JAAS Login Module using Deployable Web Service proxy

Hi,
We've created a JAAS Login Module that calls a deployable web service proxy to validate users on Netweaver Portal 2004 SP19. To do this the following steps were taken:
1) created a deployable web proxy named 'SGU_proxy' and uploaded it to server. This project created 2 files: 'SGU_proxy.ear' (the one uploaded) and 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'.
2) created a Java project named 'AgregacaoLoginModule' with a single class to authenticate users, this is the class that calls the web service with the username and password. This project references the deployable web proxy project (Properties > Java Build Path > Projects > checkbox marked next to project SGU_proxy).
3) exported the Java project class, not including the 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'.
4) created a 'J2EE Server Component' > 'Library' project named 'AgregacaoLoginModuleJ2EE'.
On the 'provider.xml' file added 2 jars: 'AgregacaoLoginModule.jar' and 'SGU_proxyClientAPI.jar'. References were made to the standard portal libraries. No references were made to the proxy 'SGU_proxy' or the 'AgregacaoLoginModule' project.
The library was uploaded to the server, everything was ok and no errors were reported.
The login module was configured on the server and is called when users try to acess Portal server.
The problem is that when trying to authenticate users: after getting a reference to the proxy using jndi I get a ClassCastException. Note that this proxy is used in a WebDyn Pro application and is working fine.
The web service client proxy generated the interface 'pt.agregacao.ws.sgu.Servicos' and from jndi I get 'class pt.agregacao.ws.sgu.ServicosImpl'. So this seems to be ok, why the exception?
Is it necessary to had a reference to 'SGU_proxy' on the 'AgregacaoLoginModuleJ2EE' project? If so, how?
Thanks in advance.

  • URGENT - Deployable Web Service Proxy gets an unauthorized message

    Hello Guys!
    I had developed a <i>deployable web service proxy</i> that is called from a servlet. The web service is secured by a basic authentication. My servlet instantiates the proxy and I set the stub like the code bellow:
    Maintenance myMaintenance = (Maintenance)ctx.lookup("java:comp/env/MaintenanceWSProxy");
    MaintenanceViDocument port = (MaintenanceViDocument)myMaintenance.getLogicalPort("MaintenancePort_Document", MaintenanceViDocument.class);
    port._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.username", "user");
    port._setProperty("javax.xml.rpc.security.auth.password", "password");
    But when I call the servlet, an exception is thrown:
    407 - Unauthorized
    Somebody knows what is happened?
    Thanks a lot!
    Best regards,
    Marcelo

    Hello Marcelo,
    i've got an impression that the return error code is related to servlet itself.
    Was the servlet deployed as a portal application or as pure j2ee (via SDM or via  portal support page)?
    Are you accesing it through portal framework or by a direct link to j2ee application?
    If it is an portal application - you need to set security policy for iView or for the application (depends on the way you use it. Via iView or via direct link)
    If it is an pure j2ee application, then you can define your security roles within the project. First of all, check those settings. Second step is done in VisualAdmin, where you map objects from UME to your security role defined in project.
    hope it helps.

  • Looking for example: JAAS login module using ADF BC

    Hello all,
    I have seen the article at http://www.oracle.com/technology/products/jdev/howtos/10g/jaassec/index.htm by Frank and Duncan detailing how to put together a login module that uses the database for authentication. Great idea. I would like to take it to the next level and use an ADF BC View Object to do the authentication and role assignment for users, but am stuck on a few points. First of all, is there anyone out there who has done this and would care to share? If not:
    1). How do I get a reference to the AM so that I can look up a view object in the login module?
    2). I assume that I am going to need to add my model project classes to the system classpath, correct?
    3). What are the other gotchas?
    4). Or should this be the first question, is this even possible?

    Hi John,
    I am trying to find a relevant example on JAAS login module with ADF BC,
    i have this application that is ready to go in production deployed on a test application server
    everything seems to work fine but it is totally deprived of security :o(
    i have sent post to get some information i read most of it i even came across your blog on the matter
    i am sort of understanding the things needed to do but i would need a working example to get a better grasp on the this subject. I need i think to built a custom login module but i dont know what exactly can be coded inside the jar file that is read from the application and that forces the authentification so if you could help in my research for an example you OR anyONE
    it would be appreciated

  • How to use a Web Service Proxy from a different DC?

    Hi developers,
    In EJB DC "dc1" I have imported a wsdl and generated proxies and service group.
    In public part "compilation" of dc1 I have added all the generated proxy classes and the wsdl from META-INF/wsdl folder
    EJB DC "dc2" depends on this public part (also on the mcjar public part which should hold info on the Service Group).
    Here I would like to use the proxy classes defined in "dc1" to invoke the WS in my WSConsumer StatelessEJB like this:
    @Stateless
    public class WSConsumerBean implements WSConsumerLocal {
         @WebServiceRef
         ZWSWORKSHOP1 service;
         public ArrayOfString testWS() {
              ZWSWORKSHOP1ViDocument port = service
                        .getPort(ZWSWORKSHOP1ViDocument.class);
              ArrayOfString retVal = port.doOperation();
              return retVal;
    After deploying the EAR with both the proxy and the ejb, when I try to invoke the EJB injection fails:
    javax.xml.ws.WebServiceException: JAX-WS deployable proxy is instantiated with 'new' instead of been injected. Cannot find WSDL URL for service [class zws_workshop1wsd.ZWSWORKSHOP1]
    Can someone help?
    Thanks, regards
    Vincenzo

    A solution is to use JNDI lookup in EJB.
    Instantiate a InitialContext and lookup the JNDI entry with the lookup String you can find in NWA -> JNDI browser
    Have fun!
    Thanks, regards

  • Oc4j to Weblogic: JAAS login module in enterprise web application

    Hi Experts,
    I have a LoginModule defined in my existing EAR application.
    oc4j doc referece: http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/B31017_01/web.1013/b28957/loginmod.htm#BABECDDC
    I already followed Developing Custom Security Provider : http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12890_01/ales/docs32/dvspisec/progrmng.html
    How can I integrate LoginModule same way in weblogic..(10.3.4) thank you all in advance. Already know the process of MBean jar and configuring it in weblogic console.
    But Standalong MBean JAR can't find my Custom LoginModule defined in EAR which I am pointing from my CustomSecurityProvider thru
    getLoginModuleConfiguration()Thanks for reading my post.. hoping to get some response..

    is this even possible, is it a bug? anybody from weblogic team??

  • Reusing deployable web service proxies

    Hi ,
    I am new to CE 7.1 and am wondering about reusing deployable web service proxies.
    In this link , it is written that
    "The Web service client and the Web service proxy must be in the same EAR and in the same module (EJB or Dynamic Web module)."
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/45/113a1221337249e10000000a155369/content.htm
    So what if two applications need to use the same deployable web service proxy ? You shouldn't generate 2 proxies. How do both applications use the same deployable proxy ?
    Thank you.

    Thierry,
    If I understand your question correctly, you have two applications (distributed across two or more DCs) and you want to use the same generated Web Service proxies in both the DCs.
    If this is the case and assuming that there are two EJB DCs (one containing the proxies and the other containing the actual WS client implementation) and one deployable App DC (containing reference to the two EJB DCs), then define Public Parts for the proxies and use the same in the required EJB DC. You may refer to my [article |http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.km.cm.docs/library/uuid/d00fc143-5878-2c10-6f87-f868c1ae44e6] that explains this concept in a detailed manner.

  • Web service proxy and security constraint

    I've placed a security constraint on my web service and set the login-config auth-method as BASIC. When I run the Workshop test and the (Test View) browser begins to appear I am prompted for my username and password since it is protected --- great, it's working.
    Here's my problem, when I create the Java Proxy and try to access the web service using the proxy in another application I am never prompted for my username and password and thus the request fails. Anyway to fix this so I can be promted using the proxy??
    thanks in advance,
    Steve Touw

    Hi Shay Shmeltzer,
    Thanks for the reply.
    I tried in HTTP Analyzer in JDeveloper and there also it is not working. My concern is :-
    There are many other web services deployed on the same SOA server in same partition and they are working fine in HTTP analyzer and I am able to create and use the web service proxy as well. So as per my understanding there is nothing like network issues between SOA server and jDeveloper.
    1 more thing When I am creating the proxy for this web service and requesting from the proxy's main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side. The problem is jDeveloper is not able to get back that response which SOA is returning.
    Please Help.

  • Flex Builder 3 - Web Service Proxy Generator

    Hi guys,
    I am investigating the web service proxy generator that is part of FB3. I can't seem to get it working properly and wondered if anyone else has managed to succeed.
    I am using WSDL files that are generated from RFC-enabled function modules using the web service browser on a WAS ABAP.
    I have chosen two quite simple function modules. RFC_SYSTEM_INFO and BAPI_USER_GETLIST.
    The WSDL files are retrieved from the URLs /sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=RFC_SYSTEM_INFO and /sap/bc/soap/wsdl11?services=BAPI_USER_GETLIST on my server.
    I am following the Adobe documentation at http://livedocs.adobe.com/flex/3/html/help.html?content=data_4.html#151327
    Anyway, I generate the proxies and then try to use them.
    First I call the RFC_SYSTEM_INFO web service like this...
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <mx:Application xmlns:mx="http://www.adobe.com/2006/mxml" layout="absolute" xmlns:ws="au.com.yelcho.*">
        <ws:RFC_SYSTEM_INFOService id="myWebService" />
         <mx:Button label="Call Web Service" labelPlacement="top" click="myWebService.rFC_SYSTEM_INFO_send()" x="97" y="10"/>
         <mx:Label x="60" y="43" text="Current Resources"/>
         <mx:Text id="txNameOutput1" text="{myWebService.rFC_SYSTEM_INFO_lastResult.CURRENT_RESOURCES}" x="185" y="43"/>
         <mx:Label x="54" y="69" text="Maximal Resources"/>
         <mx:Text id="txNameOutput" text="{myWebService.rFC_SYSTEM_INFO_lastResult.MAXIMAL_RESOURCES}" x="185" y="69"/>
         <mx:Label x="105" y="95" text="RFC HOST"/>
         <mx:Text id="txNameOutput2" text="{myWebService.rFC_SYSTEM_INFO_lastResult.RFCSI_EXPORT.RFCHOST}" x="185" y="95"/>
    </mx:Application>
    At first glance this seems to work, but on closer inspection it turns out that not all the returned XML payload has been extracted properly.
    Attributes at the top level, like CURRENT_RESOURCES work fine. Attributes at a lower level, like RFCSI_EXPORT.RFCHOST are empty.
    It is even more difficult when I try and call the BAPI_USER_GETLIST service because it requires input parameters. Testing with XMLSpy I found that I need to pass the MAX_ROWS and USERLIST parameters to get the SOAP call to work.
    I have been unable to figure out how to pass these parameters so that the web service call takes place properly. I have tried using both the MXML and ActionScript methods.
    It is entirely probably that, as I haven't played with Flex for some months, I have forgotten some vital piece of information on how to do this.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Cheers

  • Web service proxy and data control are not working properly

    Hi,
    I am working on jDeveloper 11.1.1.6
    I have a SOA web service which requires 3 inputs and return with a set of data.
    When I tried testing that web service in soapUI it is working perfect. But when I have created a web service proxy in my application and trying to test it from class (*******_ptClient) main method everytime it is replying with the output null
    Also When I am requesting from the main method SOA is getting proper input (which I am providing in the main method) and SOA is returning proper output I have checked the SOA instance in em. So there is no problem in SOA side.
    After that I have created web service data control and tested in that case also it is not showing any result.
    What could be the problem ?
    Please help.
    Thanks

    Hi,
    It might be that the .net service which you have is not WS-I compliant. Can you first run WS-I Analyzer on the wsdl to see it the test passes.

  • How to generate a Web Service Proxy for an ESB Routing Service?

    Hi,
    I have a SOAP service behind an ESB Routing Service. I am aware that i can call this ESB Service at the SOAP endpoint which can be found at the ESB Console after registration.
    But, i want to invoke this service using a Web Service Proxy. My understanding is that, i need to use the WSDL generated for the ESB Routing Service to generate the proxy. The WSDL which can be seen in JDeveloper does not have any soap bindings and hence the tool does not allow me to generate any proxy.
    Also, the two WSDLs whose URLs can be found at the ESB Console do not have the soap endpoint properties.
    Can someone help me out on the same?
    Thanks and regards,
    Priya.

    Priya,
    Just take the SOAP endpoint and suffix it with a ?wsdl
    Even the Concrete WSDL endpoint should be having a SOAP endpoint.

  • JDEV deployment of web app with custom JAAS login module fails

    For the first time, I am trying to implement a custom JAAS login module.
    JDEV deployment to standalone OC4J only fails when my orion-application.xml is included. The deployment fails with a java.lang.InstantiationException.
    This what I have done:
    1) Wrote a custom LoginModule called com.whirlpoool.sjtc.jaas.gpa.LDAPLoginModule.
    2) Put it and its dependent classes in a jar named sjtcjaas.jar.
    3) Put the jar in $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\lib
    4) Changed library_path in $ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\application.xml to
    <library path="../../home/lib/scheduler.jar;../../home/lib/sjtcjaas.jar" />
    5) Added an orion-application.xml to the JDEV project. (I used an Oracle How-to as a pattern, see below.)
    I think I'm close but no cigar, yet. Any help would be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Al Malin
