JAVA Error in SAP Management Console in single stack

Dear Experts,
Our client  SAP-PI 7.31 JAVA only server started displaying number of error message and I do have much hand in
BASIS activities since being a SAP-PI consultant. I tried searching the issue in forums but in vain..
Some of the error messages generated in Management Console are shown below.
1.JAVA Instance Task ABC shut down...
2.Server Cache 41per<50 perc average over 5 minutes below threshold  (22 values.)
3.JAVA Heap Memory 97%> 80 %  last value above threshold.
Could anyone suggest how to solve the issue?
Regards
Rebecca

Hi Rebecca,
Hope you are doing good.
For the "1.JAVA Instance Task ABC shut down..." check the work folder files and the default traces.
For the "3.JAVA Heap Memory 97%> 80 %  last value above threshold..." increase the heap memory values by atleast 1 GB if you have enough resources on the engine. On how to do this, see:
Configuring JVM Parameters - Administration - SAP Library
For this particular reason, SAP has developed the Quick Sizer (which is a Web-based tool).
This is available free of cost for customers from: <http://service.sap.com/quicksizer>
and
<http://service.sap.com/sizing>
You will be able to identify whether more hardware/ server nodes etc. are needed and resize the server accordingly. With the Quick Sizer you can translate business requirements into technical requirements. Simply fill in the online questionnaire, an up-to-date survey that is based on business-oriented figures. The results you obtain can help you select an economically balanced system that matches your company's business goals.
For 7.3 server in particular, do go through:

    Hi Experts,

    Hi,
Looks like your mmc dll is corrupted, with your install and uninstall of software.
    Two Options:
    1. Upgrade the Kernel with latest Patch level, which comes with new SAPMMC.dll file
    OR
    2. Just download the SAPMMC*.sar file from service market place and extract in exe directory, since it is windows re-booting the server doesn't hurt.
Hope this helps. points are welcome.

  • SAP management console not showing AS java

    Hello all,
I have made a NW04s installation system test (linux+oracle). I then installed as java add-in EP and BI (AS JAVA, EP CORE, EP, BI JAVA). It was NW04s SR2 with SPC13 and kernel not changed: 700 patch 111.
In the SAP management console there were 3 entries: one for database, one for abap instance and one for java instance.
In the abap instance node I was able to see an entry for "AS java"  which was whowing two process (SDM and another one...).
I made a new test installation similar to the previous one and in the SAP management console I do not see any entry for "AS Java". Of course AS java is installed and running !
How can I get SAP management console show "AS java" ????
    Thank you
    Jean

    Hi Jean,
Start Services.msc from run prompt (if this is windows based installation)
and look for <SID>services, where <SID> is your instance name..
Please do the following and let me know if this of any success
You get back your MMC , please do the following steps.
    1. Go to Run and type MMC.
2.Go to file and select add/remove snap in ( alt+m).
    3.Click on add
4.Select the SAP system from there.
Save the MMC console which you have created now....This should work fine.
    Thanks
    Pankaj

  • Error coming when starting SAP Management Console

    Hi
Error is coming when trying to start the Server in Microsoft Management Console  . Well this has started coming just now , it was working fine except one point i want to highlight is that on the machine WAS620gui was installed and i upgraded to WAS640 gui , so is it related to with the upgradation of gui ?
    The error is :
Snap in failed to initialize                 |
Name : SAP system Manager                    |
    CLSID {633547EE-A302-11D1-AE59-0800009B07DBB}|

    Hi
It seems that the registration of the sapmmc.dll failed.
You can recover SAP Management Console again by manually registering the MMC snap-in. Do the following:
Open a CMD.exe and walk through the directory containing the sapmmc.dll file (mostly is under %systemroot%\system32 directory) then execute the following command:
    Regsvr32 sapmmc.dll
You should see a message confirmation that registration was successful.
Then start mmc again...it should now work smoothly!
    Hope this helps!

even if your thread is closed:
If you get this error in firefox you just have to install java plugin.

  • Difference between SAP SLD and SAP Management console

    Hello,
It seems that both System landscape directory and SAP management console have some overlapping features. The services can be started or stopped in both. Is it true? Does anyone know the difference between these 2 and where does Solution manager fit in?
    Thanks
    Shailik

    Hi,
SAP SLD  is the central information provider in a system landscape.this contains both Component information and Landscape description.COMPONENT Info in sense all the sap products and components along with their versions, And also third party products also.LANDSCAPE desc in sense the description of all the systems in particular landscape.
Example:This can shows exact idea for you.Components like CAF,Webdynpo(WD-java),BPM etc info. And the host names,Message server ports etc. Here we dont have start/stop functionality.
SAP MC provides a common framework for centralized system management. It allows you to monitor and perform basic administration tasks on the SAP system centrally, thus simplifying system administration. Using the SAP MC you can
1.Monitor and control (start, stop, or restart) the SAP system and its instances with a single tool
    2.Monitor system alerts
3.Display the list of all access points to an SAP system etc.
We can see difference by looking into http://<host name>:<port>/index.html
Look and feel are also differ.
For more info you can go through these links of sap help.
    For SAP SLD:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/fe/39ae3d47afd652e10000000a114084/frameset.htm
    For SAP MC:http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nwce10/helpdata/en/44/c707c053550f2ce10000000a1553f7/frameset.htm
    Thanks,

  • Services in SAP management console and related window services and process

    hai
can u please any one of you can send me the services in SAP management console and related window services(in adminstrator/services) and process in task manager.
    thanks in advance.
    Naga Laxmi

    Hi Naga,
Please refer to this article for the processes relevant to the Java Instance:
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/62/1bf03eae11e16be10000000a114084/frameset.htm
Except the processes of the Java instance you can find several processes of the IGS server and the ABAP disp+work processes.
You can easily find the relevant services by their SAP prefix.
    Hope this helps.
    Best Regards
    Vyara

  • Cannot start BW or HANA instances in SAP Management console

    Hi,
I created instance of "SAP Business Warehouse 7.4 SP5 incl. SAP Business Objects BI 4.1 SP2 on SAP HANA 1.0 SP7". When I'm trying to start SAP BW or SAP HANA instances in "SAP Management console" via remote desktop connection I receive an error message :
"WebService error: 21 The operation timed out" / "The RPC server in unavailable".
Any ideas how to fix this?

    Hi,
    See note: 535532
Mid way through the note it says:
You can then register the SAP J2EE Engine as a windows-service by using the SAP J2EE Engine Config Tool. Open a command prompt and change to the directory <J2EE Engine installation directory>configtool and run configtool.bat or start this tool via your Start-Menu "Tools->Config Tool" of the J2EE Server entry. Select at the left navigation area of this tool the entry "cluster/ server" the checkbox "Enabled" at the tabstrip "NT Service". Apply these settings by clicking on "File->Apply" at the menu. Do the same with the entry "cluster / dispatcher".
After you have finished these steps you can register now the J2EE Engine as a windows service.
Start service.exe, which is also located in the directory
<J2EE Engine installation directory>configtool. It works with three
    parameters:
Service.exe u2013install u2013 the service(s) is (are) registered as NT/2000 Service(s). For each specified cluster node, a separate service is generated. All services have startup mode automatic. To start the service(s), open the Control Panel ¨Services folder. Find the service in the list of available services (for example: SAP J2EE Server 1, SAP J2EE Dispatcher 1, SAP J2EE Server 2, and so on). Select it, and choose u201CStartu201D on the right-hand side. No u201CStartup Parametersu201D are needed for the service to run. The system starts the particular J2EE Engine 6.20 node in background mode. It can be used and administered as usual. The only difference is that the server does not run in a console window.
There may be other notes along these lines.
You should also check any notes on the setup of SAP in MSCS cluster, as it will contain instructions for registering the services.
Hope this gives you a pointer in the right direction.

  • SAP Management Console - Remote System Management

When I fire up my SAP Management Console (mmc plugin), I can see my locally installed instance for starting and stopping.  Can I use the plugin to manage a remote machine?
    Thanks!

This machine isn't running R/3, it is only running the Java application server.  There is no System > Status which I can find.
When I open the SAPMMC on my local machine, it has the tree:
        Console Root
         SAP Systems
          J2E
           bknitter-dt
           bknitter-dt 1
           bknitter-dt 0
I'm assuming in my case, if someone were to manage this remotely, they would simply put in "bknitter-dt 00" and "bknitter-dt 01" ??
    Thanks for the confirmation!
