unable to set path in win 98

hi!
i know it wud sound stupid but i am unable to set path variable in win 98. i added the line PATH=c:\j2sdk1.4.1_01\bin in autoexec.bat,
then executed the statement c:\autoexec.bat and then checked the value of path variable. it works fine but when i try to run any java file like
c:\javac Test.java the following error appears:
error: cannot read: *.java
1 error
wat shud i do??????

you should change into directory where you have these .java files, and then try again...
